New Idea for a Support's Ultimate

Since Taric is receiving a rework soon, it got me thinking about supports and what they have in common...utility. This got me thinking about how to replace Taric's ultimate (which seems useless to me) with a new one. So here it is...

What if a support could bind with someone similar to how Kalista binds with someone, so that they could only use their ult on the person they binded with. As for the ult, it would be a resurrection ult similar to Zilean's or Yorick's. Essentially you would replace your life with the person you're binded with. For example, if you bind with the ADC and they die, say you have 5 sec (or some small amount of time) to hit your ult and bring them back to life, but you die instead.

Now you could balance this however you want. Say you sacrifice yourself to bring the person back with full health, or that whatever percentage of health you sacrificed yourself with, the person gets the same percentage of theirs when they comeback (you have 70% health, sacrifice yourself, they comeback with 70%). I'm not on the balance team so...

What do you think? Interesting ult? Could it be good? I think so, but I'm not a support main, or a good player for that matter...let me know

I was thinking about it, and what if instead of just sacrificing yourself to revive them what if you became one with that champion, hear me out. Once the target you are bound to dies you can cast your ult to become an untargetable spectral form that moves slowly towards the body, once you reach the champion you revive them by merging your form with them. This brings the champion back to life where they regain full control of the champion. Your death timer begins immediately once the revival occurs, but you are also part of the revived champion, you cannot control the movement or attacks of the champion but you can cast your abilities as if it were your champion. The champion also gains any stats from items you have at a 50% ratio (if you have 100 ap they get 50, etc) once your death timer expires you leave the champion and respawn thus killing the champion. you can bind with a new target each time you die, but can only bind to one. if your target dies before you respawn your death timer resets to the length of theirs.

What do you think?

Neat Idea. I like where your head is at. Sacrificing your life for your carries is what a good support does and is a bittersweet feeling.

However, fit that into a team comp of Yorick Zilean Kalista
add any champ that has a get out of death free ability Anivia Tryndamere Zac or even Karthus Sion Throw in item 3157 item 3026 and we are talking about having someone be completely un-killable.

Just too Broken.

I just dont see how this would be particularly good. As he showed above there are already revive abilities, and those ones can be cast on anyone on your team instead of one and they come at no personal cost to the caster (besides a small amount of mana) so to make this ability viable as an ultimate you would need to have a kit that is very overloaded with utility or damage. And if you have a kit with important utility or damage then you would be losing out on all of that to bring back the other person. No matter how you look at it you would still be down a person on your team. Cool idea thematically, just not very practical in a gameplay standpoint

I like the concept a lot. I think the best way to handle it would be to make it a little more like yorick's, in the sense that your carry still dies, but you are able to disappear from the fight for a bit to give them a few extra seconds of fighting. Maybe with a buff/shield representing your power helping them temporarily, and you come back after the duration runs out.
