Librea, The Spirits Conduit (Rework)

Candurill·7/4/2016, 12:33:54 PM·3 votes·742 views

Here I am again :D I've been looking at some of my old concepts with the know-how and insights i have obtained through the time I've spent creating and posting concepts on these forums. I want to thank you all for all the amazing feedback!!! I changed a few things about her, like her ultimate "Sacrifice", her ability "Spirits Power" and her Passive "Balanced Spirits". Tell me if you like it :D I'm most likely going to enter her into the CCOS of this month...if it ever starts that is.....

I will still rework her lore a bit and add some quotes, so be patient :)

Name: Librea **Gender: **Female **Race: **Human **Birthplace: **Ionia

https://s32.postimg.org/5x6g42po1/Librea.jpg[/img]

Appearance: YES, yes, yes, the picture is from MTG and I take no credit for it ofcourse. Besides its just a general idea which fitted with what I had in mind. I do think that her choice of spirit should reflect her appearance, making her more dark or red with destruction and more white and gold with creation. Her voice would start out normal and change to either demonic (Syndra-ish) to angelic (Sona-ish) depending on her choice of spirit.

Kit:

Health: 512 – 1804 Attack Damage: 50 – 95 Health regen.: 5.4 – 14.8 Attack Speed: 0.579 (+0% – 23.1%) Mana: 334 – 1184 Mana Regen.: 6.0 – 19.6 Armor: 19.2 – 87.2 Magic res.: 30.0 Range: 600 Mov. Speed: 335

Passive: Balanced spirits. Using her powers for either creation or destruction will tip Librea’s spiritual scale towards either side to a maximum of 5 stacks in each direction. Each stack in one direction will grant Librea different buffs and strengthens certain aspects of her abilities. Once she levels Equilibrium for the third time, the spirits will claim her for the side the scale is leaning towards at that time, granting her Sacrifice as an ultimate ability.

The scale goes from 5 points in Creation on one side to 5 points in Destruction on the other side. In the middle is 0, meaning neutral.

Creation:

  • 1 point: Percentage of the Shield of Life energies healed after 5 seconds increases with 5%. Spirits Grace creature has 5% AP as bonus magic damage and 200 bonus health. Librea gains 5% bonus movement speed and 2.5% bonus AP.
  • 2 points: Percentage of the Shield of Life energies healed after 5 seconds increases with 10%. Spirits Grace creature has 10% AP as bonus magic damage and 300 bonus health. Librea gains 10% bonus movement speed and 5% bonus AP.
  • 3 points: Percentage of the Shield of Life energies healed after 5 seconds increases with 15%. Spirits Grace creature has 15% AP as bonus magic damage and 400 bonus health. Librea gains 15% bonus movement speed and 7.5% bonus AP.
  • 4 points: Percentage of the Shield of Life energies healed after 5 seconds increases with 20%. Spirits Grace creature has 20% AP as bonus magic damage and 500 bonus health. Librea gains 20% bonus movement speed and 10% bonus AP.
  • 5 points: Percentage of the Shield of Life energies healed after 5 seconds increases with 25%. Spirits Grace creature has 25% AP as bonus magic damage and 600 bonus health. Librea gains 25% bonus movement speed and 12.5% bonus AP.
  • 6 points (only when claimed for Creation): Percentage of the Shield of Life energies healed after 5 seconds increases with 30%. Spirits Grace creature has 30% AP as bonus magic damage and 700 bonus health. Librea gains 30% bonus movement speed and 15% bonus AP.

Destruction:

  • 1 point: Shield gained by draining enemies with Life Energies increases in power by 5% Spirits Power blast radius is increased with 25 units and deals an additional 5% AP magic damage. Librea gains 2.5% Cooldown Reduction and 5% bonus AP.
  • 2 points: Shield gained by draining enemies with Life Energies increases in power by 10% Spirits Power blast radius is increased with 50 units and deals an additional 10% AP magic damage. Librea regains 5% of any dealt damage as mana and gains an additional 10% bonus AP.
  • 3 points: Shield gained by draining enemies with Life Energies increases in power by 15% Spirits Power blast radius is increased with 75 units and deals an additional 15% AP magic damage. Librea regains 7.5% of any dealt damage as mana and gains an additional 15% bonus AP.
  • 4 points: Shield gained by draining enemies with Life Energies increases in power by 20% Spirits Power blast radius is increased with 100 units and deals an additional 20% AP magic damage. Librea regains 10% of any dealt damage as mana and gains an additional 20% bonus AP.
  • 5 points: Shield gained by draining enemies with Life Energies increases in power by 25% Spirits Power blast radius is increased with 125 units and deals an additional 25% AP magic damage. Librea regains 12.5% of any dealt damage as mana and gains an additional 25% bonus AP.
  • 6 points (only when claimed for Destruction): Shield gained by draining enemies with Life Energies increases in power by 30% Spirits Power blast radius is increased with 150 units and deals an additional 30% AP magic damage. Librea regains 15% of any dealt damage as mana and gains an additional 30% bonus AP.

