An ADC version of Rumble....

Ok, so not exactly an adc version of Rumble...but what about an adc with a passive similar to that of Rumble's?

Personally, I think it sounds cool and super interesting. You could adjust the 'overheat' aspect of it as well as the cooldown. I was initially thinking that the 'danger zone' bonus could be something like Jinx's rockets, but intead of a toggle, it would only last for a little while until overheating.

discuss away...

EDIT: Love seeing everyone's ideas and thoughts. They have actually given me more ideas...

What if it was an adc with a passive like Rumble's, but REVERSE. In this case, the heat would build constantly and auto-attacking would lower it.

On a side note, the 'overheat' doesn't have to be a positive either, it could also be used to punish the user. In this case, if the adc overheats, it actually damages them.

On yet another side note, I was also thinking about having the ultimate conditional. For example, the ultimate is only available when you are overheated (on top of cooldown of course).

I have an idea now thx to this

Marmolian - The Magma Forger

Passive - Magma Rifle - Marmolian shoots with a magma rifle and can only shoot a little at a time, Each auto attack stacks a charge of Magma Rifle, when at 6 charges Marmolian cant shoot again for 4 seconds but his abilities do (0.6 Attack Damage Scaling) extra damage.

Q - Lava Blast - A medium skillshot range that shoots a ball of magma dealing 40/55/70/85/115 + (0.8 Attack Damage scaling)

W - Fire Ring - Active - Marmolian creates a ring of lava surrounding 400 units away from him, when an enemy stands on the ring, they get burned for a total of (0.7 Attack Damage Scaling) + (0.2 Ability Power Scaling) and when enemies use a skillshot through the barrier it gets burned and deals half of the total damage to Marmolian.

E - Mega Blast - Marmolians Next Basic attack applies Grievous Wounds for 5 seconds while dealing 20/40/55/70/85 Damage

R - Volcanic Eruption - Marmolians Magma Rifle can now shoot Bigger Bullets, When Marmolian casts this ability he shoots a bullet in the direction he is facing. Marmolian can cast this ability 3 times. Each Bullet deals 150/250/325 damage + (0.8 Attack Damage Scaling) and shields him for Half of the damage dealt.

Hope you like the idea :)

An ADC version of Rumble?... hmmm, where have I seen that before...

Rumble works by managing heat through ability use. His abilities gain bonuses when over 50% heat, but he can lock out his ability use if he overheats, which is a significant source of damage for him as an AP bruiser. He does get an autoattack bonus since his mech is now red hot.

For an ADC, casting abilities is generally secondary to auto-attacking, so the mechanic would have to be adjusted in some manner. I'm imagining some sort of rage mechanic (or pressure of some sort) where auto-attacking builds up rage, and ability use reduces it. If rage hits 100, something bad happens, but it can be turned to the carry's advantage with reasonable foresight, similarly to Rumble. Something like, he gets slowed but deals AOE damage like sunfire or something (and can't build more rage)

The most important thing, to me, is that when this character hits 100 rage/pressure/whatever, his playstyle has to change. If he's an atuo-focused ranged adc, perhaps he becomes melee (hello gnar) or he can't auto anymore (seems unfair) or something significant like that. I am attempting to avoid "silenced and does more damage" since that it Rumble's deal.

A yordle with a fat ass piltover gun with a kit surrounding said gun thus making heat the secondary bar. Auto attacks empowered when it overheats, but you're silenced.

Passive - Rumbles Q - Piltover Pellets [Passive] : Every fourth auto does AoE splash damage (50% of AD dealt to nearby enemies) Q - Truthful Bullets : He launches a skillshot that passes through enemies doing bonus magic damage on the first person hit. The skillshot is a fat mega-bullet that ignites enemies on its way. The "ignite" last 3 seconds.

W - Static Fur : He dashes to a nearby ally and they both get movement speed buffs, his next auto attack shocks the enemy and does bonus dmg

E - SubShooter Toggle : His autos become ground skillshots with tremendous range that adds heat after each shot. The skill is executed in a way in which he puts his gun in the ground and fires coordinated blast of energy up from beneath the enemy, if they get hit twice consecutively then a slow is applied

R - Doomsday Device: The yordle rings up his gang hovering above the Rift (or whatever) and orders a certain weapon. The weapon falls on top of the yordles desired location [global] and starts spraying a poison that does %missing hp damage. When the yordle uses his q active on the cloud, the area explodes :^)

This was made off the top of my head LOL

Blayze: The infernal Saint

A human ki practitioner who has attempted to ascend to immortality and godhood by bathing in the hottest magma, blayze was instead cursed by a mysterious entity within the magma; he is now immortal, but he has lost his regular human body and is confined to a magma body.

Passive part 1: molten rock: blayze absorbs the excess heat energy from everything happening nearby him, converting it to infernal ki: nearby attacks and spells (including by himself) will cause him to heat up significantly faster. His auto attack damage, base attack speed, and his movement speed are all based on the heat he absorbs. However, he takes less damage when he has less heat (as he is hardened).

Passive part 2: conservation of energy: blayze can switch to melee combat if the target gets close enough, dealing sinificantly increased damage. Furthermore, while blayze has a large attack range (700) his damage rapidly falls off past 550 attack range, and increases below 350 and 150.

