LORE When the desert kingdom of Shurima was first created, many titanic horrors roamed the desert that prevented Azir's great ancestors from creating their glorious empire. After centuries of being slaughtered, day by day, the emperor declared that the time of peace had finally come. In order to defeat these titanic creatures that feasted on the flesh of the humans who resided in Shurima, the emperor created the Ascended. These were powerful warriors blessed by an artifact created by the emperor's priests known as the Sun Disk. Those blessed by the Sun Disk were said to gain the powers of a god, and they would use such power to defeat the horrors of the desert. The first Ascended was put to the test when she was sent into the desert to destroy the nearest horror she could find, which ended up being a titanic locust-like creature ravaging the crops of a nearby village. Followed by hordes of locust, this creature squared off against the Ascended. The fight lasted many hours before the Ascended finally realized something about the monster she was fighting. No matter how she wounded the creature, the flesh on it's body would grow back in no time. As their fight continued, she slowly began to unravel the pieces of the puzzle surrounding this enigma of a monster.
The locusts released from the creature's body weren't just linked to the creature like an ant would be to it's queen. These locusts not only followed it's orders, they were linked to it spiritually as well. Whenever the locusts consumed the flesh of human or the crops of the desert, they would essentially pour the nutrients gained this way into their master, allowing the terror to regenerate wounds at speeds almost without compare. This was almost without compare due to the fact that the Ascended existed. The reason this fight had lasted so long was because the locusts were somehow powerful enough to bite into the flesh of the ascended being herself, constantly pouring the power of a god into the locust. The worst part was this fight wasn't getting easier as she continued to fight. It seemed the power being stolen from her was empowering the horror. The worst part about it was, while she needed this power to survive, she had an endless supply since, while the locusts could devour the flesh from her skin, she was regenerating it far faster. This providing the creature with an endless supply of power, allowing it to slowly equal the playing field. While she knew the power she had been given was supposedly infinite, she did not want to test it. Somehow, she needed to win this fight.
After the duo had been fighting for days, the ginormous locust finally had the power to fling the Ascended across the desert like one would skip a stone across a lake. The Ascended coughed out sand that had filled her lungs and looked forward at the now immense being that was slowly making it's way towards her after such a toss. Knowing now that the power she had was not infinite, her mind raced to find a solution to the dilemma that faced her. Then, it hit her. She didn't have to kill this being, she simply had to imprison it. After standing up and taunting the horror as if to tell it to follow her, she rushed back towards the Sun Disk. Like a moth to a light, the creature followed. Upon arriving at the capital, the emperor was enraged to see the immense being slowly approaching his city. However, the Ascended explained her plan and told the emperor to prepare his men. After hearing her out about how she herself could not kill this beast due to it's sapping powers, the emperor agreed to the plan and went to work.
As the soldiers prepared, locusts began to fly into the city and devour the flesh of those within. Many died, and hope was beginning to fade from the soldiers of the city. The titanic locust horror had almost arrived, bringing with him a thicker and thicker cloud of locusts. Eventually, the horror was so close that the horizon was blocked out by the locusts flying overhead. All who lived within the city were forced to retreat into the confinements of the palace, something the emperor was not fond of but knew was necessary to save his people. The sky was darkened and the sun soon faded from sight. It was at this time that despair began to set into the hearts of those within the palace. This creature that was at their doorstep was no longer just one of the monsters roaming the desert. Thanks to the power it had absorbed from the Ascended, it was a god to them. Believing it would not kill them if they offered it sacrifice, many of the citizens began to turn on each other. Within the walls of the palace, a massacre began. Those who were loyal to the emperor and those who now worshiped this new god now called Rallunatt, which was Shuriman for "Plague of Locusts", began to kill those of the opposite side. The floors of the palace were stained with their blood. However, this was nothing compared to the massacre that happened when one of the insane followers of Rallunatt opened the gates to the outside, letting the locusts in.
The emperor and all who could fled to the tombs below, seeing that the end was near. However, just when it seemed hope was lost, a burst of light flooded the palace from outside. The Ascended had sprung its trap and sunlight now burned the locusts outside like a fire would paper. Rallunatt, who now stood just over the palace, began to shrivel in size as it's pets faded from existence. However, the locusts that were still alive now swarmed towards the Ascended who stood above the palace. As expected, Rallunatt began to increase in size once more as its locusts feasted upon the Ascended. The soldiers watching believed that hope was lost when this occurred, but the Ascended knew that such was not true. From behind her, the Ascended revealed a medallion made from the same material as the Sun Disk. Now lunging towards Rallunatt, the Ascended splattered it's own blood onto the medallion before plunging the medallion into Rallunatt's head. Then, in a flash of light much like the first, both Rallunatt and the Ascended disappeared. All of the locusts had also disappeared, allowing the emperor and those inside to exit the palace. The emperor raised the medallion to the sky and pronounced that the horror was dead!
A loud cheer filled the air as the kingdom of Shurima had lived to see another day. Those who had massacred their fellow neighbors within the palace were sentenced to death and executed on the spot. After such an event, the emperor could see that just one Ascended was not enough to clear the desert of these beings of immense power. So, the emperor began to train warriors who he believed the Sun Disk would find worthy of such power. Over time, many more Ascended would rise and fall, allowing Shurima to eventually become the most powerful empire in Runeterra. However, after many, many centuries, it seemed this was not meant to last. When Xerath caused the fall of the Shuriman empire, the desert grew silent. Those who had previously sworn loyalty to the emperor now found themselves without a leader and scattered across the world, some staying within the desert while others found new homes elsewhere. The tombs of Shurima, without proper guarding, were raided until few remained untouched. Shurima became a wasteland where only memories of the past existed.
