A recognizable unisex cosplay?

Hey, I'm going to start working on a cosplay soon; but I have a small teensy problem.

• My skin is dark.
• I'm a guy.

I'm open to getting the makeup and things I would need to do a female cosplay, though. I really enjoy the star guardian costumes but Ezreal's costume is very bland and Rakan's costume is very revealing. I rather wear a skirt than show that much of my chest!

However, I want to also avoid genderbending; because a lot of costumes end up not looking the same when it's finished. And the last problem is armor. Of course I could buy the armor sets separate from the costume; make the costume myself then add the armor; but there isn't armor out there for every character. ( Lord knows I can't do KAYLE. )

If you have a character / skin recommendation, please suggest it with the things I would need for it.
