  • Cooldown changed to 10 seconds from a barrage system (2 second static cooldown; 12 / 10 / 8 second recharge time)
  • REMOVED: Big Ones every 3rd cast.
  • NEW EFFECT: The cooldown of Missile Barrage is displayed on-screen and there is a Sweet Spot partway into the cooldown wherein Corki can active Missile Barrage to perform a Quick Reload, instantly refreshing the cooldown of Missile Barrage and readying a Big One for 5 seconds. If Corki attempts to Quick Reload and fails, his missile launcher locks up and the cooldown is partially extended.
  • Damage adjusted to 80 / 130 / 180 (+100% AD) (+50% AP) from 100 / 180 / 260 (+30% AP)(+ 20 / 30 / 40 % AD).
  • Big One damage changed to 120 / 195 / 270 (+150% AD) (+75% AP) from 150 / 270 / 390 (+45% AP) (+30 / 45 / 60 % AD).

Nuances:

  • Corki cannot perform a Quick Reload while disarmed or otherwise unable to attack.
  • The Sweet Spot shout be about as generous as Twisted Fate's Pick-A-Card, or possibly shorter.
  • The Sweet Spot window remains the same size at any amount of CDR, but occurs at the same relative time into the cooldown (e.g. 1/3rd of the way in).
  • Corki cannot perform a Quick Reload during the first 0.5 seconds of the cooldown or the last 1 second cooldown, to accommodate for latency-related double-casts or trigger-happy clicking near the end of the cooldown.

This is definitely an interesting take on the mechanic, and one I really like conceptually. I'd have to crunch the damage values though -- I think you'd have to do a comparison in both a teamfight scenario (assuming, say, 5-7 missiles worth of engagement time) and a siege time (calculating over perhaps 25-30 seconds of siege power).

I'm a big concerned about the mandatory spam of the ability though. We're looking at about a click a second on average (2 clicks per 2 second cooldown) on a character who, due to his E's range and functionality, needs to be micromanaged and repositioned fairly often. I'm not sure I want a carry who is required to pay attention to a graphic on their screen, when, as a teammate of theirs, I want them paying attention to the rest of the game -- Corki players with this mechanic are much more likely to flub up important positioning.

You might be able to solve it with clever UI placement (screen graphics, special reload graphics over Corki, etc), but I'm also a little concerned that it's overly punishing for players who can't do it reliably. The solution might be to make it a little less feast or famine -- something like this.

#MISSILE BARRAGE# PASSIVE: Corki stores a charge of Missile Barrage periodically, up to a maximum of 7 stored at once, and starts with 7 missiles every time he respawns.

ACTIVE: Corki fires a missile in a line that explodes if it hits an enemy, dealing 80 / 120 / 160 (+.3 / .6 / .9 AD) magic damage to nearby enemies. As Missile Barrage's cooldown refreshes, a "Requisition" graphic will appear over Corki's head. If he re-activates Missile Barrage during this time, his next rocket is a Big One, which deals 25% bonus damage and has twice the blast radius.

Now Corki is rewarded with an increase in his current damage for constantly chaining Big Ones (up about 25% from his current damage output with his R), but is still limited by his passive ammo system, making his siege ability a little less potent than your suggestion. The penalty for missing the window is still significant (25% damage and a bigger AoE), but not crippling.

I'm not sure it's actually more interesting gameplay-wise than the current Corki, and it definitely creates fewer interesting windows for his enemy, but I think it's a smoother mechanic than your suggestion because it's more forgiving to new players -- you don't want too much power locked into such a precise skill portion of a character.

So you nerf the damage, and then make it harder to get the increased damage? I don't even play Corki but this sounds stupid. What even is the point?

I think Corki should have been fully loaded as soon as you reach level 6. Everytime you reach level 6 you have to wait for one missile to load first.