Q: Store heat: Blayze will consume his heat, and any nearby heat while this is channeling. He can channel indefinitely, though he will absorb less heat past certain points, he will change colors from glowing red, to white, to blue, to purple, and, if somehow crazy enough to charge that long, outright shimmering (colorless, but the air around him will warp). While channeling, he is slowed, and deals less damage with his auto attacks. If an enemy champion cancels his channel, he will take damage and have 40% of the stores heat dispelled.

Q: part 2: heat blast (ahem falcon punch): double tapping Q in one spot will release all the heat into a huge attack, with damage falling off with distance and up close damage being extremely powerful. Part of the damage will be lost to recharge your passive, unless you have your passive fully charged in the first place.

W: Heat Sink: absorb all the heat from a small target area, charging your passive/Q and freezing (stunning) all enemies within the the area. Damaging enemies with your attacks afterwards will result in a loss of armor until they regain their heat (heat is regained over time, their being attacked will speed up heat gain).

E: Emblazen: Ignite your heat energy, dealing damage per second near you, as well as giving all your auto attacks bonus damage and aoe, keeping the bonus damage, attack speed, and movement speed from your passive until toggled off. You lose heat energy over time, and deal damage to yourself over time as well; Emblazen will automatically turn off if Blayze runs out of infernal ki.

R: Infernal Hell: after an uninterruptible channel for 1.5 seconds, Blayze smashes the ground, turning it into a hotspot with a huge inferno burning around him. Damage dealt to units by Blayze extends the duration of this inferno, (burning the units as fuel for more burning). Blayze also forms flaming wings (think flaming bat wings: symbol of his attempt at godhood), allowing him to reactivate R to dash around within the inferno. Blayze cannot be forced to leave this burning region by crowd control, however if he does leave the flames will disappear within 1 second.

I put a lot more thought than I was planning into this, hope you like it (also pls consider it Riot hehe, no need for credit or monies, though I wouldn't mind a job mehehehe).

Blitzcrank

Not an adc, but #1 candidate for a heat mechanic. He's a STEAM GOLEM after all.

Similar to sol in smite?

MrBuffington7/3/2016, 11:49:58 PM1 votes

Jhin is sort of close, where you have a limited number of shots before you "overheat"/have to reload.

Sounds like an idea I had for a "pair" champion to Rumble, kind of. I was unsure of posting a champion concept here while my item concept was still going on...but I'll post it here:

Incise, the Mech Prison Fighter/Marksman Stats: AD: 8 Def: 6 AP: 3 Diff: 10 Resource: Voltage Passive - Zaunite Menace: Incise has a set amount of Voltage which depletes over time, hastened when using abilities. When Voltage hits 0, Incise is stunned and recharges while stunned. Can either move early when Voltage is at 50% or wait until Voltage reaches 100%, at which basic attacks gain 40-70% (based on level) base AD + (60% bonus AD) bonus physical damage for 5 seconds. Q – Lightning Shooter: Shoots a lightning blast in a line skillshot which deals splash damage, can be cast up to 5 times within 3 seconds. Deals 40/50/60/70/80 + (50% bonus AD) physical damage, halved for splash damage. Deplete: 5% Voltage per shot Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds W – Corrupt Influx: Allows Incise to dash a short distance for 4 seconds, up to 3 casts (4 with initial cast), increases attack speed by 10% for 2 seconds. Deplete: 8% Voltage per cast Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 seconds E – Thermo-Snare: Launches a spinning ablaze wire that snares the target for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds, applying Grievous Wounds. Deals 10/15/20/25/30 + (40% bonus AD) physical damage. Deplete: 10% Voltage Cooldown: 50/45/40/30/25 seconds R – Rebellion: Dashes to target location, dealing AOE damage, stunning all enemies within the radius while stunning herself in the process. Recharges some Voltage while stunned. Stun lasts for 1/2/3 seconds. Deals 80/90/100 + (110% bonus AD) physical damage. Deplete: 50% Voltage Cooldown: 130/120/110 seconds

A rough lore concept: An abnormally physically strong Yordle, Incise was somewhat ostracized as somewhat of a brute by her kin in Bandle City, but she found a kinship with Rumble, the runt of Bandle City. She grew romantic feelings for him, and confessed them to Rumble, only for him to reject her saying his eyes were on Tristana. This caused her to run from Bandle City in tears, heartbroken. Unfortunately, she traveled too close to Zaun, where Viktor noticed the abnormally large and physically dominating Yordle and had her captured so he could convert her into a powerful mech. However, much to Viktor's dismay, before he could complete her transformation, an attack on Zaun occurred, and Incise used the opportunity to escape, using the power her new cybernetics gave her. But the damage Viktor made had already been done. She was imprisoned in a suit of armor that gave her a great deal of pain from that day forward.

Jhin is somewhat like rumble. His 4th bullet would be his 'danger zone' while his reloading would be his 'overheat'

Interestingly enough, Heroes of the Storm has a Champ called Tychus that basically has Flamespitter on his Q

I don't think a heat mechanic would work on an ADC unless they had a Mana bar as well :3 That and a lot of fights with ADC are "ON or OFF" so this may add some issues/risks including: Being OOM. Not having the damage needed at the time since he/she can't act fast enough to get the heat. Being OP because he/she has the power to over power any ADC in the game simply by having. Not having a kit that relates to heat in a meaningful way etc. :3

I could imagine this on a reworked Urgot though if they made him purely into a Weapons platform who is powered both by "Vengence" and "Heat" as he would be both a Machine and an angry angry being :3
