Quick Backstory:

Unlike many of Ionia's warrior academy, Alia didn't find comfort with blades, she instead found a love for the snap of a bow and the wounding, rapid shots of arrows as they slice the wind in two. Instead of having to jump out of the shadows to kill a target, she finds pleasure in sniping foes from afar in the large canopies of trees, but when the time comes, Alia is down for quick and relentless pursuits.

Her methods have gotten her several honorary badges and awards, yet she isn't happy. No, she will not rest until every dark, twisted being is put down like the mad dog they are, no matter the cost. She stays awake some nights, thinking of the light she'll bring the next day through blood. A grin spreads across her face as she sharpens her rosewood arrows, takes one look out of her bedroom window, and blows out the dying light of melting candle before she allows the dark consume her.

"In life, service. In war, bravery. In peace, serenity. In death, honor." - Alia

How her Allies / Rivals play in.

Her Friends: Alia, Irelia, and Karma formed a pact to protect the world from evil-doers.

Rivals: Syndra and Zed are living embodiments of the dark. They represent everything Alia fights to free the world of. These people are her main targets, day in and day out.

Visuals:

Alia would be updated to have red hair flowing hair. Her armor would have a base of black, with a nice (blood-like) red trim. The metal would stay the same, either lighter or darker. To show off her good side, the amulet of Ionia would be present on her chest, hanging from a white ribbon in place of that choker.

My only problem is that her lore and kit are too... everywhere. She seems like she's supposed to be an adc but has good sustain, cc, AoE damage, an e that gives her a damaging escape, and an ult that lasts for too long and gives no problems when she moves. It works with Gangplank be doing the same thing but at least he needs to upgrade it. With her she can build whatever she wants and her ult is still powerful, and she can keep firing into it.

Then, her lore has her affiliated with too many people from too many areas. I don't think that Graves and Twisted Fate still work with Miss Fortune, Miss fortune seems too violent for Karma to be willing to associate with her, and why does a soldier have connections and the power to make a truce between three different nations?

She's too all over the place. She could use some more work. This is a fantastic concept, one with a lot of potential, but it feels too much like you want to accomplish everything in one character that could be spread across multiple.

If I could offer prompts-

What does this champion offer in gameplay that other champions don't?

How is this champion's thematics different from others?

How is the thematic expressed in the gameplay?

Don’t want to say ABlueQuaker is completely right, but I also associate Ionia with Asian Themes (Ninjas, Monks, Ronin etc.) and your archer currently lacks that vibe. Even Jhin the Black Sheep of Ionia, does feel mystical with his weird mask and mannerism.

Passive: Does target mean specific target ala Kindred or does it just mean enemy champion? In that case it would just be a better dangerous game combined with a snowbally Nasus passive. Name is already taken by Rumbles Ult btw and doesn’t fit IMHO.

Q: Sounds kinda overpowered, but that depends on what you mean with “extra target behind the first”. I feel like people will see condemn in this ability and that might warrant some changes.

W: Simple and safe, but boring. Interactions with other abilities or additional mechanical use would be interesting to see.

E: A lot like Kalistas passive. Slow is too low to be worth mentioning and instead of having multiple uses before it goes on CD, you could make this an ability that uses stacks that regenerate over time.

R: Worse GP Ult ? Considering the rest of the kit is about a nimble archer E that tries it hardest to keep enemies away Q, suddenly turning into a sitting duck feels out of "character".

Story: Archer that hunts evil-doers with a small hint of “He who hunts monsters” Not really that interesting in my opinion, especially since Varus the other Ionian archer pretty much has the “same” story.

Maybe she could disable turrets? (RIP item 3056 ^^)

long story short: I LIKE THIS!

Its a good idea but need alot of balancing your explosibe arrows has ALOT of both range and damage, the Passive of rapid health regeneratio ln once a uni is killed is reasiously op. And her ult dmg need to be reduced or radius reduced however all ideas i think are new and unique

Hammermancer2/1/2017, 11:30:35 PM1 votes

She needs to fight Nocturne

FloRaider422/1/2017, 11:54:43 PM1 votes

You just don't understand Alia.

That usually isn't a good way to start of, because A.) it sounds like you belittle me and B.) this could be partly your fault for not explaining her properly.

Q: Her Q and Vayne's condemn are different

Vayne fires a shot that stuns people when knocked into a wall with knockback Alia fires a shot that stuns people when there is an extra target behind the first

Sure they aren't the same thing, but they feel very similar with having similiar execution and effects, the only real difference is the requirements and the knockback.

W: If you visualized Alia fighting, you find her abilities to work together nicely.

Oh I did visualize her don't worry xD However what you listed hardly counts as interaction and more like a spell rotation. It works and does it's job, but it could be more interesting.

Also, what do you mean by stacks?

Passive: Periodically stores a charge of Skyward Leap, up to a maximum amount stored at once.

you would compare this to a backwards kindred move.

Or Caitlyn's E, but Kindred and Cait don't need enemies nearby to use their abilities for mobility which is why I went with kalista as she needs an enemy nearby to jump and throw spears

R: She is nimble in her early powers to be able to afford to sit like a duck and fire a storm of arrows.

An ult should be the ultimate representation of a champion, having it clash with the rest of the kit seems weird

who would pass through arrows to kill someone?

Assassins ? And since her ability is global you hardly ever will have it peel for you as you should probably use it globally.

