Xale, the Elemental Blade

Xale is a male human that possess magical powers and wields an element blade where he is from Shurima.

Full transparency, I just wanted to make and fail multiple times at a rune blade concept. Overall goal is something that is cool and fun to play as, while still be simple for the end user to understand, and making sure his abilities have some kind of skill expression to them as well (which offers player choice and not simply one-dimensional abilities, does not mean they necessarily require a bunch of skill to use).


Xale is a magical warrior where he may not have a resource, but he can only use abilities when his blade is a certain element. So his damage might be from his basic attacks, but you must control basic attack usage to use the ability that you want to use at that moment!

Also because of magic reasons, he can attack at range! (This one is for gameplay purposes, might as well treat him like a marksman if he plays like one, more freedom to make an interesting kit with ranged attacks over melee.)

Runic Blade (Passive):

Xale's blade is an elemental blade, where whenever he attacks it will change its element, between Fire, Water, Wind, and Dark. The element will enhance Xale's next attack and allows usage to one of his abilities based on what element is currently ready.

Fire burns your target for 2%(+1% per 100AP) of the target's max health as true damage over 1.5 seconds. Water restores your own health equal to 4%(+2.5% per 100AP) of the target's max health, max 100 against minions/monsters. Wind destroys enemy projectiles as it travels. Dark reduces the target's vision radius by 25%(+10% per 100AP) for 2 seconds. Deals 30 - 120 (+50%AP) bonus true damage against epic monsters and enemy structures.

Scorch (Q):

Cooldown: 5/4.5/4/3.5/3 seconds; Range: 625 units / 60 degrees

Xale slashes flames in a cone in the target direction, dealing 40/50/60/70/80(+100%AD)(+70%AP) magic damage. Runic Blade cannot change from Fire for the next 2/2.25/2.5/2.75/3 seconds.

Bubble (W):

Cooldown: 20/16.5/13/9.5/6 seconds; Range: 900 units; Radius: 300 units

Xale does an upward swing to form and launch a large bubble through the air and land at the target location for 2 seconds, massively slowing down enemy projectiles that go through it by 50%(+5% per 100AP). Runic Blade cannot change from Water for the next 3.5/2.75/2/1.25/0.5 second.

If the Bubble landed on an enemy champion, then it follows the target around, ground and slowing it down by 25/30/35/40/45%(+3% per 100AP).

Gust (E):

Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8 seconds; Range: 900 units; Radius: 225 units

Hold: Xale charges his blade, he cannot attack during this time, maximum charge after 2.5 seconds.

Release: Xale creates swirling wind that travels in the target direction with a swirling slash. The longer the charge, the faster the wind moves, dealing 60/90/120/150/180(+75%AD)(+75%AP) magic damage to struck enemies and knocking them up for 1 second. Runic Blade cannot change from Wind for the next 1/0.9/0.8/0.7/0.6 second.

Xale can travel with this wind, causing him to match its movement speed while within.

Night Blade (R):

Cooldown: 24/18/12 seconds; Range: 575 units / 45 degrees

Xale's attacks travel in a cone and apply Fire, Water, Wind, and Dark for the next 2/2.5/3 seconds, damaging and affecting all enemies in their paths. Runic Blade cannot change from Dark for the next 4/5/6 seconds.

Additionally, Night Blade deals 33% physical, 33% magical, and 33% true damage for the duration.
