I met "that guy." <shudder>

Note: When I say "That guy who instalocks Azir... and ignores pick order," what I meant to say was:

"The team already has a top, mid and jungle, so they need a support and an marksman and, without thinking, instalocks Azir."

You know "that guy."

"That guy" who instalocks Azir, without talking to his team or following pick order, says "Guys, I got this," then gets upset that "no one is helping" him at (warding for him, ganking constantly, etc.), cries about how the team comp isn't helpful to him, tries to surrender at 19:59 despite the team being ahead, and finally whines that he's a "First time Azir" as he sits at the fountain because he was outvoted 4-1.

"That guy" who is more excited about how his ult interacts with a fully fed Cho'Gath near a wall (which he gave three stacks to, by the way) than how his teams lost that multiple games because he didn't know how his champion worked.

The guy who says that all his builds are OP, but is forced to admit that he's been stuck between Bronze 3 and Bronze 5 because of "other players and that 'Riot's new system is BS.'"

You know "that guy." In reality, he's more of a jerk in person than he is in game.

He was a nice guy when he approached the four of us at the bus stop while we were talking various aspects of League. However, it became clear that we were dealing with "that guy" by the way he kept talking about was his few awesome plays and how much of a bad ass he was in game.

Of course, when we asked him for his summoner name so we could look him up, he hesitated and became very defensive. Then, when we found out his actual rank, all the excuses started flying as we started laughing.

He even let a "1v1 me, bro" fly out of his mouth before our resident Diamond player started laughing even harder.

Yeah, "that guy" really exists, and he's really "that guy" in person.

i said 1 v 1 me to my friend who is in silver and makes fun of me for being in bronze I beat him and in the end he said he was just messing around even though whenever i killed him he would type in all chat, "WTF! how are you still alive?" so my conclusion people will always try to make a victory unenjoyable for a bronzie like me

That just made my day. :D My best friend is crazy good at fps games and won't play league bc he doesn't like the concept, but even he can agree that the 1v1 concept is even more stupid in league than it is in a fps. League is a game built on objectives and team work just as much as it is on mechanical skill. Unless you're at leas a full league higher than your lane opponent (like a diamond vs gold, or gold vs bronze(mmr not what you're listed)) you probably won't get fed enough in lane to really 1v5 if the team focuses you.

As someone who is pretty bad at the game (on a slide across seasons apparently, gold s3, silver s4, placed in bronze s5) I can honestly say that some of the easiest wins I've had have been games I got wrecked in lane. I don't mean games where my team did great and carried me, I mean ones where I got beat up in lane, my team did okay or bad in lane, and then a good initiation (I like champs that initiate or have utility, nunu jg, annie, etc) or a call for baron or inhib while an enemy was pushing outer tower top and not with their team suddenly turns the game around. People tilt bad when people they know they beat mechanically are making a come back.

Your friend was probably out played by you, and it was kinda a weak move of him to make excuses (I'm betting high school age, don't worry in a few years your friends will stop doing that sort of thing if you have good friends). However, the thing your friend should have mentioned is that instead of being proud you out played someone a division up from you, you should be wondering what he does in games that helps him get to a higher tier than you despite his mechanical failings?

High bronze/low silver and high silver/low gold not so much, in my personal experience (over LAS server) teammates ability to play as a team increases from bronze to gold.... and drops on plat idk why -.-

In my opinion it has to do with once a player gets to plat he THINKS knows everything, and if you don't buy into the meta then you don't know what you are doing and they immediately stop trying and blaming you instead.

I am in gold 2 and moving up and have noticed this more and more the higher i have gotten (I main master yi top so by no means do i follow the meta)

Yeah , thats exactly my toughts , its good(or sad idk) to have some kind of confirmation that it is not something exlusive from my server... One of the best times i had playing this game was ranking on gold on season 3, i really enjoyed it.

Whether he was going easy on you or not: Just because someone has experience climbing ranked, doesn't mean they are the best duelists.