I could change her global-ness to just a little ways away from her. Then, reduce the waves to one wave for x damage.

You could make her shoot one wave (without channel) that is composed of smoke arrows that block of paths for the enemy or force them inside a smokescreen to make her more of a trick archer You could keep the globalness and channel, but make her able to focus the fire (first cast starts ult and second cast chooses area, which gets smaller when you hold down the button) to make her more of a global sniper, while differentiating her from GP and etc. You could give her multiple uses upon pressing R making her able to choose each individual wave giving her less damage than GP, but more control.

I do appreciate this edits. I may not change her powers, but thanks anyways :D

NP, just happy to offer some different viewpoints

Also, I just read Varus' story... they are completely different.

Both were/are powerfull archer that embraced/embrace darkness to hunt down evil. Varus embraced the darkness to be able to fight the Noxians and she slowly succumbs to darkness while fighting evil. They share similiar themes and plotlines, which wouldn't be that big a deal wouldn't they also share the same nation and profession.

New W feels a bit weird on an ADC, considering you usually try to stay at range from your opponent (graves does this, but his whole kit is build around that fact). Overall it feels more like a Tank ability like Nautilus Q or Leonas E. Also it does contradict:

Instead of having to jump out of the shadows to kill a target, she finds pleasure in sniping foes from afar in the large canopies of trees

About the R: I was thinking more about a smokescreen that applies nearsight to enemies, which can help allies escape, gank or fight better, as it has a more stealth archer approach. The current effect is a bit too strong for a global ability, considering it basically is akin to Camilles R.

The Cool down begins once she uses all leaps, or 3 seconds of not using a leap. Each leap raises the cooldown by 2 seconds.

Can be removed, since it has a stack mechanic now. Btw a lot of champions use that mechanic Vi E, Teemo R, Caitlyn and Jhin traps etc.

I like that you took time to think of Sir Poodles prompts, but I would like to talk about your answers:

What does this champion offer in gameplay that other champions don't?

Alia is able to give safety because she can kite easily, she can keep the pressure off of herself and her partners. Caitlyn Tristana Vayne Kalista

Didn't judge bait potential, since that depends entirely on ELO.

How is this champion's thematics different from others?

She believes she is good, wants to be good, but she is slowly slipping into the dark.

Here is the thing: I a world like Runeterra where Void monsters cause chaos and dark magic kills people annually what is good and what bad ? It would help to know what she is even fighting: Does she hunt criminals and becomes a killer herself? Camille Does she hunt demons and becomes one herself? Tryndamere Does she fight the dark magics, but uses them herself? Yorick

How is the thematic expressed in GAMEPLAY?

DIALOUGE: Pentakill: (laughs) (Puzzled) Wait... Did I do that? Kinda like calming down after an adrenaline rush and realizing what you did. Laughing just makes her a normal killer.

Quadrakill: Grace, Accuracy, and... (pause) Elegance Reinforces that her old lessons are slipping from her mind. Being able to repeat it perfectly would make her more of a soldier Teemo

"This thing hungers for justice... almost as much as I do." Kinda makes it sound like blood = justice "I will make you drink the blood of the guilty" Makes clear that the blade is not good, but that she will use it to fight evil. "Fire to fight fire, evil to fight evil" "How can such a cursed thing even exist?" Magic swords aren't really rare in Runeterra from what we know.

VISUALS: "She wears the dark armor because she believes in the ability to have stealth" sounds perfectly reasonable to me and doesn't really hint at anything deeper IMHO. Things like "I wear red clothes, because it doesn't matter when they get covered by blood" ring some bells, but dark clothes are just harmless.

GAMEPLAY: ... ^That is my main problem with her current kit

Because Corki actually has an engaging power, Lucian's can be considered engaging because he can dash forwards or backwards.

Both of these abilities are more about chasing / keeping close, than getting right into the enemies face and have uses as escape tools, unlike your suggestion, which fits more along the lines of engaging, picking an enemy and CCing him. Corki also benefits from being close with his E whereas Alia is kinda screwed once close.

You're right, but I feel that if she is down for relentless pursuits an arrow barricade could work.

Maybe give more information on how big these obstacles are (can you dash, flash through the barricade?)

Alia just fights anything she can consider to be dark, or evil. If you need examples, think of Veigar, Syndra, Zed, etc.

Sry, but none of these are really evil: Zed is basically leader of Ionias Shadow Ops Veigar is self proclaimed evil and apart from causing trouble for bandle city hardly does anything that would garner ill will Syndra is a powerfull wobbie sitting in her floating castle and brooding Sure they are killing people, but they pretty much life in a medieval/steampunk fantasy world so who can blame them?

I was going based off of the accepted meanings of colors. Black = corruption / sin.

The color black relates to the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, and as a result it creates an air of mystery.

Alia believes she chose the armor because she wanted to conceal herself better, but her true dark nature is making her wear that armor to become more of person of shadow than an upholder of light.

The problem is that her clothing makes sense for her work. Also last time I checked wearing black doesn't make you more or less evil. I think you have some potential to make that mismatch more appearent. For example: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/overwatch/images/e/e5/Reaper_Menacing.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160415195937

http://pm1.narvii.com/6156/9dbd33d8823aedfe8ad2840892edf5deaceb5a7a_hq.jpg

are both black clothes with pretty much the same gadgets, but Trenchcoat and Mask do give some additional info on the character.
