(Champion Concept) Mutare Servus, Cunning Shapeshifter
LORE When Regium Dux, the King Of Dragons reappeared into the world after escaping the grasps of Mordekaiser by transporting his inner circle of dragons to a dimension between time and space itself, he was accompanied by Mutare Servus, one of his most trusted servants and friends. https://media.wizards.com/2018/images/daily/c4rd4r7_BEwwayTuZd.jpg Art by Chase Stone When the armies of Demacia first appeared before them, it was Mutare Servus that first declared them untrustworthy humans that deserved to be wiped from the land. This hatred of humanity was mainly due to Mordekaiser slaughtering Mutare Servus' family and friends when he first invaded into the west, the region now known as Demacia but was once ruled by Regium Dux and his fellow dragons. Regium Dux trusted his friend's word and quickly dispatched of the small army before retreating to rebuild his long destroyed castle in the hills surrounding Demacia. In this castle, Regium hid away to learn of all that had transpired while his kind was away. He instructed Mutare and his other trusted servant, Sciens Omnis, to explore the world and bring him documentations of history as well as to report the status of the world as a whole. Sciens Omnis traveled to the north, and Mutare Servus traveled to the south. He quickly found himself within the desert known as Shurima and came upon the desert's now arisen capital. An entire civilization had emerged surrounding the capital, clearly having only arrived to begin to build up a great city recently. Mutare Servus was a master of shapeshifting, and transformed into a human which he had found wandering the desert and dispatched of. Entering the Shuriman city, Mutare Servus began to study the society and document what he found most interesting. Most seemed boring to him until he came across the most powerful being he had seen since he had returned to Runeterra: Azir. The newly reborn emperor of Shurima was something Mutare Servus was immediately transfixed by once he saw the being. One day, Azir walked through the streets, causing the people who saw him to cheer with happiness. Mutare Servus studied the emperor for a long time until something caught his eye. On a rather dimly lit evening, Mutare Servus was roaming the streets when suddenly he noticed that Azir was standing out at the front of what seemed to be his palace. The odd thing, however, was, from Mutare Servus' observations, the emperor was staring directly at him. His suspicions were confirmed when the emperor, in what seemed the blink of an eye, dashed what must have been hundred of feet to stand beside Mutare. Azir immediately questioned who Mutare was and why a rot seemed to exude from him. Just as quickly as Azir had dashed beside Mutare, the dragon quickly revealed his true form and flew into the sky. On a pillar of sand, Azir rose with him and continued to bombard him with questions as if the speed at which he was ascending into the sky was nothing. Where was Mutare from? Why was he here? Why was he hiding? Mutare ignored these questions as he continued to rise into the sky to try and outpace the emperor. Mutare quickly flew away from the city, looking back at the emperor who was glaring at him from atop a gigantic pillar of sand. Mutare had learned enough of the wretched place. It could not be trusted. Mutare traveled to Noxus next, infiltrating the Immortal Bastion. When Mutare first arrived, he could feel his presence. Mordekaiser. The entire place stunk of the barbarian. He would soon learn that Mordekaiser had been overthrown long ago, and a new nation of those who believed the strong should rise and the weak should fall arose in his place. As Mutare explored the bastion, he found some of his findings quite peculiar. Being a master shapeshifter himself, he knew the magical "bread crumbs" one left when shapeshifting. He found these bread crumbs all around the city, as if an entire society of shapeshifters lived within the bastion. As his investigation lead him further and further into the heart of Noxus, he grew quite curious of how humans had found a way to change their form. He found his answer when he unexpectedly met with one of the three leaders of Noxus deep beneath Noxus. The woman, or at least what seemed to be a woman, questioned who Mutare was and where he had learned to shapeshift. He asked her the same, causing her to let loose a laugh that angered him deeply. A clone of the woman appeared behind Mutare and caressed his neck before whispering her name into his ear. Mutare flicked the clone away with a great force that revealed his true strength to the lady. She offered him a position of power, seeing his power and prowess with his art, but Mutare declined. He already served another. The lady disappeared, leaving Mutare seemingly alone. After staying within Noxus for a few more days, Mutare left. He had seen enough and couldn't stand Mordekaiser's stench any longer. He transformed into his true form once again and began his flight back to Regium to report what he had found so far: humans could not be trusted still. They were a blight upon the world and they had only grown in strength since Regium had left. They needed to be exterminated as soon as possible.

GAMEPLAY PHILOSOPHY Mutare Servus is a slippery enemy who will try and trick the enemy team whenever he can to allow precious moments of re-positioning in order to escape or get close enough to an enemy champion to quickly eviscerate them. His key ability, Shapeshift, can allow for some rather tricky mind games with the opponent if he can cast and execute the ability without the enemy team noticing. If he can trick the enemy effectively, he can pretty easily sneak behind them and deal a large burst of damage to his target. In the early game, Mutare can honestly go wherever he pleases except for perhaps the Jungle. While he seems like a strong ganking champion, his clear time is less than optimal. While in lane, Mutare should try and set up tricky plays whenever he can by disguising himself as a minion in order to trick his enemies into a sense of safety before unveiling his scheme and assassinating them. He can poke the enemy down through either Draconic Trickery, Die Dreaming, or even one of their own ranged abilities if Mutare copies the enemy champion in order to use their own skills against them. In the mid and late game, Mutare can extremely disrupt a team fight by causing enemies to be unable to see their allies and protect them by using his ultimate Grand Deception. Along with Draconic Trickery, this can allow Mutare to be quite the headache for any team that is relying on their allies for safety. Mutare can also use Shapeshift, targeting an allied champion, in order to copy their abilities, albeit at reduced effectiveness.
