#ABILITIES

Passive: Acid Stream Range | 100

Innate: For 3 seconds after casting a spell, Sur'Xod spreads a trail of Corrosive Acid that deals 21 - 85 (+ 35% bonus AD) physical damage per second and slows by 20%. Acid trails last for 3 seconds.

Sur'Xod ignores unit collision.

Q: Caustic Shot Cost | 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 Cooldown | 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 seconds Range | 825

Active: After .5 seconds Sur'Xod spits a globule of acid that deals 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+ 70% bonus AD) physical damage to enemies hit and spreads Corrosive Acid.

W: Friction Charge Cost | 65 Cooldown | 18 / 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 seconds Range: 1100

Active: Sur'Xod ignites all acid within 1100 radius, dealing 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+ 70% bonus AD) physical damage to enemies standing on an acid trail and slowing then by 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60% for 2 seconds, but removing the acid in progress.

E: Slaughter Cost | 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 Cooldown | 13 seconds Range | 550

Passive: After dashing, flashing or being pulled by things like Thresh's lantern, Sur'Xod's next attack deals bonus damage based on 2 / 2.25 / 2.5 / 2.75 / 3% (+ 1% per 100 bonus AD) of the target's maximum health.

Active: Sur'Xod dashes to an enemy, dealing 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 / 75 (+ 55% bonus AD) physical damage and spreading Corrosive Acid in his wake.

Slaughter can be cast another time with no cost within 5 seconds.

R: Corrosive Vortex Cost | 100 Cooldown | 120 / 105 / 90 Range | 900

Active: After .5 seconds, Sur'Xod erupts 16 projectiles of acid around him that deal 150 / 250 / 350 (+ 105% bonus AD) physical damage and slowing enemies hit (by the projectiles) by 80%, decaying over 2.5 seconds (damage does not stack) and obviously spreading Corrosive Acid.

#PLAYING AS SUR'XOD

Sur'Xod is a mobile bruiser whose main power is his ability to dash in, spreading trails of acid that deal damage and slow his opponents. Sur'Xod is meant to be played as a jungler, being able to take down camps quickly with his damage over time, and having the ability to chase down and stick onto enemies with his E and W. With his high damage output, Sur'Xod relies on engaging fights, diving into the enemy team while slowing them down with Crippling Acid and having a hell of a teamfight ult that can turn the tide of the teamfight.

#LORE

A voidborn captured as a fetus by Zaunite scientists, Sur'Xod is a merciless predator who escaped Zaun with intelligence and by slaughtering anyone in his way. Now, Sur'Xod infiltrated Kumungu to devour the land's fiercest creatures, slowing them down with deadly acid before feasting them completely.

Z.O.V.R (Zaunite Observational Voidborn Research) Labs Subject 3 Lead doctor: Dr. Zenon Folmar Date: 6/22

Voidborn sample recovered from Kumungu in 6/15.

Sample appears dead when brought into the facility, including tissue necrosis. The tests reveal no remarkable cellular activity.

Subject 3 shall be left into an oxygen contained tank for the night. The chemicals should make the sample evolve and develop by itself.

Date: 6/23

Tests now reveal frantic cellular activity and the sample started moving. Massive generational changes in its cells. At cellular level the sample shows strains of all 6 of our current Voidborn samples, and many other strains I cannot recognize. I've found cells that resemble Maw, Ohe and Sai species, with an unnamed cell being the most dominant. It is likely that this is a species we have not yet registered.

Date: 6/24

Subject 3 started developing an exoskeleton. Over the last night it has grown more than 150% of its original size when it was brought here. It is truly fascinating how fast this thing develops. We might have to move it from this tank into a bigger chamber soon due to how fast it's growing. I can't map what cells cause its rabid development, but if I could harness them it could lead to huge genetic innovations for Zaunite scientists.

Date: 6/25

Over the last night Subject 3 developed vital organs that are visible in its transparent body. I'm seeing a heart, eyes, a still developing brain and limbs.

