Want soloq? stop bitching start acting, this is how you get it back.

So Riot thought lets make a dynamic queue more premades less toxicity more accesible to casuals and will probably increase our income/playerbase

Most likely, they never planned on re-releasing soloQ yes they promised etc etc but, they are just stalling waiting for the fallout to blow over and continue as if nothing happened.

Just think about it for a second they put in money and effort to make dynamicQ a thing to increase their revenue and they want a return on investment. Enabling soloQ will take solo players out of dynamicQ vastly increasing queue times which will make it fail.

You really want soloQ that bad? The only solution is to stop playing ranked solo and not spending money!

The queue time will increase and increase and their revenue will dwindle and it will force them to enable soloQagain again to stop it

As players we do have a say in what Riot does, just not by spamming the boards with please bring back soloque and other kinds of whimpy bitching but rather by hitting them where it hurts untill they give us soloQ

If people continue to play ranked and spend money anyways then Riot really wont have any incentive to change things. After all Riot is a bussiness they make money and therefore will act accordingly to whatever makes them the most.

Is that game pay to win?

disregardable4 votes

Nope! You can pay tons of money and still lose. :D Totalbiscuit's early hearthstone videos are great examples. Dude had every single card and couldn't get past Rank 20 (the equivalent of Bronze 5).

FastAsHeck5 votes

its not at all, I haven't spent a single penny and I'm sitting on a bunch of Legendaries (5-6 I think) and many other cards. If you look up decks online you will see that many good decks often include even basic (free) cards. Finally the Gold prices are fair, and you can get a free pack every week on tavern brawl. The only advantage paying players get is solo adventures (which are awesome) and the card rewards these give.

Leetri3 votes

It's terrible for new players though, really hope Standard will improve that. You could argue that it was P2W because a LOT of the best cards are locked behind a paywall that takes months and months of play to earn enough gold for (Naxx, for instance), but now that those cards will rotate out it will give everyone a better shot. Still wish they gave more dailies that are not "win X games", I have a decent collection and sometimes it's impossible for even me to win even once with all the golden portrait players with legend tier decks sitting around rank 20 to farm gold from new players.

yeah i took a large break until now because I wanted to wait for soloq .... a lot good that did me

Let me share my story on why I am quitting ranked.

  • Your MMR and rank are most likely not in conjunction with your skills. You were probably lucky enough to have been teamed with a booster.
  • Almost every single game, there is a duo queue. Your team, enemy team, it doesn't matter. And they either dominate or they feed, together. It got so repetitive that ranked solo queue is no longer fun.
  • Majority of these duo queue act as one. If one trolls or AFK's, the other will too. If one sucks, the other will too.
  • Duo queue ruins the game especially when one of them is 1 tier higher than the other. It could benefit you if that 1 tier higher player is on your team, but then, did you really earned the win?

I wanna compete based on my skills and with people that are in the same skill range as me. I'm sick and tired of queuing for ranked and pray that I get carried by duo queue. Or get dominated by an enemy who is being boosted.

First and foremost, stop paying Riot anymore money. Stop supporting them until they give you what you want. Secondly, stop playing ranked solo queue as per OP said. Draft pick is just as fun, you can play any champ in any role. Lastly, stop whining and start acting.

Lettow14 votes

The pros are unhappy with the current situation (look at players like Hai, Bjergsen, Froggen, and many others), many players are unhappy with being matched with premades, others want a queue that reflects individual skill better. There are so many good reasons for soloQ, but Riot won't even talk to the community honestly about it. I haven't played much this season, just stuck waiting for a queue that now seems like it may never come out.

True, $$ and subscriber numbers have always spoken louder than words.

It does feel like the norms times are getting longer and the matches are more lopsided.

A Liberal9 votes

My last game was five solos vs two duos, we still won (because the rengar would only gank his buddies lane and the botlane duo was tied at the hip), but it was really frustrating for our botlane and top lane to have to fight against this coordinated BS. Luckily, I pooped all over Zed as morg until vayne could catch up and start hyperscaling, but still. Extremely irritating, I dont know why they allow this.

