[Skin Concept] Star Tyrant Syndra

Hey, boards! I'm back with something a little different this time; some concept work done for a project I worked on together with my awesome friends of Rift Artisans. You might also remember the fanmade Demon Teemo project we worked on!

This project is a skin concept for Syndra, turning her into a Star Guardian gone rogue. It has been under work for almost a year now! I had the fun chance to work on both the concept art and the splash for this project. We started work on this before the official Star Guardian Syndra was announced so the leaks set us on quite the emotional rollercoaster. Our version is a bit darker than the official one, as her backstory mirrors base Syndra's somewhat.

Unfortunately due to personal circumstances the team wasn't able to put together a video like the last time, but we're going to be posting them individually, so look forward to them uploading their work!

Anyway, this was a lot of fun to work on, and I learned a lot! Thanks for looking and as always, feel free to drop any critique in the comments, always appreciate it when you do that.

At one point, we explored the idea of having her outfit 'upgrade' itself whenever you put a point into R. The other three individual upgrades would spawn whenever you maxed a basic ability and unlocked Transcendent for it.

Starguardian syndra was such missed potential wish it was the legendary skin instead of ahri she already got arcade

This is s amazing and a WAAAAAAY better fit for her than "star guadian" since it doesn't conflict with her existing VO RIP. Great work!

now This is what Syndra should have been in the Star Guardian series: the tyrant villain. She fits so much better here than being a part of the actual hero group. But ohhh Ahri so much more popular and thus needs a legendary more than her. Such a fucking waste, Riot.

Her star guardian should evolve into this as the game progresses. Lazy ass riot missing the mark.

Could have shown her going from good girl to bad.

The skin is so top heavy (in the headdress and shoulders area) that the exposed thighs just sees out of place, especially in the 'splash' where they're one of the first things you see and the exposed shoulders are mostly hidden. The skirt randomly being teal is strange, too.

I'm also kinda annoyed at 'Syndra is not a Star Guardian! She should be evil!' concept. Skins are supposed to be alternate fantasies.

That being said, you've put more thought and effort into this than I could possibly put into anything, and the art is fantastic as always. Good job.

Flawless! This is EXACTLY what Syndra's skin should have looked like. This is who deserved the legendary. So much untapped potential... This concept proves just that.

For real though this skin is beautiful and theres definitely not any star guardian syndra skin with a ton of wasted potential psh riot wouldnt do that amirite guys : ^)

What Rito should do:

  1. Pull out star guardian Syndra last minute, claiming the skin is bugged.
  2. Re-release as Star Tyrant Syndra along with Star Tyrant Urgot
  3. ???

If anyone should get a "better" star related skin it should be Soraka, not Ahri nor Syndra -__________-.

Tank my up vote. This legitimately makes far more sense for Syndra than what they did. :/ She is definitely more of a villian character or an older rogue Star Guardian than what they did with her instead.

Man you guys can't seem to pick a skin design Riot hasn't already started working on I feel for you guys that emotional roller coaster is real. Hopefully it stops with this one and you guys can make a skin that Rito doesn't think up as well for a change - love this design, truly. I think it would have been a better fit then what Syndra did get for her Star Guardian look.
