Lila, the Joy of Runeterra

Lila is a presence and pretty girl, raised by the wild, but by the magical trees hidden away deep within Demacia. This location is hidden away, especially from the knowledge of Demacians, to keep it safe and pure from the evils of the outside world and prevent its magical properties from being destroyed by Demacia's hatred of its use. The girl was brought up and raised prim and proper, not some wild child, like a princess of the forest.

Lila grew a desire to expand her world and explore Runeterra when she got much older, yet still young. The trees knew this day would probably have eventually come so they prepared a magical bow formed of their finest branches for the girl and trained her to defend herself and forever to be kind and joyful. The trees were also sneaky, using the bow as a way to keep watch of their daughter through a magical link, and even to communicate with her and help her out in dire need.

The final parting gift was a stuffed doggy that they handcrafted, called in the sheep to use their wool as fluff, blew the wind to bring the cotton for the stuffing, and used the shiniest pearls from the clams of the lake for its eyes. Once complete, they blessed it with the magic of life, granting Lila a loyal companion to always be by her that is joined with her own life force, so if she dies then the stuffed doggy will die with her.

Lila is well fitted for her journey now, being ready for the worst, but still her purpose is to spread joy and kindness to everyone. A kind, pure, and gentle heart can do a lot to change the life of anyone for the better.

Lila is a kind-hearted marksman, one that is about helping her team and being rewarded for doing so rather than helping herself.

Restoration Arrow (Passive):

Static Cooldown: 10 seconds; Range: 1000 units

Lila fires a piercing arrow at the attack target, flying straight and dealing (+120%AD) physical damage, dealing 40% reduced damage for every enemy struck, down to 20% damage. Every enemy struck restores 10 mana, 25 mana for epic monsters and enemy champions.

Need to ask a couple clarity questions here.

  • Doge doesn't actually harm people on its own, just marks them, right? You gave no attack value.
  • prioritizes nearby units, and champions. Champions in what range of its owner?
  • Can it be cc'd or interacted with in any way? (Can Syndra pick this up with her W like any other pet, and throw it at its owner for damage?

Obviously, the ult is the biggest thing I'm worried about. If that thing is immortal, and can also passively dumpster the enemy team, it'd be really, REALLY op. And being immortal, it takes out a lot of elements of counterplay to it, especially when it moves so fast. I also don't get why it's healing everyone, but whatever. :P

Hum hum! It’s certainly nice to see more lighthearted champs (especially considering the flavor most of my own tend to take), and Lila sounds like a proper sweetypie. Seems to function as a marksman/support, in the same vein as Ashe (or I suppose to a lesser extent Miss Fortune once upon a time), and it’s always nice to see more of those too.

While I was at first a little unsure about her passive’s mana return, a look at her costs seems to suggest it’s warranted, so it’s all good there. Passively firing piercers at psuedorandom (considering crit chance between 0 and 100%) is certainly an interesting mechanic, although I do wonder at the particulars of play/counterplay around it. Warrants tests anyway, I feel 10 mama per minion might be a little generous, especially once she starts being able to fire them more frequently. Just gotta be careful with scalings, considering the kinds of items the League has.

Heal Arrow is rather nicely put down methinks, considering the mana cost it seems balanced well enough against her other things. Indeed it looks like she could make multiple different builds work, and it’s no small feat to manage making a champ that can do that, not bad at all. Letting Stuffed Doggy’s attacks also reduce its cooldown might be a tad much, but considering the Mana cost, maybe not. Unless she can self-target, that would be a little too much. Doesn’t seem like she can, though.

Gentle Touch could use some clarification. Does it extend all the cc on a target? How does it extend decaying Slows? Giving Stuffed Doggy movespeed seems strange, if it has a set tether and can pace targets anyway, does it really need that? The ability seems fine otherwise except for the mana/energy return. There was a reason they took that off of Soraka, after all. It costs a lot, sure, but Lila can regenerate mana easily enough and so it would be a little too much. Mana resources are meant to run out eventually to give some breathing room to the opponent and make you really think about how you use your mana, never running out ever is one thing, plenty of champs eventually manage it, but making it so a friend of your choice also never runs out regardless of their build is just too oppressive. Refunding energy is not really a good idea either, since energy champions are balanced around the way energy regens and has a static cap, disrupting that might inadvertently catapult some of them into Unfightable GG territory.

The ult is where things get real sketchy. Most of it might just chalk up to my not quite understanding it, though. Stuffed Doggy dies when Lila does and never before, so does this mean it has a hit box at all? Apparently, since Lila can target it but I guess then it doesn’t have a health bar? Can it still intercept skill shots and be affected by cc? It also apparently works on auto-pilot, which hurts the efficacy of the active since it’s kind of out of control, but I suppose it’s not that big an issue. Stuffed Doggy getting pacing attacks in on top of Lila’s though might be a bit much since he’s also applying a proc debuff. Maybe if the debuff couldn’t affect the same target more than every so often? Or I suppose you could let the debuff reoccur and just make it so Stuffed Doggy’s attacks only apply debuff and don’t actually do damage. Lastly, for the sake of communicability, does Stuffed Doggy have a visible tether to his Lila (to differentiate when there are multiple Lilas)? Does having vision of Stuffed Doggy reveal Lila in any way?

It is certainly a neat concept and a cute one. Always nice to see mixed healers. And by nice I mean “Soraka why do you do this to me.” All joking aside, I think the kit is very sensitive to items and as such might never have the “right” numbers, even if these ones are operable. There is also danger of running into Ashe as far as visual profiles go. Maybe make it a shortbow? I don’t think we have one of those yet, and it would help set her apart at a glance from, say, Woad Ashe or something.

Stuffed Doggy has some really exploitable potential though, so some details on just how he interacts with the rest of the League would be nice.

Well, that’s my opinion, sorry if it grates in some fashion. Ta ta~

Hm, it looks like a pretty nice design of a champion, but I am a little bit concerned about her stats and passive.

Stats They seem to be not very balanced. Lila has very long range for autoattacks, compatible with Ashe's, which gives her pretty long range for her stun on her W ability. Even if her attack speed is not very high you didnt count that fact that she will build full crit items for adc and all Zeal items have attacks speed bonus, and more over she will build IE which gives her true damage.

Passive It is a legit Twitch ult. But with no crits. And 0 cooldown after buying items for 100% crit and terrifying attack speed is a problem. Yes, enemy can dodge this skillshot, but not when its fired like a wall of bullets is flying towards you.

Q Its seems pretty fine, all buffs and passives are pretty balanced.

W It seems ok, but not in combo with passive and problems described earlier. She stuns 1 person and shoo-shoo-shoo, that person is a cactus. I dont mind it to be stun it is ok, i dont even mind that it can be prolonged, but i care that this ability and 600 range will give her wonderful spot of never dying.

E Seems ok, but not the part of mana/energy restoration. Imagine having Soraka as support - you will heal her, you will give mana to her, she will heal you, wow-wow, how to kill this two.

R Can't say much about it. Bonus damage is needed since she cant do crit damage (can she proc stormrazor?), and she is still support like champion and as she has no dashes out a strong heal ult can be needed, so i dont have any complaints about this part.

Overall, the design is quite nice, but she needs to be balanced. Her problem is that even if she supposed to be a support adc that works with allies she is self-sustained, looks like she doesnt care either she has allies or not. She can be a perfect midlaner with this kit, which will set ganks for her jungler, stuns opponent, heal jungler and she even gets attack speed for that and i dont think that this is what you wanted to see.
