Idea for a rather unique champion passive

I'm thinking either a Top lane Brawler that wields a melee weapon or just his/her fist, or a marksman that throws their weapon.

Passive : Auto attacks canceled by movement commands still occur, inflicting a portion of the damage that a normal auto attack would that would depend on how early/late the attack was canceled. Auto attacks that trigger this passive cannot crit nor apply on-hit effects.

Thoughts on it: I think it is certainly unique as canceling auto attacks is one of the few things not touched by a champion ability (unless you count kalista's, but sense it merely states that you can't cancel an auto attack, I wouldn't). As for why I would choose a Brawler or a champion that throws their weapon? Well it just makes sense to me. Everytime you play Sion you see him take this gigantic oversized swing at the target with his axe (or just punches them lol) and I thought it would be cool if you could cancel it to do a portion of the damage to represent an attack that is meant to be fast but not powerful...like a flick of the wrist type motion.

I think it's stupid af. I shouldn't have to tell you why, but I probably should since you thought this was a good idea and couldn't figure out the major flaw of it.

Auto attacks are cancelled because of 2 things:

  1. The enemy moves out or range
  2. You change your position during the attack animation

If this passive were a thing, the gameplay would be "get close enough to start the attack animation and run away, rinse, repeat".

I can tell you put exactly zero thought into this.

Except that a.) if it's a top lane brawler then their auto attack range is so low that it wouldn't really matter (since they have to get in range anyways and the range is easy to escape and stay out of) and if it's an ADC, then the majority of their damage relies on crits and on hit effects, since neither of these apply to the canceled attacks the damage would be minimal.

b.) As the passive states, if the attack is canceled by a move command, so the enemy merely stepping out of range wouldn't trigger it

C.) If placed on an ADC, the kiting potential could be very real. However since the ADC is losing on-hit effects including crits AND the damage of the attack is nerfed based on how early they have canceled the attack then that means that a huge portion of the damage would be gone

Zero. Thought.

If this were on any ranged champion, they could start the animation, step out of enemy range before the enemy attack animation finished and tilt them into inevitability. You should probably stay in school.

Ok lets say have 200 ad (very reasonable I think). You begin the animation and immediatley cancel it. You are so fast that you were able to cancel the animation 10% in. That means that your auto attack deals 20 damage, before armor mitigation

Totes broken

Also lets totally forget that this isn't a Rune or an item that just anyone can pick up, this is a champion, whose entire kit could be balance around this concept.

Example: Fussy toddler says "this on an adc would be SOOOOO broken!!!". Fine....we'll put it on an Top lane brawler with long attack animations
