Rift Herald doesn't care about armor plating
Not sure how many people know this, but the charge attack from rift herald against towers always does the same chunk, so using it before plating falls can give a bunch of gold. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Pro Tip: The early plates are softer, so break them first and then summon the herald to insta-kill the rest, taking the turret as well.
Probably because the Armor/MR value is very low on the first plate and the dmg gets only reduced by the first layer of defense.
Same with Demolish and Ziggs's Satchel if it happens to get low enough.
. You should use his w on a low health tower with plating. You will love it trust me [sg-lux]
You have to be in range though.
