Corki Elixir

So I was just in a game as Corki. Now, I'm not a very good Corki player, admittedly. However, I wanna know, why does it recommend item 2140? Why not item 2139?

item 2140: Grants 30 AD and Bloodlust for 3 minutes. Bloodlust: heal for 15% of physical damage dealt to enemy champions. Key word there is PHYSICAL After reading Corki's abilities, not one of them deals physical damage and his passive makes 80% of his basic attacks also deal magic damage. So, if a Corki buys Elixir of Wrath, he's healing for 15% of 20% of his basic attack damage from it and that's all he benefits from it with. (Note that I'm not sure how his passive interacts with the Tri Force Spellblade damage; it could be a bit better if it doesn't convert this damage into magic, however it's still not that great as that's still only 20% AD (+200% Base AD) heal).

item 2139: Grants 50 AP, 15 bonus Mana Regen per 5, and Sorcery for 3 minutes. Sorcery: Damaging a champion or turret deals 25 bonus true damage (5 second cooldown vs champions, no cooldown vs turrets).

Considering that Corki has nearly all of his abilities scaling decently well with AP, the 50 AP doesn't go completely to waste. In addition, the 15 Mana Regen is useful and the Sorcery passive is amazing. So why would he run Elixir of Wrath over Elixir of Sorcery?

because the recommended was there from before they changed his passive to 80/20 when it was 50/50.

If it's a problem make your own item sets.

Even still, that's only 15% of 50% AD. That's still like 7.5% of all damage you deal on autos healing. That's nothing.

It synergized better with old builds when he had more AD and more crit.

he still builds ad and crit but even back then his basic attacks did half physical damage and half magic

EDIT: unless you're talking about when he had a true damage passive, which isn't the same thing at all

Used to be that his attacks actually did 55% AD physical damage and 55% AD magic, but that's not much different.

Apparently, waaaay back in the day, his passive just gave him on-hit 10% AD true damage, but that's ancient history--so the question still stands.

Changing his passive didn't impact that, though…

...? That's what i said, changing his passive didn't effect the recommended item settings.

Well, it shouldn't…

Ok? and you're saying this to me like i made the recommended item set because....?

Elixir of Wrath's AD helps damage a good bit in a crit build, just saying.

you still take elixier of wrath because his ap scalings are low and ap doesn't make his auto attacks do any damage. just take the red pot bro

Because his AD scaleings are far higher than his ap scaleings, so the 30 adc give alot more damage for him than the 50ap, especially when running a crit built.

Sorcery: Damaging a champion or turret deals 25 bonus true damage (5 second cooldown vs champions, no cooldown vs turrets).

Gatling gun will shred tanks now as each instance of his E damage is true.

You posted the tooltip for EoS, but you clearly didn't read it.

yup, the cooldown.

Guess it is still good for poking with R and when you need strategic advantage to end faster.

Btw Triforce is converted with his passive.
