Jinx Theory: Origins of a Maniac

This is not the first time I've shared this theory, but I wanted to post a more organized and updated version that I have put together. Feel free to give feedback and share your own theories.

Warwick keeps remembering a girl and her name while not remembering much else. Warwick’s taunts aimed at Jinx (“You were there” and “Let me forget!”) suggest that Jinx is that girl.

As Warwick temporarily dies on Singed’s operating table, he mumbles the girl’s name. After Warwick trashes his lab, Singed decides to start looking for the chimeric beast by starting with that name. This could suggest that he later abducted a young Jinx and tortured/experimented on her; thus leading to her insanity and possibly even her skin and eye color.

“A few of the old timers in Zaun remember a young girl who might fit Jinx’s description, but the girl they speak of is a far cry from the one who became Piltover’s bane. This girl was sweet and innocent, a tinkerer with big ideas, who never quite fit in and came to a bad end.” – This line from Jinx’s bio helps to reinforce the above theory by stating that Jinx likely had something terrible happen to her in the past. Additionally it may hint that Jinx is older than she appears. However, this is not as solid as the rest of the theory, because those Old Timers don’t necessarily need to have been close(ish) to Jinx’s age to remember her from before she was insane; though the exact wording has me suspecting otherwise.

Jinx was likely one of Ekko’s Lost Children before her being taken by Singed. This is supported by a portrait of girl with blue hair seen in Ekko’s trailer as well as his taunt (at Jinx) “I had a crush… until you started talking to the gun.” However, if Singed is truly the reason for Jinx’s insanity, Ekko’s taunt may or may not be cannon (Jinx could have run with Ekko for a bit after escaping Singed).

Theory Summery • When Jinx and Vi were young, Warwick and the gang he ran with murdered their parents and the two sisters were separated. Seeing Jinx’s reaction to this event is likely what caused Warwick to put down his criminal life and try to be a good person. • With no home or family, Jinx grew up on the streets/in Hope House where she eventually met Ekko and the Lost Children of Zaun. While running with these kids, she would have found a mechanical aptitude. o It is possible Warwick kept an eye on Jinx as she grew up due to his guilt from leaving her as an orphan. Note: Warwick probably doesn’t know Vi is her sister. • Meanwhile, Warwick is abducted by Singed and events wind up leading the mad chemist to Jinx. • Jinx is then abducted and tortured/experimented on as Singed interrogates her for Warwick’s whereabouts. Jinx however, does not know. • Eventually, Jinx gets out of Singed’s lab (whether she escaped or was released) and finds herself back on the streets; likely running with the Lost Children again. • However, the trauma of being Singed’s test subject has changed her so that she no longer fit in with Ekko and his friends. As she came to realize this, she likely disappeared and stalked the streets of Zaun on her own. • During her time alone, she likely discovered her sister going by the name of Vi shortly before she disappeared; only to reappear in Piltover as Caitlyn’s new partner.

Additional Notes Jinx may have discovered her love for destruction and panic on accident. For example, she could have been testing a device she had made that ended up exploding and causing the surrounding people to freak out.

Vi’s bio also mentions an explosion in the heart of Zaun. While it could have been a simple disaster in one of the city’s many factories, it is entirely possible that this was actually Jinx getting carried away with explosives.

Based on Riots past comments that Jinx is around the age of Vi (possibly slightly older) Jinx might have been the oldest of Ekko's Lost Children.

EDIT: Based on Camille's taunt at Vi ("Ever wonder how you became an orphan?") she may have had something to do with the death of her and Jinx's parents. It is possible they had knowledge or technology that a Chem Baron (whom Warwick could have worked for) wanted and Camille stepped in to see that they never got that knowledge/technology.
