Definitely-Not-Soraka Remake Concept

  • To start off, I want Soraka to be fun to play as, while still being more relaxing and chill to play as, a lot more than what she is now. So very easy to play as, but her skill level is in decision making and being the master mind of the game, so this means she gains better skill expression so that there is a real difference between Challenger Soraka and Wood 8 Soraka.

  • I want to better emphasis Soraka as a dedicated healer, but making her healing more fun to use for the player and more engaging for the player, without having elements (outside of mana) that prevents her from being the healer she is meant to be.

  • I want to try to resolve her history of being hair-pulling, rage-enducing of a champion to go against. The two main things for this is she has to be a squishy champion (low base values for high ability power ratios naturally does this) and have her engage with the enemy in a healthy way that also does not prevent her from being a healer. ~ Something that may allow Soraka to be a dedicated healer and less frustrating to go against is removing burst heal from her kit and have it heal over a period of time. This allows for an opportunity of weakness, she is very strong against poke and chip damage because she heals her team back up, but weak to all-ins and especially as a squishy, immobile mage.

  • I absolutely hate the idea of health cost for the healing, mana costs are a lot more clear of when she can and cannot heal anymore, while not having a feels-bad-man moment for the player.

  • I absolutely hate her current ultimate - Wish - as it is right now since it offers zero skill to use or bad use case scenarios. There is also no room for skill expression since it always heals everyone no matter what and there is never a bad time to use it, there might be non-ideal times to use it, but never a bad time. It is also boring and unrewarding for the player as well, which makes it even worse considering how much power a global team heal grants (more healing based on missing health does not fix the problem at all, all it does is create LESS skill expression for the ability).

Attack Range: 575 units Movement: 340 units per second Attack Animation: Massively improved magical banana throwing!

Wish (Passive):

Cooldown: 240/180/120 seconds @1/7/13 (reduced with CDR); Range: Global

Soraka's prayer has been answered! If an allied champion or Soraka takes lethal damage, then they are healed for 10% of their maximum health plus 50(+150%AP) health instead of dying.

Energizing Banana: Soraka's basic attacks against enemy champions or epic monsters restore 10(+15%AP) mana over 2 seconds.

Shooting Star (Q):

Cooldown: 3 seconds; Cost: 25/30/35/40/45 mana; Range: 1000 units; Explosion: 450 units

Soraka blasts a star in the target direction, dealing 30/45/60/75/90(+30%AP) magic damage to enemies it passes through.

If Blessing of the Stars collides with the Shooting Star, then it will explode at its current location in a large area, dealing 60/90/120/150/180(+60%AP) magic damage and healing for 20/25/30/35/40% more to struck allies.

Blessing of the Stars (W):

Cooldown: None; Cost: 15/19/23/27/31 + 15/19/23/27/31 mana per second; Range: 600/700/800/900/1000 units

Hold: Soraka transforms her mouse cursor into a magical star that rains down miniature stars as it travels, healing allies struck for 10/20/30/40/50(+25%AP) health. Each ally unit can only be healed once per second.

Soraka can be healed if struck by the magical star, but at 50% value. Additionally, Soraka heals herself for 6/12/18/24/30(+15%AP) health whenever she heals an allied champion and not herself.

Black Hole (E):

Cooldown: 11/10/9/8/7 seconds; Cost: 90 mana; Range: 600 units

Soraka blackens the area around her, removing all light, dealing 80/120/160/200/240(+75%AP) magic damage and blinding and silencing enemies for 1 second.

Celestial Body (R):

Cooldown: 110/90/70 seconds; Cost: 100 mana; Radius: 350 units

Soraka burns hot and bright like a star for 3/4/5 seconds, gaining 40/55/70%(+5% per 100AP) total movement speed and 12/16/20%(+5% per 100AP) damage reduction, able to pass through all units, and dealing 80/120/160(+70%AP) magic damage to enemies she passes through. Enemies can only be damaged once per second.

During this time, Soraka can no longer cast Blessing of the Stars, but allies she passes through she will heal for 50/75/100% more and heals herself for the same amount whenever she heals an allied champion.
