(Champion Concept) Gilgamesh, the "True" Grandmaster
Creator's note: Gilgamesh is indeed the name of the character that this concept is based off of. However,I am sadly quite bad at coming up with names, so I'm using the inspiration's name as basically a place-holder.
#Lore: I cannot help but find it odd that my legend has not spread across all of Runeterra yet. An elite mercenary, taking on missions for the rich and poor alike, and gathering a vast collection of weapons taken from his fallen foes to use as his own in the battles yet to come. And yet few have heard of me. I guess most people just don't appreciate the TRUE art in combat. Facing your foe at their own game, and proving yourself to be better. To best an Ionian warrior's skill and discipline. To overwhelm a Noxian in terms of blood-lust and brutality. And to triumph in a test of endurance against someone haling from the Freljord. THAT is why I live: to face the best, no matter where they're from, and to defeat them in whatever aspect serves them best. With every victory my own strength and fighting ability grow, as does my collection of weapons to wield. And each one brings me one step closer to my true goal: to be the greatest warrior to ever live. To be a true grand master of arms. Except that title has already been claimed by another. By the man whom I have declared to be my rival. The time for our next re-match approaches, and THIS time I am ready.
......... Or maybe not. Not quite yet. On the plus side, only half of my ribs got cracked this time. Once I have recovered, I shall continue my journey. My mission. I will continue to add to my collection of experience and weaponry, until the day I face him again. And NEXT time, I will be ready. "So long as it even helps to put a weapon in my hand, and food in my belly, I shall tackle any mission. You can count on me!"
(This champion concept is heavily inspired by the Final Fantasy character: Gilgamesh, a talented fighter despite being a total idiot at times. As mentioned before, I am only using the inspiration-character's name as a place-holder, as I understand that using it may result in copy-right issues. But I will still provide a reference image of the character who inspired this concept bellow)
#Abilities: R - Warrior's Collection: Gilgamesh automatically has access to this ability starting at level 1. Pressing R has him switch between three weapons _(which I shall provide reference images for bellow)_in the following order: 2 Shamshirs --> Mace --> Kusarigama --> 2 Shamshirs. These weapons do not do anything special in of themselves, but each influences a corresponding ability. Using one of his abilities with the corresponding weapon will grant it a bonus effect, but will also extend that ability's cool down timer. "Warrior's collection" can be leveled up like any other ultimate in the game, with the first point put into the ability unlocking its passive component: Weapon Taker. (What weapon he is using at the time will be visible on his character model, but will also show up as an icon next to his health bar. This should help everyone know which one is in use) --Weapon Taker: Every time Gilgamesh gets a take down (a kill or an assist) he gets a stack of Weapon Taker up to a cap. Half of these stacks are lost upon death Weapon Taker stack cap: 5/10/15
Passive - Collector's Passion: While out of combat, Gilgamesh will regenerate a certain amount of health for every WEAPON (i.e.
,
,
, etc.) in his inventory. "Weapon Taker" stacks also count towards this effect.
Health per second: 7/6/5/4 health per weapon/stack (scaling down with each point in "Warrior's Collection") for a maximum of 84 health per second when out of combat towards end-game
Q - Overwhelming Force: Enhances Gilgamesh's next two basic attacks to deal bonus damage based on his AD. -- Shamshirs: - Grants a larger damage bonus for the two enhanced attacks, as well as healing him on hit. Bonus damage per hit: 30/40/60/80/100 Heal: 15/30/45/60/75 Ability duration: 10 seconds Cool down: 8/7/6/5/4 Mana cost: 60 -- Mace: - Successfully landing both enhanced basic attacks on the SAME target will apply a stun to that target as well. Bonus damage per hit: 20/35/50/65/80 Stun time: 1 second Ability duration: 10 seconds Cool down: 8/7/6/5/4 Mana cost: 60 -- Kusarigama: - No bonus effect, but costs less mana and has a lower cool-down timer. Bonus damage per hit: 20/35/50/65/80 Ability duration: 10 seconds Cool down: 6/5/4/3/2 Mana cost: 30
W - Skull Breaker: Gilgamesh leaps to target location, dealing physical damage in a small area around him when he lands. Damage dealt is increased the closer enemies are to the center. -- Shamshirs: - No bonus effect, but costs less mana and has a lower cool-down timer. Range: 650 Inner radius: 65 Radius: 200 Landing damage: 10/35/60/95/120 Inner-circle damage: 70/100/130/160/190 Cool down: 10/9/8/7/6 Mana cost: 30 -- Mace: - Increases AoE size and damage dealt. Enemies hit will also be slowed. Range: 650 Inner radius: 75 Radius: 230 Landing damage: 20/70/120/190/240 Inner-circle damage: 90/120/150/180/210 Slow: 10/15/20/25/30% Slow duration: 1/1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8 seconds Cool down: 12/11/10/9/8 Mana cost: 60 -- Kusarigama: - Upon landing, the ability can be re-activated to deal damage in a wide circle around Gilgamesh, with that damage being increased on enemies caught by the very edge of the ability's range. Range: 650 Inner radius: 65 Radius: 200 Re-activation radius: 400 Outer radius (post re-activation): 35 Landing damage: 10/35/60/95/120 Inner-circle damage: 70/100/130/160/190 Re-activation damage: 20/35/50/65/80 Blade damage: 40/70/100/130/160 Cool down: 12/11/10/9/8 Mana cost: 60
