Dredd, the Undead Sheriff

HEAVILY INSPIRED BY "GUN GRAVE"

**Lore: ** Dredd was a previous sheriff of Piltover. He busted crime with a rain of bullets from his dual shotguns. Naturally, crime was solved through... less civil means. Criminals were simply gunned down, not arrested like the current customs of the Piltover Police Force (Caitlyn, Vi, etc.). This sense of "justice" made Piltover an extremely violent place. It resembled Bilgewater, where crime ran amok.

Dredd was the best in the business, taking out criminals with ease, all in a day's work. One day, during a normal crime-filled day in Piltover, Dredd came across an intriguing crime scene. At a local bar, 3 drunkards were killed, not by bullets though. Instead, they were petrified beyond help. Their bodies lay still and lifeless as they were hauled away to be buried the next day. Dredd set out to find the killer and enact his "justice" upon the criminal. Dredd searched day after day, finding clues as he discovered more crime scenes of petrified victims. He noticed that at each crime scene there seemed to be rotting wood everywhere, no matter how new the building seemed. Dredd tracked his killer by following trails of rotting plant life, all the way to an abandoned shack. Dredd entered the shack only to find that it was unoccupied, or so he thought. As he was inspecting a drawer of some speculation, Dredd was ambushed by the criminal who knocked him aside, battering him against a wall. Once Dredd got up to look his attacker in the eye before blowing the criminal to bits, he died. He was petrified in an instant, his life seemed to have ran away from him.

Dredd was discovered an buried 3 days later. Nobody came to his funeral, and he was simply replaced with another sheriff only a week later. It would seem that Dredd was forgotten. However, as Piltover grew into a massive city, hosting an array of spectacular innovations, as well as a new police force, Dredd saw the lack of "justice". The new police force merely arrested criminals! Although the crime rate was extremely low, Dredd felt a hunger to dish out justice the right way... with a bullet. And with this hunger, Dredd rose from his grave, taking his coffin with him and filling it with an endless supply of guns. He now walks the supposed "Fields of Justice" to make sure that justice is served.

Quotes:

"Justice will be served." "We ain't got time to slack around!" "A bullet is all I need." "Get a move on!" "I'm the sheriff."

While Attacking,

"One down." "Eat Justice!" "Justice is served!" "Time for payback!" "Dad Gum!"

While Casting "Coffin Slam"

"Up and Away!" "See ya' later!" "Eat this!" "Sorry, boys/girls..."

While Casting "Rocket Enforcer"

"BOOM!" "AHA!" "Light 'em up." "You're mine."

While Casting "Deputy Gat"

"Meet my new friend." "Say hello to my little friend!" "Ready for some action?"

Role: ADC Attack Range: 500

Passive: Justice Meter Dredd does not use mana and is only restricted by cooldowns. As Dredd attacks enemies, he builds up his "Justice Meter" as he feels more alive as he kills his enemies. The "Justice Meter" gives his basic abilities bonus effects based on the current level. The beat meter has 2 levels and decays after 5 seconds of not being in battle.

Dredd's abilities and basic attacks grant him 5 "Justice" per target struck plus an addition 1 "Justice" for every second he is in battle.

The meter's levels stand as follows: After 50 "Justice" = Level 1 **At 100 "Justice" **= Level 2

_Abilities do NOT cost "Justice" from the "Justice Meter", they simply gain bonus effects based on its level. _

This bar would resemble the "Justce Meter". At this point, the "Justice Meter" has grown past "Level 1" and is not yet at "Level 2". When the bar is full, it will have reached "Level 2". When the bar surpasses the halfway mark, it will have reached "Level 1".

Q: Bullets of Justice Cost: None Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds (reset timer starts after the last shot is fired)

Dredd pulls out both of his shotguns and gains the ability to cast "Bullets of Justice" that shoots out a deadly bullet that damages the first enemy hit. "Bullets of Justice" lasts for 5 seconds, can be consecutively cast w/o a cooldown, has a .5 second cast time, scales with attack speed, and can be cast while moving. Dredd is dealt a movement penalty while this is active.

