Dear Skins Team: About Yorick...

I had a full letter expressing my disappointment over Blood Moon Zilean, SSW Talon and King of Clubs Morde along with my resentment towards certain Rioters posting that the skins team's release schedule was more important than making huge QOL improvements to skins currently on the PBE. However, it was too long and I've already made it known to people at Riot here and other forums.

The point of this post is to ask the skins team to delay any plans to make a Yorick skin until his rework is done. To give Yorick the "special snowflake" treatment currently reserved for Zac.

Yorick has not had a new skin since release (for various reasons including hate by some key Rioters over the past four years), and his rework is likely going to take until 2017 to get done. In the past, I have been begging for some skin love for Yorick, hoping that the team would do justice to the long wait as they say they want to do with Zac, whose wait has been merely half as long.

Recent events have put doubts in my mind that the skins team would be willing to put that extra work in, however. Not only about BM Zilean, SSW Talon and KoC Morde, but the fact that the skins team would rather stick to an aggressive release schedule than do real quality of life improvements to skins on the PBE.

That said, as one of the most vocal Yorick fans here, I would rather wait until the skins team is willing to put some real effort in making an epic skin for a newly reworked Yorick than to see the team just make a disappointing one "that will work with his outdated model" or whatever excuse was used to justify Safecracker Eve, Blood Moon Zilean and King of Clubs Mordekaiser.

I fully expect to be ignored by everyone at Riot. As a lore fan, I'm used to that treatment from Narrative.

I fully expect to be ridiculed for being passionate enough about Yorick to say "don't make anything until the rework is ready." It doesn't make sense, despite how I feel about it.

I fully expect to see some really goofy but completely unworthy "group" skin, like Shallow Grave/Mafia Yorick or WWE Undertaker/Wrestling Yorick.

Still, given that we're a month and a few weeks since the four year anniversary of Yorick's release (June 22, 2011), I would sincerely hope that the skins team would shelve any plans for a new Yorick skin until the rework was done, THEN make the new skin worth the wait.
