Iere - The Maestro Spikemancer [Champion's Suggestion] [Concept + illustrations]

About the character: I was inspired by the song "Winter" by Antonio Vivaldi, the symphony of the four seasons. I imagined the spikes of magic coming out of the walls and a tower in the rhythm of the music, and so I imagined the character creating the attacks as if it were a conductor guiding an orchestra. Because he had a "pompous" magic, I imagined him in poses like Jojo bizarre adventure hahahaha. Furthermore, I imagined that Iere could be a mage of Demacia who, while using magic for the nation, is simply "endured" because of his loyalty and competence in service. And for that, Iere could be a person in favor of the ideals of the Sylas, but he is against the violence that Sylas uses. I had the initial idea of passive just because he was a wizard in a country that hunts wizards that is publicly in favor of the magicians being allowed in the nation would certainly be the target of several people who would try to assassinate him and silence him once and for all. Or could he be someone who uses a real ice weapon (a wand of a maestro, why not?), Saw the civil war being waged within Demacia and decided to go there himself in order to offer a less violent solution Sylas was looking for. PS: The symphony of the four seasons of Vivaldi recomposed by Max Richter was also the main inspiration for another suggestion of champion that I made, Lienza, the witch of the knots. Note: I have the habit of thinking about new skills and passives in the field of observation (OBS) of each skill, and leave them there for mere "ah, that's how I thought about this skill, but I do not know if there would be a better way to do it" or something like this. This is why you will see some observations written by skills you have already read.
Skills:
- Passive - Recital: There will be a small screen above Iere skills where the right times to use each skill will appear, creating a Melody. The more notes you hit, the shorter the reload time of the skills and more mana will be gained. Adding or missing a Recital note resets the Melody, returning the original reload times of the skills. (imagine a mini guitar hero).
- Q - Score: Activating this ability causes spells of Spikes to advance from the walls, following a straight line area defined by the mouse. If two parallel piercing spikes meet, they create two more spikes that pierce in perpendicular directions. NOTE: The intent is that this ability could be activated several times, but not too great damage. I also do not know for sure what the most effective way to apply this ability is because I had the initial intention of having a rhythm. The player would need to activate this ability within a specific period of time to be able to reactivate more than once. As if it were some sort of "guitar hero". Or would it be better to put it as passive? - W - Presto: It shots a wave that hits a wall, explodes and launches projectiles in the direction of the mouse at the time of the explosion. If the mouse is beyond the wall, the projectile will start from the wall and towards the mouse, crossing it. Going through a champion with this ability before reaching a wall also deals damage. - E - Vibrato: Iere makes an ice pillar rise from the floor. The maximum limit of pillars at the same time is 3, stacking more than one pillar on the other also accumulates the number of perforations of Spikes (ex: 3 pillars on top of the other = 3 perforations on top of the other). Pillars have life, if Iere hit these pillars with basic attacks reduces their lives, but emits a wave of freezing slowness in an area around it. Staying on top of the pillars increases the range of Spikes and Presto by x seconds.
- R - Tutti Finale: Upon reaching the average Recital Melody, Iere forces its magic to the fullest and the last skill used (Score or Presto) is cast from all walls in an area around Iere in the Recital rhythm. Using Tutti Finale with Melody at the maximum will make an extra pillar come out.
Final considerations: I also had the idea of making his passive something involving the seasons, where autumn would have leaves on the ground and would give to see them to be stirred even outside the field of vision of the personage. BUT, what would that add on the character? I could do all these thematized skills in the seasons, but I do not see much reason to do this, I already feel that I got what I wanted with the skills the way they are. I also had the idea of these magical spikes being made of solid ice and having some kind of interaction like blocking the path or causing slowness to enemies. After reflecting for a while, I realized that I would add yes if his abilities were in fact based on the seasons, as W - Presto will be (because of the "heat" of the explosion), winter like E - Vibrato (freezing and creating a wall), spring as Q - Score (trees growing from the walls) and passive as autumn. This, of course, would make more sense if he was originally from Demacia. I also thought of an alternate version for E - Vibrato, that he would come out generating an ice wall while he walked, that could create a better offensive for him in the trades, maybe? Maybe I could add the option, if I activated this ability on a wall of the map, would extend the wall. Who knows, could it help to balance things more?
- Previous Passive: Passive - Snowy Day: Walls near the Iere freezes and cause slowness to those who touch them. Invisible enemies do not receive slowness, but leave a trail on the approaching walls.
