Who is your favorite champion?

I mean lore wise.

My favorite is Ryze. He has been through countless tragics, and he understands that sacrifice must be made...

“There are many children among us. And three of our women are swollen with child. You would doom us all?” asked Yago desperately.

“How many are in this village?” asked Ryze.

“Ninety-two” replied Yago.

“And how many are in the world?”

Syndra

It's just a coincidence tbh. Well, not really, but here's the thing: I like powerful characters, no matter in which story. What made me like Syndra with her first lore, is how she used her powers. She wanted to use it for herself, because she just liked it. I'm not fan of the "I must use my power for the greater good without ever thinking about me" cliché. All she ever wanted (in her old lore), was to break her own barriers, to push away her limits (she was not "power hungry" as people used to imagine. She wasn't looking to take power from the land, like Zed for example, she just wanted to explore her own potential). Now, in her new lore, things are a bit different, but she still is this enormous powerhouse, that is naturally powerful. She's always been bullied and lied to, and now that she's finally free, she's ready to take her destiny into her own hands. Plus I really like her in The Dreaming Pool. Can't wait for her to get an actual color story :O!

"My potential is limitless. I will not be restrained."

Twisted Fate! Love being able to ult around and engage. Also with tp as a summoner spell, double the fun.

Kassadin second. Ungankable at lvl 6

Talon Because he is loyal to who he serves. To who he respects. He is not a traitor, not a man that leaves his job half done. He has no hand in dirty schemes, he just does what he does best. I wish I could write more but he is still outdated [zombie-nunu-tears]

In lore, Miss Fortune and Darius. Rugged, intelligent and brutal warriors who rose to prominence through their own grit and skill. Without magic to make their path easier.

Swain is half step down. Military geniuses always make me happy. Sure he also has his magic, but he got it by tricking a demon. Which I can at least respect.

Xerath

A champion built on ironies.

All things he dared to do were for freedom, directly and indirectly, changed him to what he loathed for his entire life. Sparkles fueled by hatred, burned his humanity away. He became what he would destroy. A tyrant over everyone, but even worse than what he ever met.

He dreamed freedom, so he obliterated his still loving best friend in that regard. He made it sure Shurima would collapse, so he could get free.

Sadly (more like fortunately), he is less free than ever. Sarcophagus and Tomb of the Emperors, 2 imprisoments in a row made him even more lost.

Ambition, hatred, loneliness, power, isolation consumed him entirely. He is insane. He needs help desperately. In his deep soul, he probably knows that.

I'm really looking forward to Ezreal's future developments after his update; he has a good chance of becoming my favorite lore-wise.

For now though, I have a ton of Champions that I barely play but enjoy story-wise or personality-wise. Swain, Lux, Taliyah, Miss Fortune, a good chunk of Ionians and Freljordians. Mordekaiser probably tops this list, an expansionist with such incredible ambition that he continues his empire beyond death is pretty...well, pretty metal, and I love the repercussions his story has on both modern-day Noxus and the Shadow Isles. I look forward to see how they develop Morde's lore with his upcoming VGU.

It's Elise, followed by Karthus. They have similarities, but also contrast eachother.

My runner-ups are Veigar and Vel'Koz.

Evelynn She run's around making happy people miserable, ruining their lives and destroying families(Vayne ) how she came into being is interesting since we didn't really know much about Demon's until her rework, she's just cool, she looks amazing too.

Ahri Sort of a similar story, except Ahri feels bad for what she did, i love how she looks as well.

Neeko There's a pattern here somewhere. Neeko's story is the longest, i think the other two need to be more fleshed out, especially Evelynn's since, i mean, she killed Vayne's family but i digress. Neeko's story is sad at first but afterwards it's the story of someone primitive trying to survive in a world that isn't anymore, she joins up with Nidalee for awhile(has a crush on her) and then moves on but is always looking for something interesting, ironically she has voice lines for both Evelynn and Ahri and i main all 3 of them.

Pantheon I really love the 'gods among men' and 'gods atop Mt Olympus' thematic Targon has going, and of course his spartan aesthetic. I'm looking forward to see how he fits into the new Targonian aesthetic we see on Zoe AurelionSol Taric, once he is reworked.

Similarly I'm looking forward to any Targonian aesthetics in the KayleMorgana update.

Syndra... tho her recent lore update really messed with her characterization... something I Hope Riot addresses. The aspect of her training them subsequent betrayal is the point in particular. Originally, Syndra was growing into her power and revelling in her constant growth, then the Elder who was supposed to be fostering her was revealed to actually be hampering her, then he threatens to remove her powers in totality... so she lashes out. From this original story, it was surmised that syndra has been bullied as a child and that there was a possibility that the Elders weren’t as benevolent as Ionians would think... whether that be due to needing to sap her power to fuel theirs for the war, being jealous of her powers or jsut being scared.
I think there were a few changes since the update, but even now there’s still an element of justification missing that gave Syndra some more understability. The Elder didn’t threaten her but instead tried to console her.... keeping the”theeatene To remove her power” aspect is what made her outrage sympathetic.

Other than that, the Dreaming Pool story was quite a damn good story haha. Tho my personal favorite color story is The Eye of the Abyss, So much tension, for me it was the first glimpse as to why the Void is such an important storyline, yes it was always an important and relevant plot line, but that color story cemented and sparked the “oh shit” factor.... and that was before we saw the first Voidspawn.
