Is it strange that a silly skin like Birdio has me more stoked to purchase it than ultimate MF?

I see all of the effort that went into making Gun Goddess Miss Fortune and then I see Birdio. Birdio is a skin worthy of my 10-20 dollars, not something with a missing concept like Gun Goddess. Birdio is silly, playful, and exactly what League of Legends needs more of.

Riot, I don't pretend to be a concept designer but I know what kinds of skins I and by extension much of the community are interested in seeing in the future. Exciting, wacky, and just downright cool are what will likely garner much more hype in the future.

Good skins are either really unique/badass (project, SG, the previous ultimates) or so ridiculous that it's amazing (dog'maw, bee keeper).

GGMF doesnt really hit the ultimate quality mark for me. That's to say, 4 chromas whose only real thing is that I can change mid game doesn't seem to be worth 1k RP over what is otherwise an 1850 skin.

I love me some birdio though. Imagine getting stomped by fried chicken

Honestly Birdio is actually a pretty good skin for its price,as it is a 975 that comes with special sound effects and a new dance emote(or was it his joke,where he does the chicken dance?). Thats actually more than most other 975-skins do. Really the only disappointing part of that skin is the fact that his wings were just recolored,but thats not much of a problem since he is supposed to look like classic Galio in a chicken suit.

Meanwhile GGMF seems kinda lackluster compared to the last ultimate skin,even with the lower price.

Dude both Pizza Delivery Sivir and Birdio are actually worthy of how much you pay for them. GGMF just feels sorta like a rip off to me [sg-ahri-3]

Because Riot wants ultimate skins to be cool and edgy as opposed to lore-based. SG Udyr is him completing his training, PF Ezreal is if he discovers time travel (or a future Ezreal using time travel to explore like our Ezreal can't), DH Sona is her career peaking in modern times (kinda goes away from lore but good enough, I'd prefer a Sona skin where she literally speaks with music/magic), and Elementalist Lux is if she was able to use magic from every source of nature, aside from just light.

Not to mention the fact that people actually asked for Pizza Delivery Sivir, more begged for it really. The Galio skin is just bonus content tbh. No one asked for or wanted another ADC ultimate skin. They wanted a top laner to complete the set. The fact that it's MF, who just got a Star Guardian skin, isn't making it any better either. I admire the work that went into GGMF, but the ultimate really should've gone to a top laner or someone else all together.

To each their own. I'm not a fan of super silly skins, so GGMF appeals more to me (but I don't like the look of the exo/gun effects, so meh)

Please don't speak for me. While a few joke skins are fun to have, I much more prefer skins with a serious fantasy or scifi theme. I dread the day when Riot decides to massively increase the amount of non-serious skins they produce.

I’m buying the ultimate. The double voiceover is more than enough for me, and I don’t mind changing skins in game. Kinda prefer that to elementalist, that locks you in a form.

anyway - no it's not weird. it's based on your personality. most players who play league of legends as a recreational activity in their leisure time aren't looking for an insanely bad - A skin that cost's half of a weeks paycheck. they're looking for something to troll their opponents with or something that has functional appeal.

I know the answer to that at least it is my answer. Reason being is because you're exciting about the creativity behind these skins, these skins are creative but they don't have as much work put up on them as the MF ultimate skin but it's more creative/inspired. These skins are made for fun, even though the youtube channel says the best part is that they're 975 does that really matter when the skin is this attractive? it could have been 1350 i wouldn't have batted an eye and bought it at 0 complaints and still gave it praise. The april fool skins have been on point, did you see the pugmaw chromas? beauty! I hope more skins like these are made, i know people want their 1350 effect skins but i'd be very happy to see a few more of these were it's all about the model and even if it's just 1 animation change is a creative one that you can appreciate. Those chicken buckets tornados had me rolling. Let's not forget the awesome cowlistar skin that everyone has loved it has no animation changes only the bell taunt and it's been perfect!

No, no I'm in the same boat of wanting Birdio more than Gun Goddess. I'm down for fun, wacky, goofy skins. It helps break the monotone of more serious line up we constantly have.

As much as I love the Dark tones of Death Sworn, the menacing look of Marauder or even the badass look of the Dragon World series, it's always nice to see joke skins like Birdio or Meokai, just to have a bit of fun and laugh a bit.

Meanwhile, GG MF has animations more lack luster to a Legendary, costs more than a normal Ultimate if you want the complete bundle for everything, and honestly just feels like a let down for a "Ultimate" skin (really should of been Legendary, it would of been the best at that tier). I've already posted about this and I'm pretty sure everyone is seeing that Reddit post so I won't complain more about that here.

Not really. At the end of the day skins are aesthetic and character based. If you don't care about either being offered, then it doesn't really matter how much effort Riot puts into it. As is why Riot will try to cover a large swath of aesthetics, and seemingly only doles out ultimates to the most popular champions. They hedge their bets.