Daezhar8 votes

Are you in bronze-silver ? Because I've never seen Zed losing to Morgana and i can't even imagine it in higher elos

Aír8 votes

Get zhonyas. If he ults Then just ult and bind. Make sure to walk close enough that he cant shadow back. Then zhonyas his final ult proc or when he does too much. I have done it. It is not impossible if you play it right.

ya boi shaq2 votes

Morg wouldve died multiple times before having the money for zhonyas

Aír5 votes

i mean, sure if she is dumb and over extends, letting zed get close to her. But any self respecting morgana knows that Zed appears behind her after he ults and can aim the bind there.

I am not saying that morgana will always win against zed. I am just saying that playing morgana against a zed is more a skill matchup (and a farm matchup in that matter) rather than "You playing morgana against a zed, so not matter what you do you will lose".

So yeah, I would not have died against zed multiple times. That would only happen if I stayed in lane low health, if I was overextended and ganked, if I was eating every bit of poke he gives me, or if I am underfarmed. Which is the case for most matchups (with a few exceptions of course).

SH Azykan9 votes

What? Morg can play incredibly safe and hard punish zed for over reaching to get aggressive. I don't even rush a zhonya in that matchup, start corrupting, get double dorans into RoA and then Zhonya.

Take teleport, post 6 tp bot and get 2 kills for your team.

You might not kill the Zed (actually you may now with maw nerf) unless he does something incredible stupid. but you aren't going to feed kills unless you do something incredibly stupid. And if zed ults someone, that is a free bind on him and a LOT of damage.

It is one of the few matchups where I dont rush a FQC on morg mid, but just because I have to change my build doesn't cripple the matchup.

~Someone who HAPPILY takes Morgana into Zed mid

A Liberal1 votes

Yeah I am, and admittedly the zed was bad, but our Xin jungle helped me get two early kills because I was simply farning under turret. I had a lot better cs than zed and with a couple kills to get the snowball rolling I was able to finish my roa and zhonyas and there wasnt much anyone could do.

I had a really funny moment when rengar tried to catch me behind dragon while I was roaming bot. Luckily I saw the bola strike and was able to q-r-w-ignite and he got deleted.

I think it It put him on tilt because he started raging at his team in chat afterwards xD

HexaDecimel4 votes

I am not sure why you keep saying it was a Zed. Your Team was Leona XinZhao Graves Morgana Vayne and they had Thresh Tristana Trundle Rengar Swain . I am assuming you laned against Swain, and none of your other recent matches with Morgana had a Zed.

A Liberal2 votes

Oh your right it was a swain, I must have lanes against a zed recently too, idk. In any case, the point that I was against two duos still stands.

A Liberal3 votes

Honestly I just wanted to point out that I was against two duos and this comment thread has become a trainwreck

never understood how solo Q ever reflected skill in the first place since the shear randomness and how toxic and troll ridden this community is its almost impossible to play at your best at all since News flash this....is...a....team....game....

6KEMBE4ORBA7 votes

This is true, but as you already said - the majority of ppl are very addicted/don't care or just simply put - they continued to play ranked/spend money even despite being presented with DQ as the only option. And this is all that Riot needs.

I haven't played LoL since Dec 2015 and I don't intend to play at all if Riot won't at least introduce separate ranked ladders for Solo/Group MMRs.*

**True SoloQ being the ideal and most logical solution. **

Also the new fancy (but retarded) champ select with its spiralling down problem of Support/Fill role is another issue that needs serious thought processs and/or major overhaul as a system.

DeloricVI5 votes

You see, there is a point where I disagree with you. You say "Riot is a business, therefore, they will always prioritize what makes more money (or, in this case, prioritize what loses them the least amount of money in the long run)." Just because there's a business doesn't mean that Riot as an entity is a hive mind of corporate robots. There are some people that genuinely want this game to be great.

If they only cared about money, why would they give you the chance to earn free shit with hextech crafting? Why would they bother to reduce the prices of champions every once in a while?

Anyway, that's a bit beside the point, but I'm tired of people saying that Riot is this big, reptilian entity that only cares about money.

Onward, then...

What Riot wanted to do with dynamic queue is essentially create a team builder that people would actually use. In a perfect world, the community would play both a solo and dynamic queue out of preference in pretty substantial numbers. However, this is not a perfect world and there are many outside factors that contributed to the failure of team builder in the first place. People say team builder doesn't matter, not enough people played it so the queue times were abysmal, thus circularly killing off any audience it had in the first place. More people quit because of the terrible queue times, and thus the queue times get worse.

