Lore: It's only been a few years since a Noxian invasion force burnt my village to the ground, but I honestly don't remember too much about it. So many things happening so fast that it gets pretty hard to catch anything of note, let alone commit it to memory. Some people say that I was lucky to have started my combat training pretty early on. Others say that my luck is that my father was the only member of my family lost to the attack, and that I was actually able to inherit his blade. I think I would very much rather my home having not been attacked in the first place. That my father and many other brave warriors didn't have to die. Or at least that my family didn't lose everything, which in turn led me to run off and become some sell-sword to help ensure that everyone else is able to get by. It hurts, not seeing my family. But every little coin I collect from every job I complete is worth it. I only ever keep enough to cover necessities for myself. Everything else I earn gets sent back to them. And just knowing the difference I'm making for them is part of what keeps me going. Of course, amazing journeys; meeting and training with new friends and rivals; learning new things; and having a good sense of humor and a solid hope of scoring a girlfriend from all this each hold a merit of their own. It's a little funny when you think of it. My family and I lose just about everything we had, and all I can really think about other than securing our financial future is finding myself a nice girl and starting a fresh family myself. I guess I'll just hold on to these dreams until the day that one of them comes true.

Abilities: Passive - Steady Rain: Using one of Ryun's abilities reduces the cool down time on his other abilities. In exchange, however, he does not benefit from Cool Down Reduction on items.

R - (Blade sheathed) Surging Rain: Ryun prepares to draw his blade. For his next basic attack, Ryun will have extended range to dash to his target and will deal increased damage as he draws his sword. This "transforms" him into his Surging Rain stance and changes his other abilities. R - (Blade drawn) Tranquil Rain: Ryun sheathes his blade, "transforming" him to his Tranquil Rain stance and changing his other abilities. Doing this will heal him for 30% of the damage he dealt while in Surging Rain.

Q - (Blade sheathed) Brutal Rain: Ryun's next basic attack will target his opponent's weapon instead of the opponent them self, causing it to inflict a 0.5 second stun and reducing that enemy's damage output for 2/3/4 seconds instead of doing damage. Q - (Blade drawn) Pelting Rain: Ryun unleashes three consecutive slashes on a single target, dealing physical damage.

W - (Blade sheathed) Heavy Rain: Ryun thrusts the hilt of his blade forward for a short-ranged skill shot. If it hits an enemy, he will swiftly deliver an over-head strike to deal increased physical damage. W - (Blade drawn) Rushing Rain: Ryun leaps in target direction. Upon landing, he will deliver a sweeping-motion strike in the direction he came FROM dealing damage to all enemies struck.

E - (Blade sheathed) Falling Rain: For a couple seconds, Ryun will block all incoming basic attacks and gains a stack of "Falling Rain" for each one up to a cap. At the end of the duration, he will have bonus attack speed for every stack of "Falling Rain" he has. Stacks fall off after a few seconds, or are expended immediately every time Ryun attacks. E - (Blade drawn) Solemn Rain: Ryun delivers an over-head Kendo style strike, dealing physical damage to all enemies struck in a line. This ability replenishes a small amount of Energy for every enemy CHAMPION struck and also reduces the armor of those champions for a few seconds.

Style and tips: Ryun is a top-lane, energy-based fighter who specializes in switching between fighting with his sword drawn or sheathed. Unlike Jayce and Elise, he only gains bonus attack range for a single attack when drawing his sword. Otherwise his range stays the same. With his blade sheathed, Ryun is focused on low cool down, low energy-cost, abilities meant to harass his lane opponent and punish them if they get aggressive. But that changes upon activating Surging Rain. With the blade drawn, Ryun becomes far more aggressive himself as his abilities now deal far more damage at the price of much higher energy costs. Players will have to balance his two "forms" to maintain enough energy to stay in the fight; not to JUST heal by putting his blade away again.

As Ryun: --In "Tranquil Rain" stance, remember that your abilities are mainly to counter-engage. Wait for the enemy to come to you, then use "Falling Rain" and "Brutal Rain" to make them regret their aggression. "Falling Rain"'s block will also increase your attack speed once it has ended, allowing you to hurt your opponent more while they are stunned and weakened by "Brutal Rain". --Use "Rushing Rain" as and engage or an escape. Leap behind your opponent to cut off their escape route when you want to pick a fight, and deal a little extra damage as a bonus; or use it to get away from a bad trade and also punish foes that insist on chasing after you.

