Carrion: The Infestation
Lore The Carrion were originally a simple parasite residing in the waters of Zaun’s depths, but are now something much worse. Having been exposed to the toxic runoff of the city above, the first Carrion was mutated into a hideous insectoid creature that was then attracted to the city’s lights. Crawling its way up, the parasite latched onto an unsuspecting Sump Scraper; merging with their body and mutating them beyond recognition. Now the Carrion are an ever-growing threat as they continue to spread their infestation.
Appearance Carrion is a horrifying sight to behold, with the body of a man merged with that of a bug. Mantis like arms, acid filled pustules and long proboscises protrude randomly from a shapeless, grey skinned human torso. The man’s bloated head hangs to the side as the parasite’s face bulges from its neck. The human arms twitch and writhe at its side as its deformed legs, assisted by insect limbs, carry the monstrosity with a limp.
Gameplay Passive: Defile – When enemies die, Carrion can auto attack their corpses to infest it with larva (some abilities can infest enemies before death). After a 12 second incubation period, the infested corpse will spawn a parasite that will either follow Carrion or latch onto the nearest enemy champion; dealing a small amount of damage and slightly reducing their damage and attack speed every 8 seconds. This only ends if an ally (to the infected champion) kills the parasite or the player returns to the fountain. When the parasite dies, it will deal extra damage to the infected player. Also on death or removal at the fountain, another parasite will spawn (after 12 seconds) from the infested corpse the first came from.
Defile works on the corpses of enemy champions, siege minions, super minions and large jungle creatures. Infested corpses can be destroyed by the enemy.
**Q: Larval Strike – **Carrion uses his long proboscis to strike an enemy, dealing damage, stunning them for 1.5 seconds and infesting them with larva that deal a small amount of DOT. Enemies that die after being hit with this ability will automatically spawn parasites. Dying or returning to the fountain is the only way to remove the infestation.
Larval Strike works on enemy champions, siege minions, super minions and large jungle creatures. Activation Type: Point and Click
W: Vampiric Extraction – Carrion grapples onto an enemy with his proboscis, slowing them and dealing high DOT for 4 seconds or until the target exits the range of the ability. During the grapple, Carrion heals for the damage dealt and gains a boost in attack speed. Activation Type: Skillshot
E: Defensive Clot - Carrion’s pustules burst and spray his surroundings with acid while dealing minimal damage to himself. Enemies caught in the AOE are blinded and take DOT for 2.5 seconds.
Passive – If carrion dies while this ability is off cooldown, he explodes; essentially activating the ability with bonus damage. _Activation Type: Simple Activation_
R: Assimilation - Up to 4 enemies that died with a larval or parasite infestation or have been infested after death are transformed into hosts. Hosts will attack enemies and turrets as Carrion does (using AA’s and lunges). They will also infest corpses. When spawned from a corpse, the Hosts will flock to Carrion or attack the nearest enemy. Assimilation affects the 4 closest infested corpses. _Activation Type: Simple Activation_
EDIT: Slightly revised some of the abilities.