A lot of people feel like dynamic queue and solo queue can exist at the same time, but I highly doubt that that is the case. Solo queue is highly competitive, and may draw more of the hard core players that don't like to support, alleviating the queue times in dynamic queue, but realistically you know this community will shame anyone who wants to play dynamic queue, because it's "not a true ranked ladder experience" or it's "for people to get boosted by their friends."

The social pull of the community is not to be underestimated. Solo queue will probably just overtake this mode if it's released again. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily, but I for one like this type of mode and would hate to see it go... that is, if it had it's issues straightened out. Sure I have some issues with it, but they're pretty minor and can probably be sorted out. I'll complain a lot about it, but really I'm just complaining about people who abuse the system and ruin my games because of it, not so much dynamic queue itself.

these are actually really common business practices. box stores do this all the time. my local grocery has both sales and the monopoly prize game, and its all to increase profits. i dont know exactly how it works, but something to do with increasing interest in the store (more visits) increases money spent long-term. Riot wants us to play more, and invite more friends, which will theoretically increase sales in the long term.

people saying Riot is "evil" are just exaggerating cause theyre upset. but dont think for a minute that income isnt a huge priority for them. League is now a huge game with a MASSIVe amount of subscribers (which were gained extremely quickly), and since theres no subscription fees... they need to make waaaay more mulah now just in order to maintain their upgraded infrastructure. i feel a bit bad for them. but only a bit. they couldve only sold like..... half their souls to satan at least....

DeloricVI1 votes

Yeah, I guess I am getting a little agitated as well. I get it; if you're not on par with one or the other (i.e. you're really good with most champions, but don't play with friends or play a lot of games) you're probably going to buy either a chest or a key if you don't want to get a stockpile of either. And, yeah, it does increase interest a little.

However, I feel like hextech crafting was meant for the players, and Riot wanted to reward the die-hard players out there. That's just my interpretation.

I was just pointing out that Riot can do a lot more slimy things than they actually end up doing. Electronic Arts and Ubisoft get away with shit like microtransactions to help you win in the middle of a game (purchasing ammo with cash) or they could just keep all champions at 6300 ip, so it takes fucking forever to get any champion at all without grinding the equivalent of a human lung's black market value, or just shelling out to actually get something useful. They also could keep making champions that are strictly better than previous ones on purpose so you'd have to buy it, but they don't.

Either way, my point about the queues still stands.

I've only played a handful compared to my usual dozens... I've almost kicked the LoL habit for good. Each time I try to forget about Dynamic Queue and play a game it keeps backfiring terribly.

And in the end there are still millions of players playing League, so not much is lost for them.

Anyone reading anything from any forums barely scratch the surface of the playerbase, the vast majority are those who don't. No readers, no one's gonna bat an eye about boycotting.

So really, in the end, nothing changed, and SoloQ will never be live.

Let me correct you:

"Premades + solos + no possible way of tracking the new variables introduced by DQ, all of this put in the same MM pool and ranked on the same ladder."

If you think that's competitive (when there isn't even a ingame voice-comm) you are delusional.

Stand Alone Wolf3 votes

Or it backfires.

Here at the RiotHQ, we've been looking at the numbers, and notice the amount of soloq players has drastically gone down. With that, we will be focusing more of our time in Dynamicq as this is where most of our players get together.

Or God knows what else.

To all you delusional idiots who think Riot is only after money: They don't need to be. If someone is gonna purchase RP, they don't need incentive and won't be deterred.

I also consider it highly unlikely that they intended to reintroduce soloQ (seems illogical to have both) but anyone below dia+ is kidding themselves if they think dynamicQ affected them.

Buddy Riit is only after money. It's not even an argument man; you're just painfully and awkwardly wrong.

If Riot started losing money; things would change drastically.

But but where's your proof? Every business in existence... Even the ones that look like they do good for their community or their customers. Learn this, there is one driving force here: it is money.

So I'd apologize to the "delusional idiots" because they put your intelligence to shame.

Honestly, all I want is clarity, if there will be a solo Q, I want to know when. If there won't a solo Q, fine, then I can either adapt by searching for enough friends to always have people to play with or throw this game in the garbage bin.

What I don't like is beyond led like a cat after a toy, never really in reach to get it but always close enough to have it taunting me. Riot should take a stance, and allow players to take a stance. If there won't be a soloQ then just grow a fucking pair and announce it already instead of pussying out.