Date: 6/26

Subject 3 is developing acid clands. This might make it a Maw -species' voidborn, though it's developing quite differently from Zov'Maw (Subject 7). It is too early to make assumptions, we'll see when it's matured.

Date: 6/29

Subject 3 is developing a digestive system though it still has not developed a mouth. It clearly has a motor function, it's trying to stand.

Subject 3's body is no longer transparent, and it has started to develop thicker skin.

I've also noticed that Subject 3's flouroantinomic acid is strong enough to dissolve steel into smaller particles. The acid could be used to develop stronger chemtech weapons, but we should also be vary if the materials in our chambers can handle it.

Date: 6/30

Subject 3 was moved to a large chamber that should be made of materials immune to its powerful acid. It seems to be enjoying itself.

Right now it is about the size of a dog. Currently standing at 32 inches 105 lbs on four legs. It looks nothing like a Maw species' voidborn, it could be of a completely new species we have not yet discovered. It has tendrils growing from its head and its acid clands are visible in spots not covered with skin. It walks on all fours instead of on hind legs.

This species shall be named Xod by the Z.O.V.R Labs officials.

Date: 7/1

Subject 3 "Sur'Xod" did something truly fascinating. I witnessed it speak language with meaning. Most are one to two word sentences. "Doctor... Folmar" "Preparation" "Subject... Three." This really feels like making history. This creature is very intelligent. It could be useful if we decided to try to tame it.

Date: 7/2

I've noticed the purpose of the parts not covered by skin. It can spray its acid to up, behind, left and right directions without turning his head towards his prey. It could also function as a self-defense against a pack of predators trying to surround it.

Date: 7/9

Subject 3 stands at about 7.5 feet high. It's trying to escape. I've detected several blobs of its acids in the window to my office. If the window isn't changed, over time the acids will crack it open. I'll have some workers change the window by tomorrow.

Date: 7/10

At 08:13, Subject 3 is found dead in its chamber. No heartbeat tracked in over 3 hours. The reason for its death is unknown.

#Escape

About an hour after Sur'Xod died, 8 workers are on their way to pick up the corpse. Dr. Folmar is ready to enter Sur'Xod's chamber and make an early diagnosis for why it had died.

Dr. Folmar was stepping down the stairs, while hearing contious loud beeps from the computer.

"Beep... beep... beep..."

Dr. Folmar told the men to wait. He exitted the chamber and went back upstairs to his office.

He went to view the screen, and he noticed... that the beeps were signifying Sur'Xod's heart-rate.

The beeps grew louder and faster.

"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP..."

"Was it playing dead?" Dr. Folmar thought. He called everybody to get out, but he was too late. Sur'Xod woke and screeched, before leaping on one of the workers, spewing acid and biting its head clean off.

Dr. Folmar thought the best solution would be to close the chamber so Sur'Xod couldn't get out and destroy the facility. However, one worker's leg was stuck between the doors so it couldn't close completely.

The man screamed "Help me!", slamming the doors and trying to fit through the space between them. When Sur'Xod had spewed his deadly acid all around his chamber, the workers in his domain had no chance of surviving.

Dr. Folmar called for the security guards and ran away himself.

After everybody was dead, Sur'Xod charged through the doors and finally got out of his chamber he has spent his whole life in.

Dr. Folmar ran against the security guards that were going to stop Sur'Xod. The guards watched the door as it was slowly dissolved into gas by Sur'Xod's acid. Dr. Folmar ran away and trusted that the squad would be victorious.

Sur'Xod charged through the door. The guards shouted "Open fire!" and started shooting Sur'Xod with hextech-powered rifles. A few hit him before he erupted acid to all directions, annihilating the guards and the room they were in. Sur'Xod ran away, leaving some of the guards slowly die from his acid. He didn't kill them to eat them, he killed them to get them out of his way.

