Stupid question, but why in the seven hells would you change flat health to % base health instead?

Big Lincoln2/7/2017, 5:16:25 PM2 votes

I don't like changing things to % health lol

call me crazy but I actually find those ideas quite nice, though I feel like a spell-thornmail combined with the current thornmail is just too unbeatable

I like the idea. I'm not sure if Riot needs to implement it like this. I wish Riot would use the method of letting items increase what the champion is good at, rather than just giving flat amounts.

My biggest issue is how they handle marksman hurting tanks. Right now there is Crit builds do have a chance at doing high on a percent chance, which I really dislike. There is also Lethality, which is good early, but usually won't build into last whisper. I was optimistic a few years ago when they removed dodge because they wanted to get rid of that random element in a combat stat, yet they still have crit. It would be nice to see items for AD carries that maybe acted like fervor and black cleaver, where the more you attacked a single target you stacked up damage against them or shredded their armor. Rather than every adc having to buy a last whisper with a hug percent armor pen value that negates a lot of armor the team built to counter you. Maybe for adcs that rely less on attack speed have an item that acts like jhin's crit shot, where after shooting a couple shots the next hit penetrates their defenses and would deal more damage.

Mages also have the issue of being very reliant on burst. Yes there are poke mages and sustain mages, but even poke mages can burst very effectively. The only sustain mages I can think of right now are Vlad and Swain, so their kind of just a niche of their own. It would be nice if mages damage came from using items the same way I mentioned for adcs. Rather than giving them percent health moves on some abilities, build those stats into items, where maybe if you hit 3 successful abilities on an enemy champion they take an additional percentage of their health. I believe this would also help against these tank mage builds, where melee mages are given good percent health damage abilities in their kit. Right now they can build tank, get penetration and still do tons of damage because of high base damage or percent health damage.

Sion W Soulfurnace

Passive: Sion permanently gains 2 bonus base health whenever he kills an enemy, increased to 10 bonus base health against large enemies and enemy champion takedowns.