Once the spirits of Creation claim Librea, she can no longer use the active effect of her W but gains the Passive effect. Being claimed by the spirits of Destruction will disable the active of her E but activate the passive effect of that ability.

Q, Life Energies: This ability can either be cast on an ally or on an enemy. When cast on an ally: Librea sacrifices 10% of her maximum health to grant it to an ally in the form of a shield. If the shield is completely consumed by damage within 5 seconds, 25% of the shielded health is healed to the target. If the shield is not consumed in 5 seconds, it simply disappears. Casting Life Energies on an ally counts towards Creation, unless she has already been claimed. When cast on an enemy: Librea siphons 65 / 95 / 125 / 155 / 185 (+25% AP) health from an enemy unit granting it to herself in the form of a shield. If the shield is completely consumed by damage within 5 seconds, half of the shielded health is healed to her. If the shield is not consumed in 5 seconds, it simply disappears. Casting Life Energies on an enemy counts towards Destruction, unless she has already been claimed. The percentage of the shield healed is increased by 5% for every stack in creation. The power of the shield grows with 5% for every stack in Destruction.

W, Spirits Power: If the spirits claim Librea for Creation, she can no longer activate this ability. The passive will go into effect in stead. Active: Librea channels the power of a destructive spirit into the physical world, unleashing its power in a concentrated orb of energy that travels in a target direction. This orb will travel through enemies without harming them until it either reaches its maximum range (700 units) or when the ability is recast, blasting a 200 unit radius around the orb with destructive energy and dealing 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+ 50% AP) magic damage to all enemy units in the area. Casting Spirits Power counts towards Destruction. The radius of damage and damage total is increased with every stack in Destruction. Passive: Only active when Librea is claimed for Creation. Librea passively gathers spirit energies from living things around her. When she has gathered enough energy (every 15 seconds, reduced by 1 additional second every tick for every allied champion in her field of vision), her next auto attack will deal 85 (+10% AP) bonus magic damage and roots an enemy for 2 seconds.

E, Spirits Grace: If the spirits claim Librea for Destruction, she can no longer activate this ability. The passive will go into effect in stead. Active: Librea creates a physical body out of clay and roots for a spirit of Creation to inhabit. This spirit will have 1000 / 1200 / 1600 / 1800 / 2000 health and can be controlled by holding down the E button while clicking. The spirit will focus on Librea’s target if not commanded otherwise and always try to stay between Librea and the nearest enemy champion. Each attack deals 5% / 7.5% / 10% / 12.5% / 15% of Librea’s AP in magic damage and slows the target by 10% for 2 seconds, renewing with every attack, up to a max of 4 seconds. Upon command, the creature will follow an allied target instead of Librea attacking whomever that ally is attacking and staying between them and the nearest enemy champion. The creature will disappear when its health reaches 0. Casting Spirits Grace counts towards Creation. Every stack in Creation will increase the percentage of AP that gives the creature bonus health and damage by 5%. Passive: Only active when Librea is claimed for Destruction. Librea harnesses the power of natural Decay by absorbing the energy that lingers in fallen creatures and champions. For every death that occurs in her vicinity (within her field of vision) she will gain 1 Stack of Entropy, up to a maximum of 10. When she has at least 1 Stack, her next basic attack against an enemy champion will deal 1,5% (+0,5% / Entropy Stacks) of their missing health as bonus magic damage over a period of 3 seconds, slowing them for 20% for the full duration.

