When you Rework Urgot, Please Let Him Remain Ugly.

It's part of his character. A monstrosity that is unpleasant to look at, suffering unbelievable pain and the only thing to keep it going is what made him so scary when he was alive - his hate for everything around him.

I like to draw parallels between him and the Mountain from Game of Thrones. Both were raised to kill which made their psychic state so fucked up to the point that the only pleasure they get is from violence and sadistic tendencies ( and a little rape here and there but we gotta keep it pegi 12 ). Because of their background they never were able to feel affection for another person or got any to begin with which made them even more insane. They are unloved beings who were exploited to be living killing machines for all their life which may also make you feel sorry for them, at least if you forget the atrocities they caused for a second.

Both almost got released from their undesirable existence until the ruthlessness of their rulers revived them to be a living weapon once more, this time quite literally. The Mountain is now terrifiying to look at but Urgot takes it to another level. He is not only a reanimated corpse, his fat upper body is exposed and there are all kinds of machinery worked into his skin. His lower body is spider-like which triggers arochnophobia, which is a good thing considering his character.

On top of that, Urgot does not only feel psychic but also physical pain now and his violent tendencies and his goal for revenge will have to make up for that now too, especially since his body won't allow him to feel pleasure from eating, sex and other human pass times anymore, and if someone were to befriend him before he was reanimated, he or she definitely won't do it now. He is kind of the perfect evil character - he does and did things that are obviously wrong and his looks just makes you want to puke but his background makes his actions almost understandable and you could see yourself acting like him in his position.

There is also some controversy on why he's fat, since he was described as a terrifying warrior which would make you look more like a bulky giant that is packed with trained muscles instead of a fat person. I personally thinks it makes sense because he spent the last years before his "death" as a crippled executioner rather than the warrior he once was. Also we got that kind of look already covered by Sion.

His kit is outdated, I'm going to agree with that but I think he looks like he should look, except for maybe a few tweaks.

I was also kind of disappointed with Yorick's new look, his good looking face and lack of humpback. I think they could have done everything they did with him in his rework but they should have left these two features at least, because he too is a champion that would suit his lore better if he was ugly, even with the remade lore. Makes me scared of what they're going to do with Urgot, which is why I made this post.

Let me know if you agree.

I agree with this post, but no on Yorick. He's still a hunchback, just not as severe. He's not what I'd call handsome either, barrel jawed, glowing eyes, unshaved...

Nah, he's fine the way he looks just needs a better model to hold in all that beauty.

I imagine that they consider Yorick's core more tragic than ugly.

You can argue that Sion is attractive in a monstrous zombie sort of way, but that's because he was a giant man in life.

Worst case scenario, Urgot is a disfigured tech zombie, but not fat.

Relax man, I'm sure they're going to keep him ugly. Although it would be hilarious if he goes from looking like tve the Floater from XCOM EU to the Archon from XCOM 2.

Yes, Urgot's entire theme is that he's an abomination against nature, a profane continuation of what should have ended long ago, he's should DEFINITLY remain as a monstrous abomination. The only thing I'd change him design-wise is maybe to bulk up his body and machinery to make him look more intimidating, kinda like the Mancubi from Doom.

I'm less worried for Urgot than for Yorick though, because Urgot does have a more intrinsically interesting motif than Yorick, it's unlikely that Riot will try to "spice it up" per se. It's a possibility, but a less grave one.

I think Urgot should remain ugly, but I think they should aim for a sort of epic ugly. Like a fleshy tank (like actual tank) that will absolutely destroy you.

Elikain8/24/2016, 8:11:22 PM4 votes

What, Poppy isn't ugly enough for you?

TFBaam8/24/2016, 9:38:30 PM4 votes

yes yorick needs his ugly looks, humpback, and his LANTERN BRING BACK THE LANTERN

As an avid Urgot main, I really, really hope they don't keep "ugly" as a visual motif for his update. His character has so much going for it story wise, but visually it's so poorly conveyed as to what he is, simply because his character is massively overshadowed by just how ugly he is. I feel like he should become much more Techmaturgy / Cyborg related in his update, if not to convey his gameplay themes, but to allow for more depth in story than just "ugly abomination of tech-magic gone wrong" His absolute lust for revenge and his almost pure sadist mindset are such strong character personality traits, but it shouldn't be all based on just him being "ugly".

His Battlecast skin is much more to how Urgot feels as a character than any of his other skins or visuals, in that he has this pitch black armor with glowing and sparking potrusions on his body. The dark armor really gives him a menacing and evil feel, and the bright green accents allow the skin to convey a sickening and twisted feeling. Being ugly doesn't really show much more beyond that his character, on a surface level, is deformed. It would be so much more poignant to allow him to look not human, but still retain his evil, menacing and sadistic personality, especially through gameplay and visuals.

Just my two cents

BRING BACK HIS NIPPLES. GOD DAMNIT RITO!!!!!

AND IF YOU DO BRING BACK HIS NIPPLES, WE WANT NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT 3 WHOLE NIPPLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SkyBlade798/24/2016, 7:46:00 PM2 votes

Yes, definitely. I kind of wished that they kept Yorick more zombie like, but I'm satisfied with his current look.

I want him to remain ugly but maybe they can make it actually look cool. Not preddy but cool

WhiskerWow8/25/2016, 4:01:28 AM2 votes

Although a lot of people dislike the prettiness of the new Yorick, I do not think Riot has that a big stance against ugly characters, if we look to Sion as an example. (And early rework Fiora?)

Sion's still a hulking, pasty, Frankenstein-like monster, just as ugly as he was before the rework.

In other words, it was a specific decision for Yorick to be more attractive.

YoungFarmer8/24/2016, 8:39:20 PM2 votes

He can remain ugly and creepy and still look good at the same time, I think she keep him ugly but make him look cooler. Like his champion model sucks right now.

TheHowester8/24/2016, 10:12:23 PM2 votes

I think he became fat because of all the machinery that's keeping him alive are inside him, stretching his skin to LOOK fat. Thinking from that way, it make his character more grotesque and tragic.

macromite8/25/2016, 2:02:42 PM1 votes

If he isn't an eye bleaching monstrosity when riots done with him then they fucked up.

CasterGilgamesh8/25/2016, 4:14:02 PM1 votes

First off Urgot wasn't truly evil before death he served as a dedicated soldier and instead of retiring from it he settled to becoming an executioner in his proudest moments of finally getting to execute the prince of demacia the scumbag Garen came out of nowhere killed him then free the prince.instead of letting him die Kat brought brought his remains back to Noxus they arguments D his corps with HexTech machinery invented by Viktor.then he got broght back to life with Necomancy.his rage is what keeps his soul in his body though and he is in constant pain at being broght back in this form he hates Garen but he is not fuckin evil UGLY Doesn't Equal Evil people stop saying it does it's insulting

T8 Speedwagon8/26/2016, 3:45:13 AM1 votes
