New tank item concept Frozen Plate

So i was thinking of a defensive item and i came up with a unique idea

Name of the new armor is Frozen Plate Buildpath requires these items item 1011 item 3801 item 3024 and has a 950 combine cost to form Frozen Plate

Frozen Plate 3600 Gold 600 Health 300 Mana 35 Armor 75% Health regeneration 10% Cooldown reduction

Unique passive: Icy Barrier; Every 50-level seconds forms an icy barrier around the wearer. This barrier blocks 5xlevel + 5% of the users maximum health damage. The cooldown is reduced by 1 second for every 5xlevel + 5% current health damage taken before resistances are applied. Whoever breaks the barrier is dealth half the barriers strenght in magic damage, receives a 30% slow which decays over 1 second and is grounded for the duration of the slow.

The item is 90,14% gold efficient But the passive makes up for not being gold efficient

The passive does a number of things

  1. It protects you from damage every so often
  2. Punishes the person who breaks the shield with a tiny bit of damage and decaying slow + grounded debuff.
  3. The passive scales with levels, meaning it will be more frequent the higher level you are and since it gives a shield it will act as a multiplier for your other tank items
  4. The lower you are on health the more frequent the barrier becomes.

The item will turn you into a bit of a hot potato as the barrier pops up quicker the lower you get on health it (not crazy fast though) And then whoever breaks the barrier is hit with a bit of damage and a small amount of cc.

The stats on the item are way too high and it offers too many things. However your idea for the passive is interesting.

Still figuring out the stats right now its 90,14% cost efficient, Doesnt give much armor or mr but will let you sustain nicely with the mana and hp regen, but you will need other items to boost the passive like extra resistances.

And yea the passive is the shiny thing about it ^^

its pretty good but shouldn't be too overwhelming, and it serves a bit as an anti mobility tool, but your opponents can play around it by letting the support or tank break the passive on it and tenacity will reduce the grounded duration too.

if i had to give an estimate as to how many times you would get to use the barrier in combat taking into account you start a fight with the barrier, then depending on how healthy you are it would be something like this; Level 6 1-2 barriers (you probably wont have item yet xD) level 11 2-3 barriers most likely 2 though level 16 3-4 barriers most likely 3 Level 18 full build 4-5 depending on build

Obviously it also depends on how long you can stay alive or whether you are immediately focsed down etc etc.

The strength of the item is probably that it is the only cooldown item that builds both health and armor which a lot of champions that scale on health would love (sejuani, nautilus, sion, etc.) The big problem is that the health is too high. Banner of command is the only other tank item that grants 5 things and a passive (albeit for 2900 gold) but the health is only 200. Plus, cooldown has become quite a big thing in this meta and this would be the only item that grants health, armor and cooldown so for just those stats alone the item would be pretty powerful.

The passive is good, but the stats are not. Let me explain...a tank item shouldnt cost that much and shouldnt give you that much. It could be something like this: Frozen Plate 3200 Gold 400 Health 200 Mana 30 Armor 10% Cooldown reduction

Maybe im not sure though, with the cost and stats i posted the item is 90,14% gold efficient, so its not even gold efficient and you need some extra items & levels for the passive to scale up.

It sure is expensive, but i dont really understand why a tank item cannot be expensive,
