Was just reading something about medieval eastern cavalry for my history exam and realized that both Hungarian and Polish Hussars were descendants of the Serbian Gusars who were primarily called Rac (Hungarian exonym for Serbs because moderns history says that Serbs are probably descendants of the mixture of Thrakians and Slavs cuz their medieval land was called RAS/RASCIA - THRASCIA and Serbs were called RASCIANS even tho that's not completely confirmed because many believe Serbs are a 100% south Slavic tribe even tho Serbian main Haplogroup is I2a 46% which is common for Thrakians while R1a around 20% in Serbia is common for Slavs). Initially the first units of Polish hussars in the Kingdom of Poland were formed in 1500, its influences coming from Serbian mercenaries. A small number of Serbian mercenaries were recruited and became Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth citizens.

Yes the origin of hussars is from Serbian mercenaries, that is the basic idea - serbian mercenaries were a light cavalry unit with little to no armor, sporting a basic spear and a turkish style wooden shield. Hussars as they are known are a heavy cavalry unit known mostly for their winged armor, specially trained hussar horses and using a lance often with a banner.

So yeah while the origin might've been serbian the refined idea is a polish-lithuanian concept.

And as for the xin skin... Polish community is actually known to play Xin often, which fits in with the hussar skin quite nicely despite lacking a horse.