Against Ryun: --Aside from the initial engage when Ryun activates "Surging Rain", "Rushing Rain" is his only mobility move. Once he has used it to get into a fight, he is committed to that fight because he will have to dash behind his target in order to inflict the ability's damage. Yes it cuts off your escape, but it could easily do the same to him if he's not careful. --"Surging Rain"'s abilities do a lot more damage, but come at a much higher energy cost with "Solemn Rain" being the only one that can replenish this finite resource. Avoiding this ability will not only save your own health bar a little, but will also limit Ryun's options unless he sheathes his blade early.

Interactions:

Taunting Draven or Jhin: You make a spectacle of senseless killing. Let's see how you like being on the receiving end!!

Killing Draven: (Agitated) I guess I'm the famous one now.

Taunting Kennen: Oh jeez! I didn't see you there, Kennen!! -- Your height, plus ninja stealth... that is just ASKING for you to get stepped on! -- Figuratively, I DO look up to you, Kennen. Literally... not so much...

Responding to MasterYi's jokes: --Yi: Wuju pass me that potion? --Ryun: Sorry, master. I don't have one to spare. --Yi: The goggles, just for reading. --Ryun: You're kidding. That CANT be it!!! --Yi: The key to immortality; not dying. --Ryun: Well, you're not wrong.

Taunting Rakan: Don't make me do this, buddy. I do NOT want Xayah hunting me down!

Taunting Xayah: (Sigh) Killing you is REALLY going to hurt my friendship with Rakan.

Taunting Sion: I thought mindless corpses belonged to the Shadow Isles.

Taunting Yasuo: They say you killed your master, Yasuo. But the guilt you exude says something else... -- Face me, Yasuo! And may the truth be revealed by our blades!

Taunting any short champion: You better not sneak up on me unless you WANT me to punt you across the rift!!!

Creator's note: For anyone wondering about the ability names used, I'm REALLY bad at names, so I decided to base them off the names of sword-techniques from an anime I've seen. The "Shigure Soen Ryu" style from "Katekyo Hitman Reborn" to be more exact. However, these current ability names are more like place-holders until such time that I can come up with something better.

While I certainly am glad that someone like Ryun enough to give him an up-vote, I would honestly appreciate commented feedback a little more. Knowing what more I can add or readjust goes a long way in helping me ensure that Ryun is the best that I can make him to be. Just, please don't expect too much from me by ways of numbers. I'm really not all that good with them. Thank you.

I like the concept and some new mechanics this guy can offer, also I believe the 30% heal after returning to tranquil rain is good, but I would also question if certain mysteries might buff that or if it's just capped at 30, maybe change for the 3 levels from 25 30 35 possibly

I've noticed that Ryun has gone back down a vote, but no feedback has been posted as to why. I do see down - votes as somewhat "okay" just as long as viable feedback is provided. People are naturally going to be somewhat biased in favor of their own creations, and I'm no exception. For this reason I NEED people to point out the actual flaws in my creation's design so that I'm actually able to look into getting them fixed. Thank you.

Again Ryun has gone down in votes, but still no feedback as to why. If there is an issue with his kit, I NEED to know what it is before I can even try to fix it.

Whats your goal even? It doesn't even look like Iai with the way you want him to switch between two stances

Another down-vote, but still little-to-no reason as to why. People, PLEASE give me feedback so that I can at least try to fix my mistakes. How am I supposed to know what it is I need to do if I can't even find what it is I did wrong in the first place?

Well, I got some of Ryun's lines added. I'll see about adding more later when I have more time. Since I put in his lore that he is kind of looking for love, I'm thinking about giving him some lines to reference/poke fun at some of the community-created ships. Any thoughts?

Bear in mind that if I DO put in these ship-lines, they are NOT meant to confirm or validate any of the ships. He is only recognizing that the COMMUNITY has shipped the champions in question.
