Darkins are fallen Ascendants. What if the Aspects themselves are fallen?

— Ovenaas

Please give comment, critic, or whatever. I’ll take all suggestions into consideration.

This concept is here thanks to ChaosReyn, who told me what a darkin is. (which was like a month ago...) This concept is a… different type of Darkin, so it will be different than what one would call a Darkin.

Lore Summary: Possible full lore in the future The Goat told him to go to Shurima to seek the power of the Gods, and with that power he will bring peace to Freljord...

Full lore coming up.

Region: Freljord Roles: tank/ enchanter Positions: top, support

Base Stats:

Health --------------------------------- 575 (+98) HP Regen --------------------------- 4 (+0.55) Mana ----------------------------------- N/A Mana Regen ---------------------- N/A Attack Damage ----------------- 68 (+ 3.5) Attack Speed -------------------- .675 (+1.2) Armor ---------------------------------- 15 (+3.1) Magic Resist --------------------- 18 (+2.45) Movement Speed ------------ 345 Range ---------------------------------- 125

Note: one of the tanks with higher stats For some reason Riot gives tanks relatively low stats due to their kits’ survivability, but this champ is basically designed to do nothing but tank. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Passives: (the following / will indicate levels 1/7/13) Armored Titan : Ovenaas wears the armor that sealed a Freljord Demigod. When Ovenaas take damage over 50%(-1 for every 55 bonus health but cannot be lower than 8%) of his maximum health, he is healed for 35% of the damage dealt over 5 second. He also gains 5/7/10 bonus health for every 12/10/8 bonus AR or MR.

Note: One of the shortest passive you will ever see for my concepts xD. With more and more max hp% damage, tanks are getting bullied pretty hard, and this will help him survive only if he builds a lot of hp (don’t want to break his bruiser build). The second part of the passive is not as strong as it sounds. At level 13 with 400 bonus AR and MR combined, you will have 500 bonus health, but let’s be real, you’re not getting that much bonus armor or mr.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Q: Oversized Gauntlet : Cooldown: 22/19/16/13/10|| Cost: 25/35/45/55/65 health

Passive: (only unlocked if Ovenaas has more than 45/55/65/75/85 bonus AR) Ovenass's auto attack slows and cripples (meaning reducing AS) the attacker by 6(+0.15 maximum health)% for 1 second.

Active: Ovenaas swings his fist forward (range [40*150]), dealing 70/90/110/130/150(+50% AD)(+70% AP) physical damage and knocking all units back to the end of the fist (150 units from himself).

Note: The passive allows Ovenass to greatly counter adcs, which is why I made the active scaling increase so noticeable so people won’t just leave this at rank 1. Active is pretty average since 40 by 150 is quite small.

Note that the active pushes ALL units, meaning this can be used offensively on enemies or defensively on allies.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ W: Spirit Bound : Cooldown: 20|| Cost: 5% maximum health

Ally cast: Ovenaas links himself to a champion within 700 units of him (visible link, resembles that of Taric’s). For 3/3.5/4/4.5/6 second (breaks if the ally is not within 1100 units of him), all crowd control on the ally is transferred to Ovenaas with half its duration (so just like if he had 50 tenacity). If no crowd control is transferred within a second, Ovenaas transfers 2/2.5/3/3.5/4% of his current health each second (stops once a new cc is applied). If the link breaks, Ovenaas slows himself and all units within 200 units of him by 50% for 1 second.

Enemy cast: Ovenaas links himself to a champion within 600 units of him (invisible link). He deals 30/40/50/60/70% of the damage he took (before resistance) as magical damage to the target. This link lasts 3 seconds, and breaks if:

  1. Ovenaas and the target are over 1000 units apart.
  1. The target received (from this ability only) over 30% of their maximum health within 1 second.