My confidence in my ability isn't the best, and one of my friends always emphasized to me the difference between being a noob and a scrub. A noob is still learning and understanding new aspects of basic gameplay. A scrub is someone who needs to learn, but already thinks they're the best and thus will blame everyone else around them. A scrub needs to learn but will not allow themselves to.

... Is that so? From my time on the internet I've learned that *your *definition of "noob" is actually "newb" or "newbie". Someone that is new and thus still learning the basics. So their ignorance is only from lack of education. A noob on the other hand is ignorant by choice. They could be learning from their mistakes, but instead blame others for their mistakes. Newb: Just started the game. They think that buying armor is best on any champion because then they won't die 15 times per game.

Noob: Knows what items do but still has no idea how to play. These are the people who go top and go ham every time they see an enemy.

Sprout: Knows that they're bad so they politely warn people in chat, they play very cautiously. These are the people who you frustratingly tell to follow up on your initiates (good ones might I add) after they failed to do so.

Shrub: For the first time they buy wards (lol). Seriously though, these people know HOW to play the game, but they CAN'T YET play the game. They aren't toxic yet but don't really listen to instructive criticism.

Scrub: These people are what we all complain about. They still can't play the game, but they think that they can. This specimen insta-locks positions for reason of "x position or feed." They know HOW to play the game but they cannot yet; they make bad engages and yell at their team for not following up.

it's not 'instalocking' it's breaking the pick order. instalocking don't even exist outside of blind pick and when in draft you pick by two i.e. when you and another person choose at once, one can instalock; and then there is not literally anything wrong with it because it's basically the correct way of calling. it's callers i.e. people who think that they are magically get the right to some role if they type it as soon as possible are mad at 'instalockers'. a typical situation looks like this - 2-5 persons who have the same right to pick, one types 'mid' in chat, another locks a mid champion... i'm sorry but locking your champion seems as a more proper way to ensure where you go than typing in the chat, chat isn't for calling, but to show your preferences. for me 'those guys' it's those who call, especially when they feel entitled to pick a second mid champion because they typed the magical three letters. btw there is a lot of those who think that even saying their preferences means that those should be 100% respected, it's yet another bunch of 'those guys'...

Instalocking I believe is short for instantly locking. So if two people are up to pick and one instant locks in a champion disregarding pick order... this isn't instalocking?

in draft when, say 2nd and 3rd or 1st and 2nd pick at the same time they have the same pick order, pick order it's when the system lets you pick, it's not your number in the team, simple as that

i dunno why i should explain people the elementary things... well, it's not that bad nowadays, i'm glad that we eventually made riot to express their support of the pick order, it was so terrible before that when people didn't respect it completely and wrote scripts to call as soon as they joined...

I don't know if you're trolling or being serious, but take a hint if you're dead serious. It's okay to be wrong, denial will only hurt you. The only way you can be right is to admit you're wrong again and again, yet learning from it. Otherwise you're just pretentious. If everyone had to pick one at a time, picking champions would take 67% longer. Yea, no thanks. It still allows users to pick against one another though. You are 'that guy,' btw. Stop being 'that guy.' Nobody likes 'that guy.'

you seriously think i care of the karma of my post? i know pretty well what kind of people (i mean their personalities) frequents these forums and i don't give a shit of their opinion about my posts. yes, i'm serious, calling is bad, it hurt this game for a while till riot eventually made some moves to support the pick order, instalocking isn't bad, neither me nor you nor anybody has any obligation to even type something in the chat, if you pick ahri it's pretty clear that you go mid and you have no reason to type it, if somebody typed mid before, it's his problem, now if he doesn't pick a champion for another role, it's him/her who don't communicate, not you, locking is a way of communication too, if your pick is ambiguous (nidalee - mid or top? or jungle but didn't pick smite yet? morgana - mid or support?) it's better to clarify but anybody who didn't lock should better ask you too where you are going. those who in the draft pick at the same time have the equal rights to pick w/e they want, sorry but the only right it's that enforced by the system or the rules, yours idea that 2nd pick has more rights than 3rd when they pick at the same time isn't clarified enough to care about it, the only things which is clear it's that who can pick earlier has the preference, it's all
