Shaco VGU idea

So I love AP Shaco, and Riot nerfed AP Shaco when Shaco was first given a mini rework a while back because "one shot potential", yet they buff his AD side up constantly because people prefer to one shot. Problem with this is, players HATE Shaco. Especially when he can one shot them from stealth, so why does Riot focus on AD Shaco when AP Shaco has more counterplay and plays more on the defensive and has more outplay potential? Overall it's a much healthier playstyle and when you outplay with AP Shaco it's much more fun. Anyways, I thought up a rework idea for him that will keep his AD side in tact, but will focus much more on his AP side.

Passive - Backstab: Innate- Basic attacking an enemy from behind critically strikes for (30%AD)(+40%AP) bonus physical damage, increased to 1(100%AD)(40%) AP to monsters. Backstab cannot happen on the same target more than once every few seconds. I kept this the same because I feel like it's a pretty important part of Shaco's kit, and honestly couldn't think of a better passive for him.

Q - Deceive: After 0.125 seconds, Shaco blinks to the target location, temporarily becoming invisible for a few seconds. After exiting invisibiity, his next basic attack within 0.25 seconds deals bonus physical damage equal to 10/20/30/40/50+30% bAD+20% AP. If this attack is a backstab, reduce Deceive's cooldown by 8/9/10/11/12 seconds. The bonus physical damage cannot be repeated within 5 seconds.

Deceive is Shaco's in, but he normally has no out. This would give Shaco an out if he backstabs his opponent, I also reduced the bonus physical damage by 10% on both AP and AD Shaco for this.

W - Jack in the Box: Shaco summons a Jack in the Box at his target location, lasting up to 60(+5%AP) seconds. The box arms after a 2 second delay, becoming stealthed. Triggering the box will startle nearby enemies for 0.5 seconds as well as cause them to turn and flee for 0/0.25/0.5/0.75/1 seconds, during which they have a static 100 movement speed. Once triggered, the box will immediately start attacking nearby enemies, up to 1 at a time for 35/50/65/80/95(+20%AP) magic damage. Jack in the boxes have to be basic attacked 3 times, or hit with 2 abilities to be destroyed.

This is just a quality of life improvement for Shaco's boxes. Late game they can be destroyed before they even are armed.

E- Trick or Treat: Shaco summons a present at his target location, lasting up to 90 seconds(can only have 3 presents out at a time). The present arms after a 5 second delay, becoming stealthed. Champions can only trigger this present, and upon being triggered, the target champion is marked with Trick or Treat. After 5 seconds, if the marked champion is lower than 10/20/30/40/50% HP, they will be dealt 110/160/210/260/310+60% bonus AD + 100% AP damage, increased by 0-50% based on targets missing health. If the marked champion is above 50/40/30/20/10% HP, they will be healed for 55/80/105/130/155+60% AD +100% AP +0-50% based on current health.

I felt like Shaco's E really needed to be remade. Sure, it's a good ability, but I feel like Shaco himself doesn't have enough damage, which causes him to abuse on-hit items as well as Ezreal due to his ultimate, and ability to stealth. This new ability is meant as a risk/reward. If used well, you can finish off an enemy quite well, while if used poorly, you accidentally just healed your enemy. I haven't seen an ability like this in League before and I thought it might be an interesting concept, especially with the name Trick or Treat.

R - Trickster's Glass: When Trick or Treat is triggered, Shaco can activate Trickster's Glass to appear in the present's location while summoning a Hallucination of himself at his side, remaining within tether range of him as a controllable pet for up to 18 seconds. When Shaco uses an ability, the hallucination does at the same time, however the hallucination's ability deals no damage. Jack in the boxes do however activate the fear. When the Hallucination dies or expires, it explodes, dealing 200/300/400+100% AP damage in an area of effect and spawns 3 mini jack in the boxes, which become invisible immediately, share health, and activate one second later together. Champions marked with Trick or Treat have it's duration extended by 5 seconds. Mini jack in the boxes can be destroyed by 2 basic attacks or one ability.

I feel like Shaco's ultimate has always been somewhat lackluster. The damage is decent, but it's very difficult to get off a lot of the time, and even when it does, the boxes don't usually do anything. I made them arm immediately so they can't just be dealt with right off the bat, but also made it where they could be dealt with quicker than his normal jack in the boxes(since I gave them ward health basically). As for the teleport, I feel like it adds to the surprise factor of Shaco. I think it'd also be a lot of fun. Shaco can leave 3 presents, so if two are activated at nearly the same time, he'll teleport to the last one activated. However this also makes it where he can't create his hallucination on his own anymore. A downside to the new teleport.

Tell me what you think, if you have any suggestions feel free to add them. If you're worried this might be overpowered, just think about how much has to go right in Shaco's scenarios to pull it off effectively, as his only damage now would be tied to his Q and W, with the Q damage being nerfed for more utility. He'll only be powerful when Trick or Treat goes off and the enemy is below the health threshold. His ultimate can't be activated by himself exactly, etc.

Also just so you know I didn't gut AD Shaco. He should still be quite viable.

I'm agree with that.

I'm not agree with that, boxes can be as toxic as one shot from stealth

Passive - Backstab: Innate- Basic attacking an enemy from behind critically strikes for (30%AD)(+40%AP) bonus physical damage, increased to 1(100%AD)(40%) AP to monsters. Nothing to say here except riot need to fix what is backstab.

I like the idea of give more cdr to Q but I think it's too much because you are not thinking on cdr items. With 40% cdr Q has 8,4 cd, you have infinite Q. What about a % cdr instead of a fix value? like 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%? this would do that the 8,4 seconds would be 4,2, time enough to give enemies the chance to get him (remember Q gives him invisiblity too).

I don't like it honestly, I prefer the current one (three attacks to destroy one box is op as fuck).

E- Trick or Treat: Shaco summons a present at his target location, lasting up to 90 seconds(can only have 3 presents out at a time). The present arms after a 5 second delay, becoming stealthed. I like this idea, is new but maybe it's too much damage / heal (late is more than 1k damage easily) and i don't like the fact that is another pet to takes 5 seconds to get armed. Think on a teamfight, you almost never be able to use it, plus if it's a pet you can't just thorw to far from you or leave the place after put it because if enemy activates and you are not close you just will heal him.

What about this?: shaco jumps on an enemy (like Eve's E, Warwik's Q or Silas's E) tricking him to play a game for 5 seconds. If after those 5 seconds Enemy is below 50% life the mark explodes deaing damage to him and givins shaco a boost of movement speed, if he is above, marks heals him and gives movement speed aswell. (I think the movement speed is good to this ability :P )

R - Trickster's Glass: When Trick or Treat is triggered, Shaco can activate Trickster's Glass to appear in the present's location while summoning a Hallucination of himself at his side, remaining within tether range of him as a controllable pet for up to 18 seconds. This ult is just OP with E (now I understand XD) It gives you: instant global teleport, a clone, the chance to double fear duration and instant fear after clone explodes.

And you take away the chance to dodge abilities and doing drakes at 6.

Sorry but I don't like at all.

But I really appreciate your effort, let's keep this conversation pls, what do you think about my changes?

There's definitely some interesting concepts! We also now know that Shaco will not get a full blown VGU since Reav3 said that those will be greatly decreased.. I think that there is some great ideas that you've shown us and honestly you never know sometimes a rioter lurks and they may take your advice depending on when Shaco is set for an update :)
