Mortamose, The Mage of eternal curses (Repost from old Forum)
"I have a new idea for a champion, where his kit is based around hitting one ability and comboing into a giant nuke. The idea is that every so often the first ability he hits puts a timer on the victim for 10 or so seconds. More abilities add to the timer's affects and deduct or add time. Each ability has a normal, immediate affect like any other champion's ability. However, the normal affect will be heavily watered down, so that the timer detonation can be powerful, but not broken.
Passive: Every 3 abilities in which Mortamose hits his target, a timer for 10 seconds will be placed on the last target hit. After 10 seconds, the timer detonates, dealing 15/30/45/60/75/100 magic damage, plus whatever his abilities have added on, and applies any affects the abilities have added. (damage increase every 3 levels). Every time he casts an ability, all other abilities go on cooldown for .5 seconds.
Explanation: To sum it up, every third ability that hits the target, the target gets a timer mark. The mark explodes after X seconds, and does fun stuff. However, any additional abilities that land on the target do stuff, but add more happiness to the mark. This is the basis for his kit and play style. I made the damage as minimal as I could, but still of some importance. The .5 second cooldown is a way to make it so that enemies have a chance to react so that a Mortamose player can't just keyboard-face-smash and win a fight. The timer may need to be shortened.
Q: Mortamose curses his target with pain, dealing 60/70/80/90/100 (+60% of AP) magic damage to a single enemy. This deducts 1 second from the timer, and adds 50 (+60% of AP) damage to the detonation. Killing a unit with the ability will refund half the mana cost. 12/11/10/9/8 second cooldown. Costs 40/50/60/70/80 mana.
Explanation: This ability will probably be the first one to get and max out. The high damage will help trades where each player only has 1 ability to use. It may have a bit too much damage, so tell me if I need to nerf it.
W: Mortamose launches a plague spell in a straight line, dealing 20/30/40/50/60 (+20% AP) magic damage to the first enemy hit. Additionally, the target spreads the plague, afflicting all enemies that are nearby for more than 2 seconds. This ability adds 2 seconds to the timer and any other nearby enemies also receive the timer effect. When the timer detonates, the target(s) take 30(+20% AP) magic damage and are slowed by 30%. However, any victims besides the original target only take half the effect from this ability. 24/21/18/15/12 second cooldown. Costs 50/60/70/80/90 mana.
Explanation: This ability right here is the sole reason why Mortamose makes any presence in team fights, which is why it is a skill shot. That way, unskilled Mortamose players will have a hard time being useful late game. However, because of the cooldown, you are most likely going to be able to cast this only once per teamfight. This is also the first ability you should cast in a combo. Because it spreads, it can afflict large groups of people and combo many other abilities.
E: Mortamose curses all timer-afflicted enemies in a moderately sized area with a mirror curse. Any time the enemy damages Mortamose in the next 3 seconds, the enemy takes 10% of damage dealt. This deducts 2 seconds from the timer, and when the timer explodes, the enemy takes all damage again from the ability. 20/18/16/14/12 second cooldown. Costs 30/45/60/75/90 mana.
Explanation: This is Mortamose's only defensive ability, and even so, it does not prevent any damage. Basically, the purpose of it is to out-trade and out-DPS. This was intended. While Mortamose deals very high damage, he is incredibly fragile and thus can be hard countered, hard CC'd, and targeted in team fights.
R: Over 3 seconds, Mortamose draws power from all afflicted by his curse in a large area, dealing 100/150/200 (+60% AP) magic damage to all enemies that have a timer. He adds 1 second to the timer and heals for 50% of the damage dealt. He adds 50/75/100 (+80% AP) to the detonation and when it ends, the detonation deals 5% extra damage for every second on the timers when the spell was first cast (max 20% extra dmg). Costs 100/125/175 mana. 75/60/45 sec cooldown.
This is Mortamose's biggest damage ability. It can change teamfights, initiate, and counter an enemy initiation. However, in those 3 long seconds, it can easily be interrupted, thus you need to use it wisely, in order for it to be useful.
Ways to counter Mortamose: Silence, hard CC, build magic res. Focus in team fights, play safe early, deny farm.
Explanation: This champ is completely ability based, so any thing to keep him from using abilities will screw him over. If people can disrupt his ult, he will be much less useful in team fights. Focus him to kill him quickly, because he is the only one who can do anything with the timers. If he dies, the timers have nothing to do but detonate. He has no escape or CC so he should be an easy kill.
Build this guy with a fair amount of survivability early so you aren't killed right away. Zhonya's, abyssal scepter, and Reylei's are very useful items on him. Then quickly get heavy AP so that you can nuke anyone you want. Deathfire and Rabadon's are viable options. Also get magic pen, so that you can kill other mids. Void staff is almost required.
Lanes: Mid, top.
Roles, Nuker, mage, assassin.
Stats: Health: 392(+103) Attack Damage: 48(+3.2) HP regen: 4.2(+.6) Attack Speed: .62(+3.12%) Mana: 325(+36) Armor: 14(+3.15) Mana regen: 5.4(+.51) Magic res: 30(+0) Range: 525 Speed: 340
This is a very preliminary lore, so anyone can make whatever suggestions that they want.
Mortamose's lore: There once was a humble peasant boy living in a small village in Ionia, who went by the name of Mortamose. The village was constantly protected by the warriors of the village, and stood under the watch of Varus, the great archer.
However, one day, an exhausted messenger from a neighboring village came limping through the village gates. He was covered in blood, insane with fear, and on the verge of death. He wheezed a few sounds that were impossible to understand, but through the stream of gibberish, the word temple could be understood. Immediately after, Varus could be seen running out of the village, in the direction of the sacred temple, where the pit of corruption was kept. The remaining warriors armed themselves and prepared for whatever invasion force was approaching. The solders also instructed anyone over the age of forteen that was capable of fighting to grab any weapons they could find and prepare for battle. Mortamose being sixteen grabbed a hunting bow and a knife, and joined his fellow villagers at the walls of the village. The enemies soon appeared, and the banner of Noxus waved in the air. Then the Noxians were upon the village. A man with an enormous ax, followed by a man spinning giant axes led the way. The Noxians fell upon the Ionians and butchered them like swine. Mortamose fled to the back of the village, when a giant flaming stone hurtled through the air and blew open the vault of forbidden magic.
Mortamose ran into the building, frantically searching for any magic that could protect the village. A runic book fell open and several runes glowed as bright of the sun, branding their image into Mortamose's mind. With this new mysterious magic, Mortamose ran out again to meet this terrible enemy, but when he went outside, there was nothing but smoldering ruins, dead bodies, and a few Noxians looting any remaining houses or bodies. Enraged, he drew on the suffering of his friends before they had died and reflected that pain into each of the Noxians. As they fell dead of shock and pain, Mortamose drew on their agony from his terrible curse to empower himself. He wandered across Ionia, searching for any remaining village, but found none. In order to save himself and the endangered race of Ionia as a last life mission , Mortamose arrived at the League of Legends in search of powerful allies.
