Calling someone a magician is an insult, a sorcerer – tease, a mage – praise… I’m just a scholar.

— Moralaeth

Please give comment, critic, or whatever. I’ll take all suggestions into consideration.

Lore: Before the Ruination, the Blessed Isles were known for its technology as well as its understanding of magic. Its prosperity put the Twin Cities to shame. A celebrated scholar, Malith, was known throughout Runeterra. As a good friend of Tyrus of Helia, they often conversed about the secret of the Runes and the magics. Tyrus believed the Runes can be used for the common good, while Malith strongly opposed that idea, for only the strongest mind can resist the call of power. During the first Rune War, Malith was affected by the World Runes, cursing him with prolonged life. Due to his health, he was not able to help the Isles during the War, but rather hid away under the shadows of Mount Targon. He survived, and that meant becoming the last living citizen of the Isles. Filled with determination, Malith changed his name to Moralaeth. He traversed the world to gather up the World Runes and then send them indirectly to that young apprentice of Tyrus. The apprentice had a better chance of hiding them – he wielded the arcane magic, a power Moralaeth never bothered to explore… It was too similar to the Runes.

Region: Blessed Isles (this should be a region, honestly) Roles: enchanter/ ap bruiser/ tank/ mage Positions: Mid, support, top

Base Stats:

Health --------------------------------- 535 (+93) HP Regen --------------------------- 6 (+0.55) Mana ----------------------------------- 460 (+48) Mana Regen ---------------------- 8 (+ 0.8) Attack Damage ----------------- 55 (+3.2) Attack Speed -------------------- .645 (+1.38) Armor ---------------------------------- 22 (+3.4) Magic Resist --------------------- 30 (+0.75) Movement Speed ------------ 340 Range ---------------------------------- 375 (thresh’s)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Passives: Magical Armor: The great armor made in Malith’s honor is no simple tool. Moralaeth gains 1 armor and magic resist for every 35 bonus health.

Infused With Magic: Moralaeth’s every other auto attack (so every 2) will mark its target for 4 seconds, giving his abilities bonus effects. Moralaeth can use the empowered auto attack on allies, but he can only use normal aa’s like normal champions.

Note: Moralaeth has long cast ranges on his abilities, but to utilize their power he needs to weave in an auto attack between each cast.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Q: Hex or Tech? : Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6|| Cost: 75/85/90/100/110 mana|| Range: 1350 * 75

After 2 second of charging (can recast to cancel, returning 50% mana and cd), Moralaeth fires a beam of light from his orb (the one in the art piece), dealing 45/75/105/135/175 (+65% AP) magical damage. (In terms of charging): after fully charged, it will be automatically casted (nothing will come out if canceled). There is 0.5 second delay between fully charging and the actual cast, then it will shoot out immediately(think Xerath’s q, but slightly shorter and thinner).

Infused With Magic: Enemy(s) marked by Moralaeth: silenced for 1(+0.6 per 125 AP) second. Ally(s) marked by Moralaeth: healed for 10/20/30/40/50(+20% AP).

Note: While charging up, Moralaeth cannot attack (he’s charging it on his palm...), can still move but slowed by 10%. In terms of hit box indication, it is closer to Pyke’s q than it is to Xerath’s.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ W: Temporal Reflux : Cooldown: 40/39/38/37/36|| Cost: 30/80/130/180/230 mana|| Range: 1500; 80/100/120/140/360 radius

Active: Moralaeth enlarges his orb over 2 seconds (channeling effect), creating a magical barrier that engulfs all units within range=X for 2 second. All units inside are granted immunity to damage, cc and are immobilized (so they basically enter stasis while inside the “bubble”). After 2 seconds of the appearance of the barrier, it then compresses over 0.5 seconds squeezing all units inside to its center (or as close as they can get, unit collision is still there). Then the barrier will explode scattering (knocking back allies and enemies to the opposite direction of the center of explosion, Zigg's w style) all units to 180/200/220/240/460 radius dealing 20/40/60/80/140(70% AP) magical damage.

