For those who are frustrated with the Slayer skins...

I too share a similar frustration, but let's be fair and take a look at past Harrowing skins: 2010 Lollipoppy Pumpkinhead Fiddlesticks Nosferatu Vladimir Mundo Mundo Kitty Cat Katarina Zombie Ryze

2011 Bewitching Nidalee FrankenTibbers Annie Definitely Not Blitzcrank Haunting Nocturne

2012 Zombie Brand Headmistress Fiora Pirate Ryze

2012 Shadow Isles revamp Harrowing event Haunted Maokai Headless Hecarim Underworld Twisted Fate

2013 Officer Vi Haunted Zyra

2014 Ravenborn LeBlanc Underworld Wukong

2012 Harrowing event was a huge success, and really set the standard for the Harrowing event and its skins. However, notice how every year has a champion(s) dress up in costume, with at least 1 "Undead/Spooky" skin.

2015 is no different. We get Zombie Nunu for our "Undead/Spooky" skin (comparable to 2012's Zombie Brand, not counting the Shadow Isle specific skins), and our costumed skins are Slayer Jinx and Slayer Pantheon.

Riot has been doing the same thing for the past 5 years, and this year is no different. Stop comparing 2015 to 2012's awesome event, they're not supposed to revamp the Shadow Isles every year.

As for the event, not sure what they're going to do, we're supposed to get an announcement. Keep in mind, last year, the Harrowing event of the Black Mist had some ties with Kalista, who was released just after the event (November 20 2014). The Harrowing event this year may have some ties with Kindred, the avatar of death. Who knows.

Yeah, I'm kinda disappointed that there won't be Shadow Isle skins, but that's only because I love the lore of the Shadow Isles, and it's unfair to project my expectations from a previous year's event onto the Skins team for this year's event.

This doesn't sound so optimistic to me.

I'm sure I'm the minority here, but I actually like these three skins. Obviously this year's event is going to be about a zombie outbreak. These two slayer skins are most likely the first in this newly developed dual skin line. Now instead of just zombies, you'll also have their counterparts, the "zombie"-slayers.

They are not "costumed" skins like some of the others from previous years. They are "zombie outbreak" themed. I for one can't wait until there are at least 5 zombie skins and at least 5 slayer skins so you can do full 5v5 games in this theme :D These slayer skins fit PERFECTLY as the opposite skins in this duo! Riot did an amazing job designing them!

This community will always complain. Everyone will bitch and moan about not getting what they want. I agree that there are so many awesome concepts out there for Harrowing skins, but all that does is snuff out any cool skins that ACTUALLY come out. I would say that the biggest reason the community loved the Vi and Brand skins so much is just because they came out of nowhere. They weren't consumed by this over-hyped event.

Keep up the good work Riot, you're skin team is absolutely amazing!

Bring on the downvotes!!!

But this time Jinx and Pantheon are wearing casual clothing, not costumes.

The idea of "zombie slayer" is actually neat, I'll admit. May not be "Halloween" and "spooky" enough for people, but having that as skin ideas is rather innovative, I'd say. Heck, Pantheon's Harrowing skin is actually something special and different, since most of his current skins are all "ancient"-themed.

Even though people are probably disappointed mainly because they looked more like casual clothing with dirty particles, and not "spooky" enough.

Harrowing has slowly gotten worse each year starting with 2013

I agree with your analysis of the skins from previous years, but not from this year. "Theme" seems to have become a buzzword for the Harrowing this year, even though, as you point out, there isn't really a theme for the past harrowings (except maybe 2014, where it seems more like Shadow Isles than costumes). This year's theme is Zombie Apocalypse. So instead of having a spooky skin and some costume skins, we're getting 3 zombie apocalypse skins. I don't think Jinx and Panth are dressed up to go trick or treating, like Officer Vi and Kitty Cat Katarina. I think they're ready to slay zombies. I also think that the stuff that's going to get posted "soon" will make this clear.

So yes, Riot has been doing the same thing for the past 5 years, and we've come to enjoy it. But this year is different. Sure, Zombie Nunu is great and fits with the growing Zombie skin line, but the other skins changed. Instead of being fun costume skins like Headmistress Fiora with Zombie Brand or Mundo Mundo with Zombie Ryze, we are getting Mad Maxian post-zombie apocalypse skins.

It's like the "theme" of previous years is what you identified (champs in costume + spooky skin), and Riot decided to change the Harrowing from this Halloween-esque theme, which they've been doing for 5 years, to a unified zombie apocalypse theme.

its just that slayer pantheon looks like ass, like he looks like a fucking larper

I think the slayer skins and Zombie Nunu are only the part of the skins we are getting this Harrowing http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/hRy4Mj8g-more-harrowing-skins-incoming

I appreciate this for bringing things into persepective. Underworld TwistedFate FTW :-D

And come on, Slayer Jinx looks pretty damn cool. Everyone likes Zombie Nunu, and Slayer Pantheon is less expensive for a reason.

I just wish they made them legacy like every year besides 2013

It think it more more to do with who got the skins rather then the skins themselves but I could be wrong.
