Lets make a Champion together

Yesterday I was reading a thread by, i believe, zallance. It was about champion concepts that haven't been used yet. One of the ideas, though I don't remember who brought it up, was for a Demacian outcast.

So I thought a bit about what would make someone change sides from Demacia to Noxus, this is my lore idea so far (it's pretty vague):

A Demacian citizen believes in the values of Demacian society, such as ''protect the weak'', and trusts The government to protect people. Some tragic event happens, leading them to believe that depending on others to fight for you will lead to sadness, and that to be safe and happy, you have to be strong to look after yourself. This leads them to want to tear down Demacian society so that people can defend themselves.

Again, pretty vague. But i'd love to talk about lore ideas and eventually build a kit based on that. I think it would be interesting to have a ''good intentions gone astray'' type character that doesn't fit the stereotypical ''bad guy'' theme Noxus has.

Verlo Rener, The Everyman

Demacia was a land of strength. Thanks to the protection offered by those above, everyone could grow into whatever and whomever they pleased. The nation flourished on that value, and it was on Verlo had great faith in. That faith didn't last forever, however, as the war against Noxus left them vulnerable. A band of mercenaries, hired by Noxus to attack them while most of their protectors were off to battle, ravaged many neighboring towns, and eventually found their way to him. Defenseless, many of the citizens fled, leaving the village to become a ruin. They couldn't stay together, however. That would leave them vulnerable. As such, Verlo split from them, traveling to Ionia in an effort to escape the horrors of war. This backfired heavily as, once again, Noxus invaded his home. While he was ultimately protected by the Ionian people, he knew then that he needed to grow stronger. Taking a apprenticeship with an Ionian warrior, Verlo learned the honorable art of combat. Then he turned right around and learned the art of assassination. As years passed, he continued to wander the land, learning whatever skills he could to both defend himself and those around him. Learning to kill was learning to be safe, so he did all he could.

Passive: To Know All - Verlo constantly gains increased stats based on his actions. Every 15 seconds he is in continuous combat with a champion, he gains 1 permanent Armor and Magic Resist. Every time he kills an enemy champion within 5 seconds, he gains 3 permanent AD. Lastly, every time he escapes combat with an enemy champion with less than 10% HP, he gains 3 permanent movement speed.

Q: Practice Makes Perfect - Verlo's next auto attack deals 20/25/30/35/40%totalAD more damage. This resets his auto attack timer. If he is melee, they are slowed by 10% for 1.5 seconds, increased by 1% for every time this has hit them (up to 50%). If he is ranged, he gains 10% increased movement speed for 1.5 seconds, increased by 1% for every time this has hit them (up to 75%). Has a 8 second cooldown.

W: Highest Flattery - Verlo targets an enemy champion within 300/350/400/450/500 units and channels for 1 second. After that time, he creates a copy their weapon, replicating their range and attack speed. This uses their stats without fading modifiers (like Highlander or Rapid Fire Cannon) but counting static bonuses like Tristana passive, item effects, or Kog'Maw Q. This doesn't update to future increases without recasting and negates all static effects from Verlo. Has a 60 second cooldown. While on cooldown, can be recast to drop the weapon.

E (Melee): Bowl Over - Verlo gains 70% movement speed towards enemy champions for the next 2 seconds, which goes away on hit. Verlo's next auto attack snares the target for 1 second. Has a 14/13/12/11/10 second cooldown.

E (Ranged): Long Shot - Verlo's next attack is shot as a skillshot, but it has 300 additional range. It can still only hit the original target. Has a 10 second cooldown.

R: This Is War - Whenever an ultimate is cast within 400 units of Verlo, this ability is replaced with it for the next 10 seconds. This effect is lost while the ability is replaced. Has a 120 second cooldown, fully reset on takedown.

for some reason, your little tidbit of lore makes me think "arsonist".

(people only adapt and get stronger if they don't have their safety net, etc, and arsonists tend to take that away form people.)

Do you know Kotor 2? In that game, one of the main characters (Kreia, the mentor) teaches a lesson: when you fight a battle in place of someone else, you are robbing them of the chance to become stronger (this can be directly seen in gameplay: when you help someone it is you who is getting experience points and leveling up, instead of the one you helped).

In Jade Empire the same concept is brought up again as part of the "closed fist" philosophy: you should help by evening out impossible odds, but you should not rob people of the challenge in their lives.

Maybe the demacian outcast could have become accepting of something along these lines?

I think a cool passive would be for a champion's vision to never be blocked by terrain. This would mean that they can see inside bushes and through walls, but only within their personal vision radius. I came up with this idea a while ago for a contest where I turned Samus Aran into a champion.

Transformers Champion. Doublefrost the Speed Shooter

Passive- Autos slow 20%. 20% Bonus Dmg when hit enemies are hit by frost__ Q:Frost Shot- Liquid nitrogen steel ball damages enemy champs equal to attack damage W: Energized Systems- Bonus health, movement speed, and attack speed by 30% for 5 seconds E: Speed Dash- Dashes in target direction, deals bonus damage if hit by frost R: Transform!- Transforms into Super Doublefrost. Bonus attack damage, attack speed, armor, and movement speed by 50% for 3 seconds. Frosted enemy champions are slowed to 50%.

( I created the lore but I messed up and somehow deleted the entire PARAGRAPHHH.)