Infused With Magic: (for this ability it only works if the target is inside the barrier) Enemy(s) marked by Moralaeth: After being knocked back to the center of the barrier, they are stunned for 1.5 seconds. Ally(s) marked by Moralaeth: He/she(they) will not be affected by the knock back and instead gains a shield equals to 3/4/5/6/7% of their maximum hp + (50% AP)(8% maximum HP of Moralaeth) that lasts 3 seconds.

Note: The size is like the middle ground of bard’s ult and pantheon’s ult. There will be a delay between the cast and the appearance of the barrier – imagine half the time of Ekko’s w. This can be used for a lot of things: saving allies (or killing them xP), setting up enemies for wombo combos, disengaging, engaging, zoning, objective securing... It has a insane increase in usage at max rank because otherwise there would be no point in maxing this (it costs a lot of mana...)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ E: Passive Aggression : Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10|| Cost: 20/35/50/65/80 mana|| Range: 800

Moralaeth casts his orb to enhance/debuff a target, but while this is in affect he cannot attack (he doesn’t have his orb) On enemy champion cast: For the next 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds, restrict their use of violence – everytime they use an ability they will spent 3/4/5/6/7% of their maximum mana as punishment, and everytime they auto attack, 3/5/7/9/11% of that damage will be dealt to their own hp.

On ally champion cast: For the next 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds, enhance their use of violence – their abilities will deal 3/6/9/12/15% increased damage, and their auto attacks will deal 5% of Moralaeth’s AP as bonus magical damage.

Infused With Magic: All these effects will be doubled (only effects, not durations)

Note: This is hard counter to marksmen and champions like anivia. It is an average ability if cast on allies. 0.25 delay for cast.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ R: Peace Maker : (named in honor of the art work) Cooldown: 180/160/140|| Cost: 10% of Moralaeth’s current mana|| Range: 800

Moralaeth can select an ally, granting them 1/1.5/2 seconds of immunity to damage, 20/30/40% bonus movement speed, and will do 60/50/40% decreased damage.. The enemy that last damaged this ally gains 70/60/50% damage reduction, does 40/50/60% decreased damage, and receive 20/30/40% slow(all for 1/1.5/2 seconds).

Note: A somewhat simple ult. Just like its name, it will act as a “peacemaker.” It decreases the damage output of both units greatly, but it is really strong since it basically makes the enemy damage dealer exposed to cc and damage, while your front line can dive deep without worrying about dying.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Important Informations:

  • I’m probably going to add a few more ratios here and there and maybe even change his e. Currently he is too support like (although he is supposed to be a support). I want him to be able to play mid.
  • w is very strong if used well, but it can also become a big “oof” ability if you mess up.

Tips and Combos:

  • He doesn’t really have combos. The most important thing is to keep hitting those enhanced autoes and know when to use what ability.

Just some additional notes: His first passive is meant to encourage tank build (which I originally thought would've been an off-meta build). I don't really see him building AP for any reason, so I'll probably give his abilities some damage.

Tyrus in the lore is Ryze's master(mentor).

Passive is pretty darn strong.

With 6 item 3083 you'll be able to get 288 Armor and Magic Resist and 4,800 bonus health. 330 MR(76%) and 367 AR(78%) with 6,916 health(22,822 effective health with resistances). This isn't even giving items like item 3065 or item 3068 which grant defense stats AND health. item 3065 itself grants 27 AR+MR for 82 total bonus MR. And then throw in runes for more life...

Is it just me, or description of Blessed Islands sounds like Shadow Islands before they became, well, Shadow? I think it would fit nicely in the lore this way.

How do you think of this? I think a channeling is probably necessary for an ability that has the impact of an ultimate. Beside that this demonstrates my vision perfectly, thanks man.

Thanks for the names too. You have no idea how bad I am at coming up names. The name Moralaeth itself was made by a WoW character name generator (sad, i know).

I'll change the abilitie's name at a later date.
