The Yorick Project.

Yorick has needed a rework forever. He's actually in a decent spot strengthwise (particularly if you pair him with a good adc on a hypercarry), but he is the very definition of a boring champion. He literally does not have a single fun thing about his kit.

BUT. His lore, and champion concept is really epic. An undead gravedigger of the Shadow Isles calling forth those he lays to rest, to do battle? That actually affords room for great gameplay doesn't it?

So here is my Yorick Rework idea:

Yorick is a notable gravedigger of the Shadow Isles. An individual whose only purpose is to lay to rest the beings that exist within the mystic isles of the west. As he travels to the fields of justice in order to undertake the business of the shadow isles, he brings not but his undead self, but also the unliving horrors of those he lays in the ground. Not mere human ghouls or other horrors of the crypt. For in the Shadow Isles dwell not only humankind but monsters.

As is inscribed on the western edges of the map “yere be dragons”.

Yorick’s kit.

Q: From dust ye came:

And undead fiend with a gasping maw emerges from where it lay buried, dealing physical percentage max health, shredding armour and slowing enemies in AoE.

W: the Corpses Call. Yorick calls upon the souls of your beloved ones who have passed away, to taunt his enemies, and cause them confusion. Taunting the enemy to move in a direction specified by yorick for a short duration of time, and dealing magic damage once the duration ends.

E: Gravediggers Feast.

Yorick partakes in the anima of those he slay, passively granting Life Steal and Spell Vamp, as well as health return on minion, monster or champ kill. On activation Yorick gains bonus attack speed and movement speed.

R: Dragons Die as Well.

Yorick summons an Undead Dragon underneath his feet, knockupping enemies around him and dealing magic damage to those around him. Yorick proceeds to use the dragon as a steed for a medium duration, gaining movement speed, health and AD, as well as a burning aura around him

Yoricks kit, is that of either a support, utilizing w, and q as peel and harass, while having good lane sustain, and all'in with E and R. also synergizing well with the new champion Kallisto for double knockups when they both us ult. Or he can be played as a toplane/jungle AD bruiser type champ, who in teamfights serve as peel, and followup engage, and can also set up picks with w, from fog of war. I think a kit like this would really serve him well both for playmaking and feel, and finally do justice to a "summoning-based" necromancer in league. Now we just need Mordekaiser buffs for a Zombie team :b

Hope you like this new Yorick concept, and feel free to come with your own reworks below (:

Personally, I like the current yorick's kit, for the most part. He's a meaty AD mage and he does his job well enough. The problem is that he did his job too well and so he's sitting overnerfed and waiting for a rework because the numbers can't really fix his kit. If I were to make a few changes, though, here's what I'd throw down.

Q- Omen of Famine: Splitting the function of his current Q and E skills, an autoattack enhancing skill that heals yorick and spawns a hungering ghoul. As long as the ghoul is active, Yorick and all of his active ghouls have increased attack damage, movespeed and lifesteal.

W- Omen of Pestilence: ((Yoricks W is, in my opinion, one of his duller skills. Slowing skillshot ghoul, yadda yadda. One of my favorite things to do with it is trying to block enemy skillshots with it. Sometimes it even works... so I think I'm going to incorporate that aspect with a walling effect.)) Yorick summons 2-6 pestilent ghouls in a wall. The ghouls remain stationary for 1 second before breaking formation to attack.

E - Omen of War: Yorick wraps himself in a ghostly armor, gaining armor and magic resist. Damage taken while the armor is active causes yorick to gain a stack of fury. Yorick can re-cast the skill to launch the armor as a skillshot, slowing targets hit and dealing damage based on the fury stacks, then summoning a fast moving ghoul on the target.

R- Omen of Death; keep it the same, this skill is cool.