"Bullets of Justice" act as basic attacks, applying on-hit effects, critically striking, and applying lifesteal._

Range: 600 Physical Damage: 40/50/60/70/80 (+100% of total AD) Duration: 5 seconds (+.1 second for every .1 bonus attack speed) Cooldown Between Casts: NONE Cast time: .5 seconds Movement Penalty: 50%/40%/30%/20%/10% Slower

If used on "Level 1" Level: "Bullets of Justice" deal 50% more damage If used on "Level 2" Level: " Bullets of Justice" duration is increased by 2 seconds AND deal 50% more damage.

**Physical Damage: **80/110/140/170/200 (+50% of bonus AD)

If used on "Level 1" Level: "Coffin Slam" knocks back units further. If used on "Level 2" Level: "Coffin Slam" slows units knocked back for 3 seconds AND knocks back units further.

R: Deputy Gat

Cost: None, but only available for use at "I'm Back!" Level. Cooldown: 120/100/80 seconds

Dredd pulls out a gatling gun turret and throws it at a target location, dealing minor physical damage. The turret then takes .5 seconds to transform into a large gatling-gun that mimicks Dredd's "Bullets of Justice" and "Rocket Enforcer". Whenever Dredd casts either "Bullets of Justice", or "Rocket Enforcer", the turret will launch that same ability to the same target location. (similar to Zed's shadow), however, they deal 50% less damage than Dredd's abilities.

Damage on Cast: 100/125/150 (+50% of bonus AD)

The Gatling-Gun lasts for 10 seconds, has 50% of Dredd's's maximum health, and has the same amount of armor and magic resist as Dredd.

**Overview: ** Dredd is an ADC who deals damage mostly from his abilities. He must keep the maximum amount of "Justice" to strengthen his abilities, otherwise, he is quite weak in terms of an ADC. However, he surpasses most ADC's when his "Justice" meter is full.

Justice's Q, "Bullets of Justice", is his main source of damage. It scales wickedly with attack speed and damage, however, it deals miniscule damage unless it is used during "Level 1" or "Level 2". Dredd is extremely vulnerable to cc this way because any stun or slow would reduce his ability to get off "Bullets of Justice". However, the reward of getting of a lot of shots onto a single target is massive, as it deals tons of damage if you can land multiple shots. I feel that this ability will make the player feel like a walking gun, as they dish out damage whenever they cast "Bullets of Justice".

Dredd's W, "Coffin Slam", is his main escape tool. Similar to Caitlyn's net, this ability offers a little less distance for a lot more utility. By giving it knockback, it feels impactful and not wasted, unlike Caitlyn's net. All in all, this is just an escape tool.

Dredd's E, "Rocket Enforcer", is his main set-up tool. The cc that it offers makes it essential in order to get of multiple shots with "Bullets of Justice". The initial slow is nice, however, the goal is to get off the stun, so that it is impossible for the enemy to get away from your "Bullets of Justice".

Dredd's R, "Deputy Gat", is his ultimate. This ability effectively almost doubles Dredd's DPS. While the turret remains active, Dredd pretty much gains 2x the amount of damage. However, this means careful placement of the turret is crucial! It can even be destroyed, so be wise of where you place the turret.

Dredd has many weakness. If his "Bullets of Justice" are interrupted it reduces his DPS significantly. If he misses his " Rocket Enforcer" he won't be able to get off very many "Bullets of Justice". If his Gatling-Gun from "Deputy Gat" is destroyed, he can't deal as much damage as he would like to. If Dredd wastes his "Coffin Slam" and places himself in a bad position, then he has no other escape. Counterplay against Dreddis relatively easy, but very punishing if a mistake is made.

Design Insight: Dreddis a direct interpretation of "Beyond the Grave" from "Gun Grave". To me, he's a walking arsenal of weapons who just totally wrecks if given the right set up or time.

Dredd offers a sort of "Bad-Ass" gameplay experience. He'll walk around like its none of his business and dish out damage wherever he likes. I think this will be extremely attractive to players and keep them coming back for more!
