Concept: Tabula Rasa Champion - Build-as-you-go

Hello GD,

As I lay here in bed, I had an interesting idea. What if there were a champion that started out as a basic blank slate. This champion is not designated AD/AP/tank/support/fighter but is instead built at the start of the game? Here is the concept and reasoning: Getting counter-picked can be quite annoying, especially if you are first pick. This champion happens to have 4 initial skillsets available to them. Upon entering whatever battle arena you may be playing, you are prompted to pick one of the four skillsets. This way, you can effectively counter-pick in game. Some options for archetypes may be an AP mage or bruiser, an ADC, an AP support, even jungle bruiser/assassin.

The core idea behind this would be that this champion would play, look, and feel COMPLETELY differently depending on which archetype you pick. I would suggest even further customization based on skill choices at various times, but I think it would be an absolute balance nightmare. This was always something I pictured Zac would have been perfect for as a proverbial shapeless Ditto that could change based on need.

With this much power granted as a counter-counter-pick tool, there would need to be tradeoffs - his passive would change based on which archetype you pick but may not be incredibly powerful. One key point I would like to make though - this champion would not be a 'jack-of-all-trades'. Once he/she chooses the archetype, they are locked in for the rest of the game. This means that they would need to be viable at each role that they can play. A competitive AD/AP/jungle/support as it were. And this passive that I am referring to would work towards providing additional strength for whatever role is chosen.

Just a thought. Please post any suggestions or comments below!

Thanks.

Trade off for a white socket 6 link chest piece is zero defensive stats.
