Glacy, the Frost Yordle [Champion Concept]

Glacy is a real trooper! Though cute and adorable, is a real warrior being able to survive and thrive in the harsh, far north weather and cold of the Freljord.

Though yordles are not normally magic users, it is believed she was born as one because she was born in the Freljord near enchanted ice. Using her magic to form sharp and rather large, for her size, icicle spears to hurl and/or skewer at fish and animals for her sustenance, also comes in handy as training to one day become a mighty champion for the Freljord!

Glacy is not someone to simply sit back and watch you see. She wants to get into the action and really tough it out with the best, but also has a desire to protect her homeland that she loves dearly and SHE wants to see do it with her own hands. There is no passively watching from the side lines for this little yordle, no-sir-ree, she will show the world that Freljordians are not to be taken lightly!


Glacy is a frosty support and healer, but her main attribute is her unique crowd control which is freeze. Similar to a stun, but the main difference is that attacking the target does bonus magic damage and shattering it with an attack does bonus true damage, the drawback is that it reduces the freeze duration with every attack. This allows the team to decide between not attacking to neutralize a target for potentially a very long time, or hammer away at them for a brief duration of freeze time and deal a ton of damage.


Attack Range: 600 units Attack Speed: 0.525 +5% per level Attack Damage: Average Movement: 330 units per second


Frozen Treat (Passive):

Static Cooldown: 10 seconds; Drop Range: 400 units

Glacy throws a packet of frozen food directly in front of her that lasts for 10 seconds and any ally champion or herself may pick up and consume the food to heal for 10 - 100 (+50%AP) health.

Basic attacks lower the cooldown of Frozen Treat by 0.5 second, increases to 2 seconds against champions and epic monsters.

Freezing Charm (Q):

Cooldown: 12/10.5/9/7.5/6 seconds; Cost: 40/90/140/190/240 mana; Range: 1000 units

Glacy shoots out freezing cold magic in the target direction that causes the first enemy struck to be frozen for 1.1/1.7/2.3/2.9/3.5 seconds.

All basic attacks from Glacy and ally champions against a frozen target deal 40/50/60/70/80(+30%AP) bonus magic damage, but reduce the freeze duration by 0.5 second. If the freeze was shattered by a basic attack instead of thawing out, then the target is dealt an additional 6/6.5/7/7.5/8%(+1% per 100AP) of its maximum health as bonus true damage.

Icy Slide (W):

Cooldown: 16/15/14/13/12 seconds; Cost: 65/70/75/80/85 mana; Range: 1000 units

Glacy creates a directional icy slide for the next 5 seconds that causes her to uncontrollably slide down at 200% increased total movement speed if she goes down the slide. If Glacy collides with a frozen champion, she will shatter it and drop 1/2/3/4/5 Frozen Treats nearby.

Ally champions gain 30/35/40/45/50% bonus movement speed when moving down the slide. Enemy champions move 30/35/40/45/50% slower when trying to walk up the slide.

Snow Phoenix (E):

Cooldown: 2 seconds; Cost: 25/30/35/40/45 mana; Range: 1000 units Glacy builds a snow phoenix at the target location that melts after 5/6/7/8/9 seconds and grants sight around it. Snow Phoenix can block enemy projectiles, but it is destroyed afterward.

The Snow Phoenix slides down the Icy Slide, if it collides with an enemy, it will explode and deal 40/50/60/70/80(+30%AP) magic damage as an icy burn over 2 seconds. Targets inflicted with icy burn will be frozen for 30% longer if struck by Freezing Charm.

The Great Blizzard (R):

Cooldown: 60 seconds; Cost: 100 mana; Range: 600/900/1200 units

Glacy summons a powerful blizzard of snow and ice around her for 4 seconds, grounding and slowing by 45% and greatly reducing their vision radius.

Nice. does a little seem like a mix of a few abilities like Nocturne's ult plus a slow and the unpassable wall of a phoenix (nice idea btw) is like Anivia's wall Freezing dart is like teemo's Q which I don't know the name of but it freezes ppl instead of blinding them like teemo and ice slide is like Nocturne's black path thingy which I don't know the name of either. and I wonder what Glacy would look like :3 so if u can somehow draw or make a picture of what u want her to look like that would be nice xD

Her passive plus attack speed would make her broken as is. A 3 second snare on an 7 second cooldown (40% cdr) would make me want to cry. I stopped reading after that.

Here's a tip to making champion concepts: ask yourself if you'd want someone to play this champ against you, every game you face, while trying to break every ability his in favor.

There are so many such concepts and everytime I see them, I really want to ask - why? (and by "such concept" i don't mean frost yordles but overall weirdness of a champion). So my question is - why?

Since there is no damage, there is no purpose in buying damage items. We have here snowy yordle TANK which is quite misleading - a thing that Riot would not approve. We're building tank with no ratios, so what can we buy - HP, resistances and CDR. Let's say.. Boots of Whatever, Mikael, Randuin, Locket, FotM and ruby sightstone. It's: 1800 bonus HP, 70 armor, 60 mresi, 30% CDR (40% with mastiers/runes easly) of flat stats. If we skip Mikael and use Sunfire/Wits end, Warmog we can even more defensive stats but w/e for now. Since she has no damage output, she probably need somehow high basic stats. I assume about 400 HP lvl 1 to about 1800 lvl 18, little bit less than Nunu. This gives us 3600HP lvl 18. and almost 600 (probably HP runes, so 600) HP at lvl 1 with relic.

You can autoattack about every 1 second more or less. So with passive we have let's say 60HP regen every 7 seconds at lvl 1. It's about 45hp/5 HP regen which means a lot of sustain in lane for your carry. Your Q is snare or stun? If stun, it's wayyy too much from the start so I'll just assume it's snare. Big snowy phonix that lasts for 0,25s (ADc can just AA it, it;s a projectile, right?) or for entire 10s if ther are champions without projectiles is just silly. 10 seconds of blocking udyr to the wall is something that should never happen. And 0,25s (about reaction time of ADc) terrain block on 2v2 bot lane is useless.

Overally: this character is completly useless 1v1 (no dmg output), almost totally useless 2v2 (again, no damage output. If Q is snare, than you cannot either reduce enemy's damage or improve your allies one, you can only AA with hope). And diabolicaly strong at ganks and teamfights. It's counterable if we talk about Q (depends how hard to land would be), Snow phoenix is either OP or meaningless. And ultimate is way too long to exist since there is no way to counter it beside having banshee's veil on yourself. 15% AS reduction for 6 seconds on entire map is WAY too much in teamfights, even without the reduced vision AND MS slow. Additionally this champion is meaningless in any 1v1, there is no way to push the lane for your AD, you cannot even finish people off when they're escaping with 200HP and your team is dead - unless you will AA him to death. So the big question is - why?

In my opinion the champion concept is a cool idea, Just maybe make the freeze for 2 seconds. I mean as for the damage output, that's fine. Another champion who doesn't have as much damage is probably like Zilean. Zileans main damage is just Q. Other than that he just helps allies for everything. The global ult is a cool idea too, but maybe you should make the range scale per ult level rather than the entire map. Would be pretty annoyingi f you think about :.