Note: An insane ability if used right. Ally cast: Decent anti-cc shield, but the healing can get really op at the cost of Ovenaas's own health (can't wait to see him and soraka together on URF ;)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ E: Aggressive Armor : Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10|| Cost: 5% current health

The Demigod tries to take over Ovenaas. The armor shoots out a line of celestial magic that has a range of 600. If Ovenaas has over 50% health, he pulls himself to the target hit (if any, structures don't count), dealing 20/30/40/50/60 (+60% AP) magical damage. If Ovenaas is below 50% health, he pulls the target to him and heals for 5% of the target's current health and deal the same amount as magical damage.

Note: Not random anymore. Added some AP ratios for possible AP bruiser build (added AP ratios for q too). ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ R: Infestation : Cooldown: 160/140/120|| Cost: N/A (technically it doesn't matter)

Ovenaas gets rid of all negative effects on himself and channels for 0.5 second. After channeling, Ovenaas becomes rooted, invisible, untargetable, and invulnerable for 2 seconds and he can recast within 3 seconds. Recast: Ovenaas can target an ally (upon entering that state, there will be a blue circle around him showing the range) within 600 units of him and attach himself to it until he dies. If his host dies, he will die as well (there will be no way of exiting that state unless the he or the host dies). After recasting, his "body" will disappear. If Ovenaas's host gets feared, Ovenaas will be under death timer, leaving his host, but will not grant gold to anyone.

When attached to someone else (imagine him as a ghost armor hovering above the ally’s head), he:

  • grants 5/10/15% of his resistances to the ally.
  • is not part of the host’s hitbox (so he is literally like a ghost)
  • keeps all his stats and active items (items like edge of night applies the shield to the host)
  • has 50/60/70% health and will take 20% of the damage for his host
  • gains new spells with separate cooldowns:

Q: Oversized Gauntlet : Cooldown: 8/7/6/5/4|| Cost: N/A

Ovenaas swings his fist (range centered on the host)( hitbox [40(radius)*300(forward distance)]) and pulls all units hit back to the host. This deals 10*level of host (+40% total AD of host)(+40% AP of Ovenaas).

W: Spirit Bound : Cooldown: 7|| Cost: N/A

Ovenaas makes his host immune to non-auto projectiles for 3 seconds. Trustworthy Allies: If there are more than 2 ally champions within 1000 units of the host, Ovenaas will transfer 10% of the damage they take (after resistance) to himself as physical damage (so the damage will be reduced by both the teammate's resistances and Ovenaas's armor).

E: Aggressive Armor : Cooldown: 10|| Cost: 30% current health of Ovenaas

Ovenaas explodes in a 300 radius, nearsighting all enemies hit by 1 second and deals 30% of his current health as magical damage. Ovenaas then transfers the rest of his health (after using that 30%) all to his host (flat number, not by percentage). Ovenaas then dies, granting all enemy champions 80 gold.

Note: Too much to say, so I’ll say nothing xP ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This concept was actually done a long time ago, but I tried to add some aspects of Abathur, a hero from HoTS, which wasn’t that easy for me.

Hope you enjoyed xD

Just a remainder:

The Demigod mentioned is not Ovenaas. His armor traps a demigod instead of a Darkin. It will make more sense when the lore comes out.

Oven Ass?

This sounds like a reaaaaally teamoriented champion, basically a lose in soloQ if your adc doesnt know how to handle him. On the other hand he could be devastating in pro play and probably gutted to the ground.

That W ability is insanely good! Also, Freljordian champion, upvoted! :D The rest of the kit, really great! That ult with the new abilities, also really great! It's just a really great champion concept! Well done :D

Can’t have him control allies.

Anything else I have would be general complaints regarding numbers or basic mechanics to work around. I’d rather save it for your next iteration if you want.

Also, check out Mina from Dawngate. She’s the same idea of using an ally as a host, but as a mage support.

He seems like a really dark character, I like the concept. You did a great job and it's something unique ^_^

PavLoo3/16/2019, 4:27:50 PM1 votes

Seems good.

