what does Balista in Nexus Siege mean?

In case if you haven't played it yet, the new RGM nexus siege has a summoner spell called Balista ehich is a turret that shoots enemy turret. I wonder if it is a reference to the Balista combo(Blitzcrank+Kalista).

A ballista is a siege weapon. If I'm remembering correctly it's almost like an enormous crossbow.
