Izan, the Voidtouched (Repost)

Izan is a melee mage with short range spells. He has to use portals to the void to extend the reach of them significantly, creating a large field in which he controls the battlefield, but if he's outside of the field, he becomes unable to impact a teamfight effectively.

This is a repost of the original concept, with a few minor modifications from the original concept. Any feedback or constructive criticism is welcome. Stats: Basic Attack Range: 125 (yes, he's a melee mage, which most would call an AP assassin, but in my opinion he is too much of a ranged caster for the assassin label. Deal with it.) Attack Speed: .67 Movement Speed: 310 For the rest of the stats, I don't really know what to put. I don't pay attention to base stats when I make a champion, nor do I look at existing champions' base stats that much. I might go and look later, then edit this. But for now, I just won't have anything for the rest. Kit: Passive: Void Gems: Enemies he kills have a 100% chance of dropping a Void Gem on the ground. He collects them by walking over them. Void Gems will buff his abilities and allow him to cast his W. Large or Epic jungle mosters drop 2 Void Gems. Q: Void Burst: He fires a void burst from his current location at 250 range. If it hits an enemy, it will explode, dealing 80% of the damage to surrounding units. The target hit by the skill shot will not be damaged by the explosion. Empowered version: he fires two beams that curve, like 2 Diana Q's running next to each other, at 600 range. Damage dealt is the same as the basic version. Damage math: 100/115/130/145/160 (+80% AP) Costs and Cooldowns: 40/55/70/85/160 mana, empowered costs 1 Void Gem. 5/4.5/4/3.5/3 second cooldown. W: Void Portal: At the cost of five gathered Void Gems and 50 mana, he will place a portal. Any skill shot spells that can be blocked by Yasuo's wind wall that hit one portal will be teleported to the next and fired out at its range. A portal will link to the nearest portal whose range (600) overlaps with its own. Any skill shot includes ally, enemy, and even dashes by champions that have skill shot dashes (Vayne Q, Lucian E, Ekko E, etc.) While players can't move through the portals, with a dash, they can go through. He can store up to 2 portals. In addition, the spells he fires through the portals will cause the entire range of the output portal to deal 30% of the ability's damage to all enemies in the range. Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 seconds. E:

Active: Izan fires a skill shot in a line in front of him, dealing damage to the first person hit and linking him to them. He can reactivate the ability to dash to the linked enemy. If it goes through a portal, he will dash through his portal network to reach them, entering at the nearest portal to him and exiting at its linked portal, then through any other necessary portals to get to them in the same way. The dash damage will increase by 5% for every portal he dashes through, capping at 30% increased damage. Empowered (active only, no empowered passive): the skill shot will deal 25/30/35/40/45% increased damage and slow the target by 30% for 1 second at the cost of 3 Void Gems. Damage: Active: 60/80/100/120/140 +65% AP. Dash: 20/25/30/35/40% what the original hit did, plus it counts as a basic attack (his basic attack damage will effect it.) Cost and Cooldown: 60/70/80/90/100 mana. 13/12.5/12/11.5/11 seconds. R: Void Rift: He fires a slow-moving beam that travels up to 2000 range, dealing no damage until he reactivates this ability to detonate it. Going through a portal won't extend the reach of this ability, like it will his others, however it will get it to its destination faster. Reactivating this ability will detonate it, dealing high damage to all enemies in the blast range (same range as the explosion on a Ziggs ultimate.) Deals more damage the further it travels, dealing full damage after reaching half its total range. Empowered: will cost 10 Void Gems to increase the detonation radius by 100 and increase the damage by an extra 25%. Damage: 10/50/90 (+20% AP) - 350/500/650 (+120% AP) Costs and Cooldowns: 100/110/120 mana, 110/90/70 seconds.

This kit is half broken af and half useless most of the time.

Q: 0.8 AP scaling spell on 1.5 cooldown with 45% CDR?! That's just straight bullshit.

W: If played in lane, you need to kill your opponent 10 times in order for this spell to even do something while you cannot cast any spell since the first kill 'cause it would consume the gems?

E: I don't actually understand the interaction with portals... But the rest seems relatively ok, except for a spell with this utility is it's scaling also way too high.

R: Does almost the same thing as many other ultimates, but WAY better. This ult would be a definition of outclassing, a.k.a bullshit.

The gems drop for EVERYTHING that dies near him, not just champions.

As for the ultimate, it moves extremely slow and just moving through one of the portals isn't enough to make it actually deal all the damage that you'll want from it in a teamfight.

There are several spells in the game with the same AP scaling as his Q on shorter cooldowns, and a number of them also have higher base damages as well. Look at Ryze's Q. If they're marked by his E, it deals double damage = 370 base +90% scaling that resets when his E, which has a 2 second base cooldown, comes back up. Look at Anivia's E, too. 175 (+50% AP) that doubles if the target is slowed with I think a 3 second base cooldown. Essentially, if she presses R below you before firing her E, it deals 350 (+100% AP) damage. And it's beyond easy to do. The Q is more designed to get 1 gem from a minion and then get more from the wave using it, as well as poking by sending it through portals. Yes, he takes a bit of time to set up, but once he gets that time it's pretty great. Also, notice that it's pretty short range. Even the empowered version is the same as Ashe's basic attack range.

The E's interaction with portals is that basically he can dash through them using it to reach the marked target if the target is out of his own range, but within range of one of the portals. I also removed a passive it had on it which gave his basic attacks an AP scaling based on the number of gems he had, and as his E procs on-hit effects, the passive would proc on the dash.

I'll admit, I'm not sure what I was thinking when I added the 30% bonus damage to the entire portal's range. This concept is a repost of something I made a few months ago with extremely minor tweaks to it, like the removal of that passive and changing the ultimate to deal more damage the further it traveled, because before it dealt full damage if it was just simply fired and then instantly detonated.

You're right with the Q, only I would say they both need to do more things to proc it (Anivia especially, her 1.0 scaling is more bound to her ult's CD which is ~3 sec. with 45% CDR, which you can rotate twice/thrice per a teamfight) and tbh imho Ryze's CDs are pretty bullshit...

To the passive - so everytime he lasthits anything it spawns a gem? Hm, I think this needs testing if it isn't too much...

To the W, ok, it may create some interesting playstyle patterns, but mostly when the portal is hidden, otherways it could be somewhat zoning tool, but the interaction with other champs' dashes deepens the mobility creep :/

I honestly don't know how to feel about the ult now, but change it's name :P I you ask why, look up Vel'Koz's W

Haha yeah, I started playing Vel'Koz after I made this champion and I just never renamed the ultimate when I took another look back. I'm bad with names.

The other thing is that it's not only allied skillshots that go through the portals, it's ANY skillshot. And it will always fire anything that goes through it the max range, unless it's something like Lee Sin's Q where it marks a target and then dashes him to the target if he reactivates it. So a Lucian E, for example, going into the portal will throw him 600 units out in the direction he fired it, making the portals a great escape tool if fired from one direction, but throwing him much too far in if thrown from another direction. It also reacts with things like Ashe's arrow and Malphite's ultimate, so those become stronger abilities just from the portals existing. But an enemy Ashe or Malphite can use the strength the portals give them just as well as an allied Ashe or Malphite.

The passive was originally a 50% chance, and the first time I posted it, it was suggested to be a 100% chance because of how necessary the gems are for his entire kit to work.

Well, that's it, champions with dashes are even more stronger than those without them... Plus some of those interactions (Malphite is great example) are really broken, imagine placing a portal behind a wall...
