I imagined an interaction between Kindred and Mordekaiser
It’s a head canon of mine that if there’s any single character in League of Legends that is a true monster, it’s Mordekaiser. I’ve actually spent a lot of time writing about him or thinking in his mind set, and I made him into well-and-truly evil. He exists only to perpetuate pain and misery, not because it’s within his nature, but because he can.
"One day, we will end you."
"Oh, that is rich. Is death all you can threaten me with—painful death at most? Pain and I are intimate with one another. You threaten me with a lover's kiss, a mother's embrace, a father's affection. And death entails release, no matter how much pain you'd subject me to. No matter how violent my end—as I would combat you, if only for the challenge—I would escape your prattle.
"For centuries, you have shadowed me, never far away, lurking in the underbrush, playing at being grand and foreboding hunters. It was adorable at first. I saw your faces so many times throughout my mortal life alone, I came to take you as a sign that I had found a rare challenge. We brushed against each other so many times, so close as to entice, only for me to draw away and further vex you. I didn't choose undeath to escape you—I did it to spite you.
"I've eluded you for centuries, and you're still no closer to ending me. Have the years ever grated on your patience? Have they given you grief, have they angered you? Good. Because, on the mischance that I allow you to catch up to me and reap vengeance, all you can do to pay back the lifetimes of vexation is kill me. In truth, grant me release. No matter what you do, you cannot pay my hatred in kind; your nature prevents it. So, as I would pass into oblivion, I would laugh, knowing that you don't have the human capacity for reciprocal reprisal.
"Besides… you say all things must end. So one day, you must too. I can't help but wonder who will do the reaping then—the Lamb, or the Wolf?"
