Sona Kit Rework Idea

Apparently my friends and I agree on this: Sona is a spambot, no matter how you look at it. Her kit may be designed to be that way, which is not a bad thing. However, after all those nigh-consecutive nerfs she’s got, we thought that it might be time for a kit rework and make her less of a spambot. So I showed my friends this idea and they told me to post it here to see what others would think of it. Well, here goes...

————————————————————————————————————————

Sona, Mistress of the Etwahl

Role: Support

NOTE: Since this is a rework idea for Sona’s kit, her stats are left untouched

————————————————————————————————————————

PASSIVE - Forced Accord

Every 6 seconds, Sona’s basic attacks mark her target with Forced Accord for 3 seconds. If a marked enemy takes damage from an ally champion, the mark is consumed and an additional [15 x level] + [12.5% AP] magic damage is dealt. Consuming Forced Accord on any enemy marks the closest enemy to the marked target for 3 seconds.

Continuous marking range: 325 units from previous marked unit.

————————————————————————————————————————

Delay (Q, skillshot)

Sona strikes a note in a direction. If an enemy unit is hit, it becomes Delayed for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds and allows Sona to cast Dissonance within 2.5 seconds. If Dissonance is not cast, the enemy hit takes 70/100/140/190/250 + [35% AP] magic damage.

Dissonance (Q, recast, targeted)

Sona redirects the played note to an enemy target, dealing 70/100/140/190/250 + [70% AP] magic damage to her target, slowing it by 50% for 2 seconds and Delays it for 2 seconds.

Enemies inflicted with Delay have an additional 0.5 seconds cast time on their abilities.

Cooldown: 13 seconds (cooldown counts upon casting Delay) Cost: 70 Mana (No Cost for Dissonance) Delay range: 750 Dissonance cast range: 500 units from Delayed target (target must be within 1000 units from Sona)

————————————————————————————————————————   Soothing Melodies (W)

Sona plays a relaxing tune, healing herself and nearby ally champions for 22/34/46/58/70 + [15% AP] each second. Reactivate to cancel this ability.

If Soothing Melodies remains in effect for at least 4 seconds, the Mana cost increases by 50% and, in addition to healing, Sona shields herself and nearby ally champions for 80/100/120/140/160 + [20% AP] damage for 3 seconds. This shield is refreshed each second as long as her allies remain near Sona and can stack up to a value of 240/300/360/420/480 + [60% AP].

Cooldown: 12 seconds (after terminating Soothing Melodies) Cost: 40/50/60/70/80 Mana per second AoE radius: 600

————————————————————————————————————————

Song of Temperament (E, skillshot)

Sona plays the Song of Temperament and infuriates allied champions, increasing their Bonus Attack Damage or Ability Power (adaptive, based on each ally) by 10/20/30/40/50 + 5/10/15/20/25% for 4 seconds.

Cooldown: 22/21/20/19/18 seconds Cost: 70/85/100/115/130 Mana Range: 800 HItbox width: 170 units Projectile speed: 2000

————————————————————————————————————————

Chorus of Onslaught (R, skillshot)

Sona strikes her etwahl, releasing a soundwave that deals 150/250/350 + [20% AP] magic damage to the first enemy champion hit. Ally champions near the struck enemy become invulnerable for 2/3/4 seconds.

Cooldown: 160/135/110 seconds Cost: 125/150/175 Mana Range: 1200 AoE invulnerability radius: 600 HItbox width: 140 units Projectile speed: 2400 Animation delay: 0.2 seconds

Pyrrio, all your abilities are WAY overtuned, & the E ability would be to complicated to balance. The Ult change would just be taric but on steroids and would make him useless compared to sona. Overall I personally don't like your changes and I do like the current Sona.

This is my opinion though, and your allowed to have yours.

As as Sona player I really like this concept, the musical theme is so wasted on her at the moment. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the ult, I really like her current ult and I'd love it to be kept when she does eventually get reworked.

Okay, I like a lot of the concepts here, but I have a few issues.

  1. The first thing I noticed was the names of the skills. God those are terrible. I'd rename them to something a little more like her previous abilities.
  2. Forced Accord seems... annoying? Like, incredibly so? I get that it would help Sona CS in a solo lane, but in a duo lane where her partner can proc it consistently, it just forces enemies to stay away from their own minions, and makes your ally's CS way easier, too. Plus I really liked her old passive, which rewarded clever stringing together (no pun intended) of her abilities to produce different effects.
  3. Her Q is very strange. I don't like it. I don't like that it's a 50% slow for 2 seconds at level 1, I don't like that it increases cast times, I don't like that the "skillshot" just needs to hit any enemy before it can be redirected to another enemy (kinda defeats the purpose of having a frontline, or hiding behind your minions), and I definitely don't like that its scaling is non-linear.
  4. I like the idea of a toggle W, that would be really cool, but the shield portion of it seems really bad. I mean, it's very powerful, don't get me wrong, but having a shield that takes 4 seconds of her spending a minimum of 160 mana to apply it? That seems pretty bad. It seems like by the time the shield pops up, it's too late to actually shield anyone from damage. What I'd do is I'd change it so that instead of applying the shield at the end of the cast, I'd add the shield to the start of the ability, so you can actually time it well and show some reaction time skill. If you really wanted the feel of it getting stronger over time, you could increase the healing power the longer she has it toggled on, or you could give it the Kassadin ult treatment. Keep it as it is now, but lower the cooldown and make each consecutive use increase in power and mana cost. In fact, that would be a cool idea for her passive, and would keep the theme of tempo and balance.
  5. I really don't like the idea of Sona giving an enemy ADC or assassin 50+25% AD for 4 seconds. I dislike it even more how it applies to all her allies instead of just one. What's even worse is if I miss it, or if my ally unexpectedly has to flash/dash out of it. I like the idea of her buffing allies, but taking away her movement speed would just make her a sitting duck. This iteration of her damage buff is just so one-dimensional.
  6. I gotta agree with Pyrrio here, I really like her old ult. This one is flat out broken. Instant 4 second invincibility on multiple allies... what were you thinking?

Or just change her skills to just playing a note, where you have to key in combinations for different effects like playing a tune (listed under her passive)
