@Riot Have you ever thought of items specific to Runeterra regions?

Now I don't mean ones with ties to regions like item 3158 , but ones that are only purchasable by champions residing in those regions. I feel like this could make for an odd but interesting factor in choosing both champions and items for a game. For example: Do I choose Garen or Darius? (yes I know normally Darius is stronger but hold on)

Well, let's say there is a Demacia specific item called Demacian Chestplate, which gives Health, movement speed, and a unique passive which states something like: when out of combat for X seconds, generate a shield for X amount. When the shield breaks gain a burst of X movement speed for X seconds.

And for our Noxian citizens there is an item called Bloodsoaked Gauntlet (melee only). This item could give Health based on % bonus (similar to cinderhulk) as well as X armor, with a unique passive of: dealing physical damage will increase AD for X seconds, stacking up to X amount of times. Only one stack is possible to be gained per spell cast or basic attack and at maximum stacks any further stack will instead give a shield based on 20% of the damage dealt.

Both of those items would potentially be great on each champion, but they emphasize a certain area which is needed for different situations. Demacian Chestplate would be great in a game where you had the potential to be kited constantly or bursted for some escape, while Bloodsoaked Gauntlet would be great for when a teamfighting juggernaut is needed to carry or do more damage, without much worry of being kited.

"But Fenris, this just sounds like champion-specific items, not region-specific items!" And you'd be right, except that there ARE other champions in each region which would like these items!

Demacian Chestplate would also be great on people such as JarvanIV Galio and Shyvana . Bloodsoaked Gauntlet would also be amazing on Sion!

I think this would add a neat element of diversity into decision making with League, let me know what you think!

Going to have to go with a firm "no" here. It's added complexity, and needlessly limiting for a number of champions. It's also a balance nightmare: now you have to not only take champions and itemization into account, but ALSO any unique faction items only they have access to.

It's also problematic for all the champion's who don't fit nicely into an existing category: Bard, Gnar, Zyra, Shaco...the list goes in and on and on.

That would be sweet.
