[Champion Concept] Gowan, The Shade of Twilight
Hello! This is the next in a series of champion concepts I came up between 2012 and 2016, and submitted to Riot as part of an ill-fated game design application back in April 2016. Some of the lore concepts or references to in-game mechanics may be out of date now, but I'd still welcome any feedback (also about the post itself, somewhat of a forum noob). My notes are in brackets, question marks denote sections I thought would need balancing.
Abilities: **Narcissism (Passive) **- Gowan’s abilities are amplified when self-cast. Bittersweet Agony - Gowan makes a target aware of how unattainable she is, dealing [+AP] magic damage every second for [6?] seconds. If self-cast, Gowan heals for [+AP] every second for [6?] seconds. [10?s CD] **Moonlight Shield **- Gowan catches the moonlight and creates a shimmering shield on a friendly champion, reducing all magic damage taken by 50% for [3?] seconds. If self-cast, also reduces physical damage by 50%. [14/13/12/11/10?s CD] Defend My Honor - Gowan imbues a friendly target with fervor for [6/7/8/9/10?s], increasing their attack speed and movement speed [5/10/15/20/25?% for both]. If self-cast, Gowan’s basic attacks while under the effect of Defend My Honor refresh the duration of Bittersweet Agony on the target. Defend My Honor also passively increases the movement speed of friendly champions moving towards Gowan. [20?s CD] Concentrated Desire - Gowan concentrates her magic, dealing [+AP] magic damage to all nearby enemies and causing enemy champions hit to be charmed, forcing them to walk towards her while slowed 50%. [2?min CD]
**Lore: ** On the far edges of the Kumungu Jungle there lies a village where few dare to go, and none return. Even animals avoid the place. A cursory conversation with any villager would indicate a blissful and quiet life, however, the truth is far more sinister. In the largest house within the village lives a beautiful witch, who has enthralled and subjugated all who enter the village. Forever destined to bow to her wishes, she has removed their free will with her magical allure. Now she seeks to expand her power by adding the most powerful warriors in the world to her army of slaves.
[Notes: Gowan’s range on her abilities is relatively small (Roughly the same as Annie). Defend My Honor’s passive bonus is not lost while the ability is on cooldown, and has roughly the same range and strength of Vayne’s Night Hunter passive. Concentrated Desire has a radius similar to Maokai’s Vengeful Maelstrom]