E - Bitter End: Gilgamesh swings wildly, dealing physical damage to all enemies in a cone in front of him. -- Shamshirs: - Cleaves in a cone twice. The first of the two strikes will also reduce the armor of all enemies struck. Cleave radius: 535 Angle: 50 Damage (per cleave): 25/45/65/85/105 Initial-cleave armor shred: 10/14/18/22/26% Shred duration: 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds Cool down: 12/11/10/9/8 Mana cost: 60/65/70/75/80 -- Mace: - No bonus effect, but costs less mana and has a lower cool-down timer. Cleave radius: 535 Angle: 50 Damage: 25/45/65/85/105 Cool down: 10/9/8/7/6 Mana cost: 30/35/40/45/50 -- Kusarigama: - The AoE attack will stop on the first enemy CHAMPION struck, still dealing damage but also slowing and tethering them to Gilgamesh. After a brief delay, the ability can be re-activated to stun and damage the target again. Enemies caught between Gilgamesh and his tethered target will also be damaged upon re-activating the ability. Cleave radius: 535 Angle: 50 (Cone will stop on the first enemy champion struck) Damage (re-activation damage is the same): 25/45/65/85/105 Tether radius: 800 Slow: 10/15/20/25/30% Wait before re-activation: 1.5 seconds Stun time: 1 second Cool down: 12/11/10/9/8 Mana cost: 60/65/70/75/80
#Style and tips: Gilgamesh is a top-lane fighter, though I imagine that he can jungle as well. No matter which role he's in, he is all about changing up which of his three weapons is in use in order to overwhelm and crush the opposition. His abilities all have some form of a benefit no matter which weapon is in hand (even if that benefit is simply being able to use that abilities more repeatedly). Players will have to read each situation and choose which of their three choices holds the best advantage for the fight.
As Gilgamesh: -- Try to get the weapon-swap pattern memorized. Unlike characters like Jayce or Elise, you have an extra "form" when you press R. Having to waste precious time pressing the button dozens of times because you keep accidentally missing the weapon you WANT to use may not punish you too directly (due to it having a low cool-down and no mana cost at all), but it will provide your opponent ample opportunity to take care of that themselves. -- Do not be afraid to use one of your abilities even if you're not holding one of its corresponding weapons. The reduced cool-down timer will mean the ability will be up sooner for you to use again, with or without the "right" tool this time, and the reduced mana cost makes it a little bit safer use the ability repeatedly. -- Gilgamesh is pretty item and take-down reliant, so enemies will likely try to abuse you early game. Try to use the CC on your Mace and Kusarigama to punish any aggression, and then the heal on your swords from "Overwhelming Force" to heal back up after a trade.
Against Gilgamesh: -- As already stated, Gilgamesh is pretty item and take-down reliant. Bullying him out of lane often is GOING to hurt him. But exercise caution where caution is due. With the heal and armor shred on his swords, he is not totally helpless against an engage. Not to mention that the CC on his other two weapons can help lock down an overly aggressive foe for an easy gank. -- There are a number of things to keep an eye on when facing this champion. His health bar, mana bar, and the icon showing what weapon he is using can all serve as indicators on what he may go for. A healthy Gilgamesh may be more likely to use the Mace or Kusarigama for the CC built into them to bully his opponent or to protect himself from incoming aggression, whereas a wounded one is much more likely to use the swords to try to heal up from "Overwhelming Force." And when he is low on mana, he may begin swapping weapons repeatedly in an effort to use the reduced mana cost as something of a safety net. -- Watch for when he uses "Skull Breaker." It is the only mobility built into Gilgamesh's kit, and is thus his only real escape in a pinch. And if he uses it while wielding the Mace or the Kusarigama, he will then have to wait even longer before he can use it again in order to get back out of whatever tight spot he just jumped in to.

jokes:
--Riven: sigh I knew I should've sprung for the blade warranty. --Gilgamesh: Lets out a terrified whimper because none of his weapons are insured --Riven: This is why I spent so much time sheathe shopping! --Gilgamesh: You only had to look for ONE sheathe!

for example is technically LISTED as a Tank first, and a Mage second. This means that a Cho'Gath going for a more Magic Damage oriented build will punch right through Gilgamesh's defenses. Even if Gilgamesh does get a few kills on the Terror of the Void, his passive will be granting him bonus armor due to Cho's "tank status", thus leaving him vulnerable to the incoming Magic Damage that his foe utilizes.