R, Equilibrium/Sacrifice: For the first 2 levels of this ability it is called Equilibrium. After the third level, Librea is claimed for either Creation or Destruction, changing this ability into Sacrifice with a new effect on either side. Unlike a Soraka heal, the Sacrifice ability can kill Librea if she does not have enough health. If this happens she will go through the channel and release of the spell, but will die afterwards if she does not meet specific requirements.

Equilibrium: Librea summons the spirits of Destruction and Creation into the physical world. Their influence cancels each other out, creating an area of peace (700 unit radius) where all champions (allies or enemies) are both silenced and blinded, for 5 seconds. Sacrifice for Creation: Librea has been claimed for Creation and has banished all traces of Destruction from her body. She channels for 1 second, during which she drains 25% of her maximum health. After the channel she ascends into a divine state in which she is invulnerable but cannot attack for 5 seconds. She will radiate an energising light in a 700 unit radius around her, that will heal any ally for 150 + 50% AP every second, as long as they stay within the light. If Librea has less then 25% of her max health when activating Sacrifice, she will go through the channel and full duration of the ability, the latter, lasting an additional 2 seconds. If no allied champion dies while in the effect radius of Sacrifice, she will be granted a second chance and will recover 25% of her max health upon the end of the ability. Sacrifice for Destruction: Librea has been claimed for Destruction and has banished all traces of creation from her body. She channels for 1 second, during which she drains 25% of her maximum health. After the channel she ascends into a divine state in which she is invulnerable but cannot attack for 5 seconds. She will radiate a blistering light in a 700 unit radius which will deal 125 + 50% AP magic damage every second to any enemy unit within the light and slow their movement speed by 20% for the full duration. If Librea has less then 25% of her max health when activating Sacrifice, she will go through the channel and full duration of the ability, the latter, lasting an additional 2 seconds. If at least one enemy champion dies while in the effect radius of Sacrifice, she will be granted a second chance and will recover 25% of her max health upon the end of the ability.

Lore: Will be expanded :D Born on a day the sun and the moon where both at their peeks, while rain doused the ground with water and the wind seemed to come from all places at once, it was obvious that Librea was going to be a very special child. She did not cry after being born. She just looked around, staring at invisible things. It was apparent at an early time that spirits spoke to Librea. She was taken in by monks of a wuju temple that would guide her on a path of balance, making sure she wouldn’t harm herself or anyone else. As she grew older, she learned to control the spirits of creation to help others. With her powers she healed the sick and created vessels for spirits to do heavy lifting and help protect the temple. This however, seemed not enough. As the Noxian army invaded Ionia, they came closer and closer to the temple that Librea called home. When the day came that they finally attacked, Librea was there on the battlefield, using her gift to assist the Wuju monks in the protection of the temple and the village close to it. It wasn’t meant to be however. As one monk after the other was cut down, Librea started to lose hope. At last she found herself the only Ionian left in the temple. As her heart sank, a voice whispered in her ear, calling her to let them in, to lose control and show the Noxians the power of Ionia. Devoid of hope and desperate for revenge she listened, and let it in. Powerful magic started to flow through her as she opened herself for the spirits of destruction to spill chaos into the world. With their power, she drove away the Noxian forces and liberated the region. It took her some days and a lot of willpower to close herself off again from the spirits of destruction. She did not think that she would be able to reach the same level of control she had had before the attack. Thus, she traveled to Runeterra and to the summoners of the league of legends. There they offered her a way to keep her balance and use her powers for peace.

1 thing I learned while making Skyla - form changer champions are very very complex and very wordy. I would first recommend separating out the passive bonuses as the italics and such close clustering make it very unpleasant to read.

Echoing Vorazun's opinion re: wordy passive. Don't make a separate entry for each stack when the stack effects follow a linear progression anyways.

Also, stand back! I'm a certified hater!

I wonder why it's always light and dark when it comes to form-changers. Why not swords VS guns? Life VS Death? Earth VS Space?

The passive self-destructs on itself since holding back your kit to stack a certain way means you're outputting less stuff than a champion should. Either you take the time to stack up to a certain point and lose out on your overall threat, or you go buck-wild and get left with crummy bonuses.

Ally Q is literally a worse Soraka W. Shields as a whole are weaker than heals, so a shield that rips out 10% of your max health is not exactly the epitome of helpful. Enemy Q is more promising and fun - reminiscent of Viktor Q, but with different scaling.

