So, when I applied to be a game design intern this summer at Riot Games, I thought up a champion design that I wanted to pitch. Since I got turned down, I figured I'd post it here for people to see and give feedback on.

Verdia, the Apothecary Support, Mage Stats: HP: 485+65/lvl HP/5: 6+1.3/lvl Mana: 420+60/lvl Mana/5: 7.4+1.8/lvl MS: 325 Armor: 17+1.8/lvl MR: 30 Range: 500 AD: 47+2.4/lvl AP: 0 AS: .625 + 1.5%/lvl.

Appearance: Verdia is a wizened old crone that lives on the outskirts of the Plague Jungles. She harnesses the many medicinal plants found within to help others. Whether to heal their wounds with soothing aromas infused with magic or stopping beasts and foes in their tracks with sleeping powder and aggressive insects.

Innate: Verdia must gather ingredients for her concoctions. Plants sprout around the rift. The longer the plants go without being harvested, the more ingredients Verdia can gather. Verdia gathers ingredients naturally over time as well. Verdia can hold up to 10 ingredients at a time. Enemies can harvest the plants to keep Verdia from harvesting Ingredients.

Q: Sleeping blossom Verdia plants a sprout that blossoms over time to release a pollen of soothing gas when disturbed. Enemies that walk through the pollen are slowed for 15/20/25/30/35 +(.07 AP)% while inside the cloud and for 1 second after they leave. Enemies that stay in the cloud for more than 2 seconds begin to inhale toxic amounts of pollen, taking 90+(10/20/30/40/50 +(.2 AP)) damage per second for each second they stay in. The pollen cloud persists for 10 seconds. Each plant can release up to 1/2/3/4/5 clouds of pollen before the flower dies. When the flower dies, it drops 1 ingredient for Verdia to pick up. Enemies can walk over the ingredient to destroy it. Plants that remain undisturbed for 5 minutes wilt and die. it takes 2 seconds for a plant to grow large enough for it to release a pollen cloud. Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 Mana and 1 ingredient. Cooldown: 5 seconds Range: (To plant) 400 units AoE: (Size of the pollen cloud) 300 Units Trigger radius: (Same as Cait Traps, except allies can disturb the plant too)

W: Aromatherapy Verdia throws a bag full of soothing spices that bursts in the area. Allies standing in the cloud of soothing fragrances heal for 30/45/60/75/90(+.2 AP) health per second. The soothing aromas last for 2/3/4/5/6 seconds. (Total of 60/135/240/375/540+(.4/.6/.8/1.0/1.2 AP)) Cost: 60/75/90/105/120 Mana + 3 ingredients Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds Range: 700 AoE: 300 units

E: Pollinator Swarm Verdia causes plants to magically sprout all over a target. If the target is an ally, Swarms of humming bees will create a barrier shielding the ally from 90/125/160/195/230(+.5 AP) Damage for 5 seconds. When the ally takes damage, bees will chase the attacker dealing 45/60/75/90/105(+.4 AP) Damage. This effect can trigger up to 3 times if the shield is up. On an enemy, Swarms of insects will chase the target for the next 5 seconds dealing 12/28/44/60/76 (+.15 AP) damage each second. Range: 550 Cost: 70/70/70/70/70+2 ingredients Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11 seconds.

R: Enveloping Steel Bud. Verdia causes a giant blossom to sprout under an ally, growing and following them for 6/7/8 seconds. Upon the ally reaching 20% of their HP, the flower swallows them, making them untargetable and healing them for 30/45/60(+.1)% of their maximum HP over 5 seconds. The bud can be targeted during this time. If the bud takes 10 basic attacks before the time is up, the bud withers away, releasing the target and cutting the healing short. The Plant can only follow the allied champion so far before it can't grow and withers away, if the plant withers away without protecting an ally, the flower will drop 3 ingredients where it withered up. Cost: 100/100/100 Mana + 5 ingredients Cooldown: 120/100/80 seconds Range: 700 (To target the ally) Range: (For the plant to follow the ally) 1200 units

W: a 900(+1.2)ap heal on a 6 second cooldown? even if it cant be used effectivly during a fight it gives insane sustain.

R: How long does it last? Pretty op if it lasts for a long amount of time.

Overall i really like this concept!

Im not sure who down voted your concept but I think it's pretty good. The abilities are pretty basic though, but I like the Idea of another Zoning support (like Zilean) and most of the gamers I know like basic abilities as long as it has a small twist.
