Recently had the thought of a Warhammer-Like Tabletop Game for League of Legends
So not too long ago I had a discussion with a friend about what's the most awesome fictional universe. We talked about Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Warhammer 40k and at some point League also came up.
We were talking about how 40k wastes its universe and all the potential it has by basically slowly ruining their board game on top of letting other companies make really shitty video games and movies. On the topic of them destroying their board game we realised that all the other universes would make for really awesome tabletop miniature games too, if they only wanted to.
Since all the board games from Games Workshop are slowly dying and they previously had a monopoly on the market, why not make a similar game based around the League of Legends universe and fill the gap? It would be easy for them to take over considering the horrible state of all other miniature tabletop games and with Mechs and Minions you already showed that you know how to make board games like that.
You would be able to choose an army from the different factions of Runeterra and the champions and some other heroes would be powerful characters that would lead an army of lesser warriors.
Each army would be reflective of their lore, for example Demacia would be full of high elite soldiers but this would also be their weakness, being overwhelmed by enemy armies that outnumber them. The Shadow Isles could have that unstoppable horde feel to them, on top of maybe getting extra zombies or ghosts whenever they kill enemy units. Ionian armies would be swift and hard to catch but once you do, they would be really easy to kill etc. etc.
I would love to slowly build up a miniature army of noxian raiders and having a miniature Swain lead them into battle against whatever kind of army my friends are building. Imagine reenacting the Noxian campaign in Ionia with a board game or another campaign of the Black Mist invading Bilgewater after Miss Fortune took over. I can also trust Riot to be better at pricing and balancing their game than the games that already exist, since they have experience with that.
I know this suggestion might seem somewhat random but I couldn't get it out of my head after I had that conversation with my friend and as a former fan of the 40k board game I can already imagine how awesome it would be if League made their own game.