However, with Azir being reawakened from his death and now being an Ascended himself, the empire rises with him. With his reappearance also the reappearance of Xerath, who now seeks for ways to defeat his foe. With Renekton at his side, Xerath sought out many different ways to make the desert his own. As he read through many ancient texts, he would eventually come to discover the origins of the Ascended and would come to learn of Rallunatt, now known as The God of the Ravenous. For weeks, Xerath sought where the medallion was hidden within the desert. When it seemed like it had been lost forever, one of the men who Xerath had taken control of via their mind returned to him, telling him that they had found it. The medallion was passed on to Xerath, who marveled at it's magnificent. After doing some research, Xerath prepared to break the medallion and set free the ravenous god within it. Nasus, who had foreseen such an event happening, alerted Azir of the coming danger. Both set out to stop the release of such a powerful creature, knowing that what Xerath planned to do was not something he could control. As the day turned to dusk, they struck. Nasus and Azir, along with those had decided to join them in their efforts, clashed with Xerath and Renekton in an abandoned city that Xerath had taken control of. As gods clashed, the men of both sides tore at each other, wishing to claim victory for their side. As Xerath and Azir fought, it seemed like an even battle when suddenly a spray of overwhelming potent poison was flung into the eyes of Azir, blinding him entirely. Nasus, unable to break away from Renekton, watched as his emperor knelt down in slight pain. Cassiopeia, now revealing herself from the shadows, brought Xerath the medallion and, with the small amount of time that he had obtained, he performed a spell that released the horror within. A shock wave sent everyone within the city flying into the sands outside, instantly killing all but the Ascended and Cassiopeia, who Xerath had protected with a bubble of arcane energy.
At first, there was an eerie silence that made wading through the cloud of dust and sand all the more unsettling. However, before long, all could hear it: the sound of buzzing. Out of the cloud of dust came a swarm of locusts that began to eat away at Azir and Nasus, forcing them to flee. Xerath, Renekton, and Cassiopeia, watched as the horror ascended into the sky before them. With a malicious laugh, Xerath gazed upon Rallunatt. This laugh did not last long however. The giant creature turned it's gaze to the bubble and wrapped it's hand around the bubble. Xerath, using his arcane powers, attempted to take control of the creature by taking control of it's mind. When he tried to however, a booming collection of voices and buzzing noises filled his previously thought to be infinite mind, forcing him to stop casting the spell. Despite studying the creature for so long, Xerath did not realize what the Ascended who had first fought the horror had. Rallunatt was not just one being, but also all of the locusts that followed it. They were all linked and attempting to look into the mind of one of them meant looking into the minds of all of them. It didn't help that Rallunatt himself was a being of immense power, having already stolen the power of the first Ascended, many of the humans who lived in the empire of the first emperor, many corpses that now littered the city they were within, Nasus, and Azir. Seeing his mistake, Xerath forced Rallunatt's hands off of the protective bubble and cast a spell that caused them all to teleport far away from the immense horror. Rallunatt, now freed from his prison, began to roam the desert once more.
Azir and Nasus had failed. They looked upon the titanic being that strode through the desert like it was it's own. Kneeling down in defeat, the two Ascended beings began to lose hope when a voice told them to rise. Before them was a woman, except it was no normal woman. With the head of a sheep, the first Ascended stood before Nasus and Azir. Rallunatt was not the only being sealed within the medallion. It seemed the first Ascended had also trapped herself within the medallion in order to keep the creature in check for all eternity. Revealing her name to be Nadia, she asked for an explanation on why the God of the Ravenous had been released. After much explanation, she understood the situation. Knowing that it would be disadvantageous to charge at Rallunatt with Xerath and Renekton nearby, the three retreated to the capital in order to form a plan. Azir wished to stay and stop the titan, but Nadia revealed that doing so would only endanger all of their lives. Nadia explained that if he, the emperor, or Nasus died, Shurima would truly fall; this time for good. With little time to spare, Azir, Nasus, and Nadia returned to the capital to form a plan. In the meantime, Rallunatt ravaged the desert, beginning it's feast upon the citizens and crops of the desert once more after an eternity of slumber.

Rallunatt is a Battle Mage that can only be called a "God of Zoning". With the ability to make enemies fear his mere presence and the ability to send large swarms of locusts across the map, enemies will fear the locusts that swarm around them whether they want to or not. Enemies who plan on engaging him directly better prepare to either reduce his healing or outdamage it, because they're in for a long, grinding fight. Rallunatt wants his enemies to group together and try to take him down and suffers when they don't. This means that enemy teams who properly coordinate their assault on the monster will be able to easily squash this big bug. He will typically wish to start his game in the Jungle and use his immense healing to counter jungle the enemy by being near both large monsters and champions for immense combat sustain. The enemy team should be prepared for early team fights should the God of the Ravenous choose to do this. Thank you for reading and any feedback is appreciated, as long as said feedback is constructive of course!
