Things to Keep In Shaco Rework

  1. He needs to remain the slipperiest champion in the game. I think if you removed his ability to be extremely slippery, anyone that plays Shaco will hate you forever because thats what makes him fun to play. The ability to be in the middle of everything and then POOF gone.

  2. Great early ganking. This is what makes Shaco viable. If you remove his great early ganks, he just becomes another Assassin jungler that is known for bursting. That would be horrific.

  3. The chaos theme. Everything Shaco does should make the enemy think twice before performing action. Where did he go? Should I go this way? Should I attack Shaco now? Everything Shaco does should make the enemy actually think and not just go "There he is! ATTACK!"

I can tell Shaco is coming to the front lines of Visual Updates and Gameplay Updates since he looks pretty bad and compares to some other really bad looking characters with his super bad model (currently being around Poppy, Taric, Urgot, and Kassadin level). I just wanted Riot to know what to not remove from the clown since gameplay changes typically go with Visual Updates to "modernize" a champion.

Yeah... because that's oh-so-much fun for his opponents. "Hey, I just did a whole bunch of damage and then slipped away!"

Actually, how about a different angle. If Shaco remains all those things, where are his areas of weakness and counter play?

his extreme squishiness, his awful teamfight, visionwards destroy him, awful box activation time(but im pretty sure they arn't keeping this skill). I mean, there is a reason he is never played in lcs even tho he is so slippery.

Shaco is foiled by crowd control, countered by true sight, has only one form of AoE damage which is the DEATH of his clone, he has only moderate burst that relies on basic attacks, he is squishy, and his poke is either great or terrible (melee or ranged). On the up side he has an innate permanent slow, a free flash with invisibility, nearly unmissable (Fizz) poke, and great objective control. His pushing is also a decent bit above average.

His down side is the main reason he isn't played because it is SO impactful on the game. He, arguably, is the worst champion in team fights ever. He has no true AoE in his basic three abilities and his ultimate is primarily used to confuse enemies, deal significant damage to ONE target, and (if you are good at timing) dodge abilities. Thats his down side. He can only damage one target with a full combo in a team fight unlike many other Assassins (Kha'Zix W and E, Fiora R, Yi Q, Fizz E and R, etc.). He also has little impactful crowd control in team fights as well although his perma slow basic attack is great early game. He is the anti-team fight champion.

Also, he can;t deal a whole bunch of damage and then slip away unless they give him another mobility move (which would be insane). Half his burst is used with his Q (mobility) to deal a critical hit. I really doubt they would change his kit much since most of the people who I know that have figured out HOW to play him really love his kit although I do believe they will probably take away his perma slow.

Shaco's great early ganking is being indirectly nerfed because of how S5 jungle will work. Go watch Stonewall's videos on S5 jungle; it'll probably kick your ass unless it is nerfed. The buffs will also spawn at 2:30, and every other camp in jungle will spawn at 1:55. Sorry.