W active is pretty much Anivia Q, which is not promising. The expanding area based on destruction stacks is neat, at least. W passive is way too much power in a ranged autoattack - recall that Nautilus's passive roots for 0.75 seconds. A 2 second root for free is way too good.

E active...I've got a little experience with Java, so I can parse programming and related programming stuff. A code that has the pet prioritize meatshielding over attacking means it's never going to attack due to how people keep moving around. It's also not going to be particularly useful in doing more than block skillshots, and without any base damage, does zero damage throughout the majority of the game. In short, it's honestly pretty trashy and not super useful. The passive would be immensely powerful, but it comes in too late at the game for it to matter at all - by level 16, you're well past the laning phase where this would be cool to have.

Equilibrium is literally the most destructive ult to your team. All it takes is one bad cast and you've screwed your team. Kindred and Bard are at least kind enough to extend a POSITIVE effect to both sides, and J4 can cancel his ult. Librea, meanwhile, just made anyone who happened to be in range with her totally useless. Assuming you don't hit any allies, it requires Librea to be in the middle of the enemy team - a dangerous prospect for someone with no gap-closer. In a best case scenario...you have literally invalidated whoever you hit for 5 seconds. In a pitched fight, you automatically win. It's incredibly overpowered in that best case scenario.

Sacrifice, meanwhile, is similarly an "I win the team fight because screw you" button, regardless of form. The ally heal is immense, the enemy damage is immense, and they can't kill you to stop it, meaning there's no real counterplay other than to try and escape the huge-ass 700 radius you've created while your team goes berserk.

On the whole, you lose an entire ability on your kit if you pick a form in exchange for an autoattack booster. The light W passive is alright, but losing the nuke sucks. By contrast, the dark E passive is bluh, but losing a crummy pet isn't even remotely a big deal. You lose no matter what you do.

Exempting the ult, if you go light-form, you're not much better than a shield bot with a stupid root on the autoattack. If you go dark-form, you're much more well-rounded with a useful nuke while still maintaining the shield.

Or you can just exit battle at 16, carefully reset your stacks, and level your ult when you're at 0 stacks, thus maintaining the proud Shin Megami Tensei tradition of Omnicidal Neutrality and killing everyone, friend and foe, with a poorly-timed ult.

Suggestions:

Condense passive in writing. Also, it doesn't need to be giving all those effects, ESPECIALLY bonus AP. Either shift those effects to the abilities themselves or trim all the extra stuff and pick one thing to boost. Do not boost total AP, ever.

Ally Q should not be draining your health for so little gain. Thematically appropriate or not, Soraka does it much better and doesn't have to use the same skill to heal back that health. If you HAVE to keep the health drain, at least give it a base shield amount - you'd end up shields at low levels that are so weak, it's easy to blow them up.

E active is completely horrible. Anything would be better. Personal suggestion: a wall that intercepts all non-tower enemy attacks going through it. Maintains creation theme, but since it doesn't move, does the job of a meatshield so much better.

The ult is totally broken in every regard. I can't help you with a replacement since it's so core to your kit, but in general, you need more counterplay other than "don't be within the giant area I just made", and you should NEVER inflict a negative effect on an ally. It's one thing if a positive effect leads to a negative result (Kindred ult blocks Zilean ult, Bard ult leaves you trapped), but another thing to have a purely negative effect affect allies.

Alternatively, completely scrap the form-changer mechanic. It's a bear to balance, and in its current incarnation, you give up an ability and radically change your ult, neither of which are incredibly desirable, especially given the huge situational power of Equilibrium.

That wraps up my pre-emptive good neighbor review. It's better iterated than other form changers that just end up super overloaded, but you're swinging wildly beyond mostly ineffectual and completely broken, with no in-betweens, and your passive stacks are all over the place due to how you have to keep using a certain set of abilities and refraining from ever touching the other ones.

I seem to recall this concept from some where.....Oh yeah if I remember correctly this was a concept that appeared on the podcast that I used to do. Thought it looked familiar. I remember it being a really good one, but then again I would have to go back and see what I literally said. So what made you decide to do a rework Candurill?

Arakadia7/5/2016, 6:00:14 PM1 votes

Awsome idea, a few problems. The ult has zero counterplay really. Her Q is way too weak. And losing a whole ability because you leveled up isnt that interesting. I suggest the ability is replaced instead of just a nifty passive.
