[Pet Ability Concept] Destruction or Restoration
I've been playing Annie and I thought of a similar pet ability interaction. This would not fit for Annie as she already has a stable kit. What if you had another champion who had a pet as his ult, but unlike Annie's, his/her pet would be less controllable, but smarter (smarter than Malz' older voidlings) I'm talking about: 1# Attacking the same target your champion attacks 2# Staying outside of tower's range unless your champion attacks tower or enemy champion. 3# Attacking and chasing more squishy champions by default. 4# When chasing an enemy that's about to enter the bush, not stopping for a second and continue chasing to the last place the enemy was seen at (similar to bot behavior) 5# If your champion hides in the bush, your pet should too
Advanced mechanics: 1# Protecting the champion from skillshots (can backfire) 2# Interaction with a particular ability of said champion
What are the benefits other than this, what was the price of not being able to fully control your pet paid for? The main ability of clicking R again would be to consume its life energy and restore some of your health, based on pet's health and remaining duration. The idea here is to challenge the player into thinking, whether he needs some healing right now (not necessarily healing, maybe other forms of defensive strategy), or, if he trusts that pet will 'cause enough damaging impact to pay with little to no healing or other defensive steroids that come with this ability. This is a challenge for the developers too, to balance it so either of decisions can be viable. Of course the summoning of this pet should damage enemies in some way.
This is the generalized version of what I'd like to see in a new uncontrollable pet, that's (I hope) yet to come into League soon.