Way too team oriented when he'd probably be played top and support, needs more agency to sololane Also I think he should scale off AP

Hey nice concept bro :D , would be a pretty relevant and ( though lumbering ) , but fun top lane that can even go toe to toe with a Sion main , + he can be a pretty nice Support aswell i would love to tinker and play this champ hahah Gj gj [slayer-pantheon-rainbows]

Hmmm OK a dark in armor concept but I'd say it should have more weight ever play dmc4 the way the Mac has this ghost aura (susanoo for better refrence) since he has the mode switch ( good mech to have him bind to an ally movement) But in his regular form i this k you might want to change his w yo when linked to an enemy unit he transferred 60% of the damage he receives to the bound enemy and slow them by 25% while bound within 800 unit's. You can make the slow stronger the further they get from him . This way he becomes better at solo. You can still have him heal a portion of health if the bound enemy dies. The rest of his kit is great i was making a similar concept but never completed it so this is nice to see jeep it up*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*

Couple comments, pretty nice general idea though.

Lore: Baccai and Darkin are somewhat different things, one being a failed ascension and the other being a megalomaniac that also happens to be an Ascendant. (Some would say they are any Ascended that fought at the Battle of Icathia, but no one considers Nasus a Darkin.) Because of their failed ascension, Baccai couldn’t become Ascended and later be called Darkin. If the Baccai managed to keep its sanity, I don’t think it’s impossible for it to have obtained and resisted a Darkin’s influence after their imprisonment...

Abilities: For his passive, perhaps making the bonus health and healing-per-damage not affect each other, similar to Ryze. Also, mayhaps a time limit or limit per entering combat for his heal should be in place.

He Q shouldn’t be able to move allied champions or their pets, like Azir’s Soldiers, as to prevent trolling. Otherwise, seems ok. I find a passive that locks itself if you don’t meet its requirements interesting.

For the ally cast on his W, I think he should be able to prematurely break it in order to still transfer crowd control and slow himself/nearby enemies, but won’t heal. For his enemy cast, is it 70% of the damage he took while the link is active or a different condition?

Can either of the health forms for his W be used on allies?

I feel like his R doesn’t really fit lore-wise. If he were a Baccai wearing a Darkin, why is it his whole body disappears? If it is a Baccai and a Darkin trapped in the same body ala golemization, again, why does his whole body disappear? Though you could argue Kayn and Rhaast do the same thing, Kayn has Shadow Magic that may help and Rhaast is the Darkin of Death(?) and may be explained as him “infecting” his target with Blood Magic/Fleshcrafting. Not saying it’s bad, just saying that I’d like a lore reason for his whole body disappearing. As for the ability itself I feel like Suppressed would work better than Fear, he shouldn’t be able to kill himself because again trolls exist, and I dislike that the bond is permanent until either dies.

He only worked on his upper body apparantly

FCJAAAAGOOOO3/16/2019, 6:26:08 PM1 votes

One problem:

NO ONE would pronounce his name Ovenaas.

Mr Voidling3/16/2019, 7:32:22 PM1 votes

I can already see it... Teammate playing as him decides to choose me with R, uses E immediately after, and just runs into the enemy team. Also, he isn't exactly tanky without items. You note that he has higher stats, but his tank stats are basically lower than all other champion's stats in-game.

So... what if he builds item 3504 item 3222 item 3107 and item 3065 item 3022 item 3083 and revitalize? That's 75-80% increased healing... so 85-87.5% of damage taken healed, and Heal cut would lower this to 52.5%, triggering at 12% Health(around 500 of his 4,300 Health, healing back 437-262 Health or taking 63/500 - 238/500 damage). Heal cut would still make it more than the original amount healed, so still mechanically a delayed 52.5% bonus damage reduction. Given if you go Grasp as your main rune then he'll have more health so you can possibly have a 10-8% health proc.