Dr. Folmar heard the screams of the guards, realising that they didn't stand a chance.

Sur'Xod found a way to exit the station by following Dr. Folmar. He closed the door to stop Sur'Xod but the door couldn't hold him for long. Dr. Folmar ran as Sur'Xod teared the door apart. He was about to close the other door but Sur'Xod spat acid on his arm, making him not able to press the button.

Dr. Folmar watched as Sur'Xod ran over him, with the acid throbbling on his face. His right arm and cheek were dissolving in front of his eyes.

Sur'Xod got out of the facility, and found a way out of Zaun. Now, Sur'Xod hunts in Kumungu and kills anything that dares to enter his domain.

Did you like it? Great! Share your thoughts, and leave some feedback so I can improve.

For my next concept: expect an important person from Sur'Xod's lore.

Hi, I'm a chemist, and amino acids suck thematically. They are very weak acids (pKa = ~7). The strongest of the common 20 is glutamic acid, with a pKa = 2.10. PKa refers refers how easily the acid will ditch its protons -- lower pKa, more acidic. I suggest using Nitric Acid. Nitric acid (pKa = -1.4) is not only corrosive but it can cause violent explosions with most organic compounds and metal powders. You could make this acid from ammonia and oxygen with a metal catalyst, so it's not a stretch an alien lifeform could create an enzyme to produce nitric acid. Furthermore, I think your proposed ult is kinda lackluster. I'd propose -- if you choose nitric acid-- to ignite the acid sur'xod is standing in for its ultimate. The player would take time to create a pool, but it would force the enemy to focus the player before she setup. Unfortunately, for balance issues, the champ might have to be squishy like a fizz or yasuo, else it would be easier to setup the pool.

Now, if you want to overkill your basic opponent with acid, Flouroantimonic acid is your acid. It can dissolve the world's strongest organic bond C-F (what teflon is comprised of) and will protonate hydrocarbons, making them very electron starved and can further damage your body. This would work well with your idea of a crippling acid attack. If it gets on you, you're in alkynes of trouble. [slayer-jinx-wink] Jokes aside. Biologically speaking, I have no clue how something would make this stuff. It's pretty nasty. Uggh, but if something could make it, it could also be used defensively not just offensive, just watch any Aliens movie. Perhaps a defensive buff while in corrosive acid.

Also, not acidic, but a bombardier beetle can create a gaseous blast ~100 degreesC from H2O2/hydroquinone reaction. It's the equivalent of spraying of spraying yourself with boiling water.

tl;dr Amino acids are for basic ... champs. Chemistry has so many more ways of killing you. Please share more chemistry.

The champion is pretty good, but I must say I'm most impressed at your use of the discussion editing code.

There is one thing I noticed about your abilities you remark to a Crippling and Corrosive Acid, but you never specify how much damage/slow it would cause. Depending on how you make these you can make his early game either incredibly strong or weak. So if Corrosive Acid does +25dmg a second for 5 seconds thats an extra 125 damage. which is kinda overpowered for a level 1 if you ask me. but if it scales with his level; +25dmg for 2 sec at lvl 1 compared to +25dmg for 10 sec at lvl 18 I think would be acceptable. But this is just my thinking take it however you wish

Changes I've made:

  • New W: Friction Charge

Sur'Xod ignites all acid within 1100 radius, dealing 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+ 70% bonus AD) physical damage to enemies standing on an acid trail and slowing then by 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60% for 2 seconds, but destroying the ignited acid in progress.

  • Corrosive Acid now slows enemies by 20%

  • Small changes to his bio

  • Rised the Abilities and Playing as Sur'Xod above Lore.

I like the concept off this champion. Just be careful though, as this may begin to feel too much like a mix between KogMaw and Cassiopeia

As someone who enjoys brainstorming champions from time to time, this makes me feel... Inadequate. Regardless, a truly magnificent concept. Especially since I love Void champions.
